Summary: Another Sci-fi delight from Tad Williams
Review: Part two of many books turns out to be the best of the 2 published so far. The way in which Tad makes each of his characters stand out from all that's happening in the scenes (which are more and more bazaar as the story progresses. I was never a fan of this genre of books until I picked up Tad Williams'

Summary: Volume two continues the excellent story ...
Review: Volume two of the Otherland series continues the excellent adventures of a group of people caught in a game-like virtual environment. The characters are wonderfully drawn and the writing elegant. I feel I am reading a series as noteworthy as the Lord of the Rings. This is truly one of the best books to ever cover the potential complexity virtual environments may yet achieve. I can't wait for volumes three and four. I haven't carried a book this fat on the plane in years but I couldn't leave it at home.

Summary: I couldn't put the darn book down
Review: I dont know why I started reading this book? Once I did, however, I just could not put it down. The tale is fabulous. The technology quite logical given the pace of computer generated science. The only negative is the remaining volumnes are not written yet. I understand that there is one or two remaining. I want them published now! And I don't want them to end!

Summary: Tad Williams needs an editor
Review: This whole shebang could have been written in 1000 pages. It is good, could be great if it wasn't so drawn out and, at times, unfocused.

I have liked both books but the story gets tedious after the fourtieth virtual world that the characters experience.

A good editor would have pared these four books down into one tight, cohesive but massive story in one book.

Summary: liked it
Review: i enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone that likes sci-fi. mr. williams is, however, rather predictable and anyone that likes suspense or hates being able to think ahead of the author won't like the book. i just want to know why the publisher didn't want all four books before the first one was published so that they could set the release date up for christmas of every year ensuring high sales. that would make more sense than just waiting for him to turn them out like stephen king and his damn gunslinger series.

Summary: Stunning! Tas Williams has done an amazing job.
Review: Tad Williams, Continuing the Otherland series masterfully, has painted a picture that leads readers to feel caught up in the reading. A real page turner. Five Stars.

Summary: Intricate, complex, exhausting
Review: I had to take a couple of breaks and read other, lighter books in order to finish "River of Blue Fire." It was a taxing read, gripping and sometimes horrifying. Its pace is slow, but I was afraid of missing an important detail, so I only read when I was alert and prepared to comb each sentence for meaning. At least three new--probably pivotal--characters have been added, and I am anxious to see what their roles will be. I am beginning to understand, and occasionally pity, the members of the Grail Brotherhood even as I despise them. Williams weaves a complicated web. I wouldn't want to miss a single thread of it. His sense of humor is wonderful, and the details of each adventure are crisp and terrifically readable. If the author's intent was to show off his incredible imagination, that's okay by me. I'm impressed, but also fascinated. The cartoon kitchen world would not be my choice of places to visit, but I was spell-bound by the richness of description...not cartoonish at all.

So does anyone have a clue about when the next installment will be published?

Summary: Patience is not a virtue!
Review: I loved this continuing book by Tad Williams. The story takes a while to get used to, but you get the sense that this will be a joy ride. I found that the characters grow on me and that I care about them. I have been waiting to read the second of four books for sometime. I can't wait to see how Mr. Williams is going to end this story. I hope that the ending mirrors real life as much as the story has. I have little patience waiting for the next release of the series.

Summary: Definite turn on for not so typical sci-fi readers
Review: This is the most refreshing story line to hit the market in years. I don't mind waiting for new volumes it gives me time to read them over again and compare with his other hits like memory, sorrow, and thorn trilogy of which seems much more on the hobbit theme. I'm impressed with Williams vision into the future and can't wait for volume 3. Great research and imagination on Williams part.

Summary: Most Excellent!!!
Review: Tad Williams has once again utterly excelled at creating a complex, breathtaking and fully realised fantasy world,as he did in the series Memory,Sorrow and Thorn. On a par with what Clive Barker achieved with "Imajica" and what Stephen King intends to achieve with "The Dark Tower"series,Mr.Williams has certainly extended one's appreciation of the fantastic, epic and wonderful. If you're into intelligent fantasy on a large scale, dudes, read this sucker!!! Here's hoping Mr. Williams finishes this story before the end of the year 2000(unlikely,but let's hope so!)I thoroughly enjoyed this and recomend it with the full complement of stars. Way to go dude!!!
