Summary: Breathes new life into this wonderful series
Review: I had read Chronicles series several times before picking up a copy of this book, but thanks to the notes within this volume it was like experiencing it for the first time again. Thoughts are expressed from not only the authors, but many people close to the writing of these books and of the Dragonlance setting as well. They provided insight into the views of the characters, events in the story, and even into the minds of it's creators. They don't just stop with insights, however, they also provide information on how events in the story were inspired, some of which leave the reader laughing hysterically. My only complaint would be that occasionally they point out multiple times in a single scene that something is related in more detail in another book in the Dragonlance saga, but this is rare.

Summary: From Skeptic to Fanatic
Review: For most of my 7th and 8th grade year, a few of my friends were chomping through these books while I found it easier to jump on the bandwagon and make fun of them for reading them. But then in 9th grade, I picked up one of the pre-cataclysm books and started to read it. I finally realized why they loved these books so much. They were a perfect mix of mystery, of magic, brute strength, mythical beasts, comedy and romance. I'd never read such perfectly balanced books in all my life. I found myself reading the books during the 9 months of school. When the school year had concluded, I had read 15 of the books from the DragonLance Saga. Each one was unique in its own way and gave you a different perspective on the entire land of Krynn through the eyes of different characters of seperate races. Ever since I started reading these books, my creativity has been stoked and I can't stop reading the books and writing my own stories.

Summary: Great High Fantasy
Review: While this is not the best written of books (Goodkind and Jordan are much better authors), the characters are great and the story simply flows. For anyone who reads fantasy literature or palys role-playing games, this book is a must. The annotations are good too.

Summary: Wow!
Review: Dragonlance: The Annotated Chronicles is a brilliant work of fantasy, adventure, action, and drama with a touch of mystery and romance. It is truly a unique book. Absolutely magnificent! A good story (Ok, so it's basically Bahamut vs. Tiamat just like in one out of every twelve AD&D quests, but it's still cool) with a cast of great, unforgetable characters. There's the slightly dull but brave and compassionate Caramon, the slightly sinister, highly cynical, power-hungry mage Raistlin, the comical Fizban (my favorite character), the happy-go-lucky little kender, Tasslehoff, the grumpy old dwarf, Flint, the naive elf, Laurana and her older brother, Gilthanas, they're adopted brother, Tanis, the power-hungry Dragon Highlord, Kitiara, the valiant and honorable Sturm, the mysterious Goldmoon and her companion, Riverwind, and many, many others. A must read!

Summary: A Truly Classic Book
Review: I have read through all of the reviews listed, and I am happy to know so many feel as I do about the DragonLance series. The annotations proved very helpful, and felt like you were sitting around a table discussing the books with a couple of close friends. At times Ms. Black's comments did get a teeny bit on the inane side, but overall I found it added even more to the experience. As for some people thinking that there were way too many "plugs" for other novels, if they hadn't been there I wouldn't have ever known about the next book in the Raistlin Chronicles! All I can say is that I hope they quickly follow this up with an annotated Legends!

Summary: A Fantasy Masterpiece
Review: After Lord of The Rings, this trilogy is the world's bestseller fantsy books. If you haven't read it yet, just give it a chance. this hardcover, of course, includes all of the trilogy. the most important thing about this book is, writer's comments. a suggestion: if you are reading the trilogy for the first time, don't read the comments, imho. they will be more valuable after you finished all the book.

Summary: These books were absolutely amazing
Review: My friends all think I am strange becuase I read books so much. When I got the Chronicles for my birthday I brought it to school and nobody thought I could read a 1,300 page book. Well, I read it all in less than six weeks.

Anyway, I really loved the books. The writing and storyline is extremely good. I don't think I've ever read a better book. If you haven't read these books, well, what are you waiting for? Go read it! You'll enjoy it! A lot!

Summary: Simply the best
Review: The Cronicles was one of the first fantasy series that I ever read and it got me hooked on it from the first five pages. These are, in my opinion the best fantasy books written. You don't just read about the adventures you feel as though you are a part of them. I just couldn't put these down. The humor that Tas, Flint and Fizban bring to the group is fantastic! Who can forget when the party first met Fizban with the tree. Or Tas and Fizban at Mount Nevermind. This series is a classic and encourage everyone to read it, not just fantasy lovers. If you are a fantasy lover and you haven't read this series--you must read it!

Summary: Good for me, maybe not for you
Review: This series is increadible. There are so many worlds and univerises created off of the writings of Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis, that it confounds the mind. I love the series and will read them again. However, this book is more for the fans of Dragonlance that have consumed all the material before. To read as you would for the first time is a terrible mistake. Go to your second hand book store and read the original three books, then buy this book once you've become recruited. I did.

Summary: A Fan =)
Review: A few years ago I began on a long journey into the world of Krynn and the epic adventure known as the Dragonlance Saga. I, like most began with several beat up copies of each book belonging to the masterpiece known as the Chronicle Trilogy. Since, I started I have read some forty odd Dragonlance Novels as well as many Tolkien and other famous Fantasy author's stories. But never have I forgotton the first fantasy book I read. And what a treat it has been these past few weeks as I reread the timeless adventure to discover not only what I forgot and never noticed the first time I read the novels, but also what the authors Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman as well as other members of the Dragonlance team were thinking throughout the story telling. This book is a must buy for any Dragonlance fan.
