Rating: Summary: A FANTASTIC read! Review: I've heard a lot of Valdemar fans, when making a review, compare other books to the Mage Winds ones and say that it was 'disappointing.' But I certainly didn't! I thought the characters were imaginative and seemingly come to life, the plotline continuously leaving you breathless and wanting to know what happens next, and the archvillain, Falconsbane, thrilling and shocking! I loved these books! I couldn't put them down! Darkwind and Elspeth were incredible, well-rounded characters, and I loved the huge part magic played in these books. In fact I think pretty much all the characters were well done; I understood them, and felt like I knew them. I haven't as of yet read any of the books from earlier time periods in the world of Valdemar, but I think either the Vanyel books or the Gryphon ones are next on my list, as soon as I finish the Mage Storms (I just need the last 1 of that), since both play a role in these books. People also criticize these books by saying that there are too many questions left unanswered. Well, that's what the Mage Storms book are for! If Lackey had tried to answer some of these questions in this trilogy, it would've taken away from the story too much. I'd rather be able to wait and find out a little later than destroy a great storyline! So, once again, I loved these books (their characters, plot, setting, etc.) and wish that one day I could visit a Tayledras Vale. Maybe I will, in my dreams... ^_
Rating: Summary: pretty good Review: In my opinion, Winds of Fury was the best in the trilogy. This is a well written fantasy novel, rated high in the books that i have read, although not the best. Mercedes Lackey did well in her development of the characters and plot. I particularly liked the development of An'desha. With the long overdue end of Falconsbane she skillfully brought in a new character who easily wins the heart of readers. Her use of figurative language in metaphors and similes works well to describe places and events, and her work contains proverbs that tell truths. Although I liked the book and found it believable and well developed, some of the dialogue she uses is a bit awkward. It does not happen often but enough to be noticable. Overall, her message of good triumphing over evil once again works well in her plot, along with the light romantic interludes that give the novel a sentimental quality.
Rating: Summary: It was worth reading the first two books for this. Review: The first two books were OK at best but this one certainly caught my interest. Instead of being so very ickily sex oriented romance, this one focused on tenderness and you actually liking the couples.
Not to mention - VANYEL!!!
Rating: Summary: GO ELSPETH! ( And Darkwind, all ya guys!) Review: The Mage Winds trilogy is perfection. I have never reread anything as many times as I have read Elspeth's story - and this comes from someone who knows nearly every book she owns by heart, and who's books are so well loved and frequently read that they fall apart. All three are covered thickly with packing tape to keep them in some semblance of being in one piece. If you have any love of magic, read them. If you have any love of adventure, read them. If you have any degree of love of romance, humor, action, or intrigue, read them. Misty was able to rise to the difficult task of meeting the incredible story of Talia, and she achieved what could have been impossible - she rose above. I am a HUGE fan of all of Misty's Valdemar books - read them all! These three, however, are the ones I started with and the ones that got me hooked.
Rating: Summary: FURY LOVA Review: this book is the best out of the 3 winds series, i really like the way that Mercedes Lackey had put in kerowyn from by the sword, i really like that character, this book is really great n the author had given this really cool twist at the end bout that evil guy ... sorry cant give u more details... go read it urself
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: This book was awesome. Mercedes Lackey is truely a masterful storyteller, despite the similarity in plot of all three books in this series. She is AWESOME.
Rating: Summary: Winds Of Fury Review: This book Winds of Fury is one of those fantasy kinda stories. It has ways of explaining things in its own way. If you are into all that medieval stuff this book you must read. It has many things that were in the medieval times. Sorcery, Witchcraft, Sword Fighting etc. Its a good book, the 3rd one in the series. Winds Of Fury is well explained in some parts where people may get confused. If you really get into these kinda books, in some parts it explains things so good its like your in the book. It also makes everything seem fun and real not dull and fake. When there is fighting it explains every detail. The wounds, The blood, everything. I have not read the 1st and 2nd part, But after reading most of this book, its makes me want to look for the 1st and 2nd part and read them. This book is about this guy named Ancar Of Hardorn and he has tried over and over to take control the kingdom belonging to Valdemar. Ancar, as trying to seize control of the kingdom at any means at his control. This time Ancar may achieve his goal, since he harnesses the power of Mornelithe Falconsbane, the Dark Adept. he has set a magical strike agains Valemar. This has not been attempted in many years, 500 to be exact. Yet with Valdemars ancient spellgenerated ptotections. Queen Selenay the Herald Princess and her people could soon be Defenseless against Ancar. But as the long dormant magic of Valdemar begins to awaken. Elspeth finds that she too has a powerful spirit from a forgotten past.

Rating: Summary: perfect for one with imagination Review: This book(and the series in general) was just delightful! I would even say it is better than the Arrows series. Elspeth is a very intreaging charicter, for one thing and this book is a perfect ending to a wonderful story!!!
Rating: Summary: The best possible ending to the best possible trilogy! Review: This is a wonderful book. "Winds of Change" is my favorite book of all time, and is nearly tied with this book. Throughout the series Elspeth has gone to get tutored on her magic powers to use them in the defense of Valdemar, and in the process has fallen in love with a mage of the secretive Taledras people, gone to war against an ancient evil mage, scouted the "uncleansed lands", etc. And now she has come home with help in defense against Ancar the tyrant. I was very satisfied with the ending! I felt an empathy in this book just as in many other of Misty's books, and in short, I have this one piece of advice for you: Read the rest of the series first, but READ THIS BOOK! Any other Heralds of Valdemar, feel free to email me! :)
