Summary: Yawn...
Review: Zahn should leaving the Star Wars novels to Kevin J. Anderson. Never has it taken me so long to read a book. Zahn yammers on and on without saying much. Too many strange aliens which never appeared in the trilogy, and not enough of the main characters, espically Luke Skywalker. Too complicated, too many storylines, not enough action, and just plain uninteresting. One of the worst Star Wars novels to date.

Review: The "return" of Thrawn raises then smashes the hopes of Imperial followers. Zahn alludes to actions happened in other books, but then proceeds to tell us exactly when it happened. Allusions are good, but blatant references get in the way of an already weak plot.

Review: This book was a really good book and most of it was action-packed and exciting! I have to tell you, though, that some parts were not as good as they could have been. Most of the time I was on the edge of my seat, and at other times I was ready to fall asleep! Overall I liked it a lot. If you liked this book, I'm pretty sure you will like the next book, "Vision of the future", alot! It was exciting the whole way through, from cover to cover!

Review: Just wonderful. I never thought someone could write a book where NOTHING happens and you still love it. Don't be fooled by what I wrote: "nothing happens" is a way of saying it. In this book Zahn creates a complex web of political interests and treasons unmatched by anyone. A must read as well as its sequel, "Vision of the Future."

Review: Specter of the Past is a beautifully written book that follows up on his previously written trilogy about Grand Admiral Thrawn. It all starts with Thrawn's reincarnation, while the New Republic slowly breaks up over an issue of Bothan betrayal. If you liked his first trilogy, you'll love this!

Review: Like what other readers have posted, this is a must read, especially if you have read all the Star Wars literature. Zahn once again has created a page turner that keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. Can't wait for Vision of the Future!
