Rating: Summary: One of Edding's best...... Review: I have been a fan of Edding's ever since I recieved the Belgariad for my eleventh birthday, and I have to say that the Elenium is his best work ever. Realistic characters, as opposed to the absolutely good or evil ones you find in Salvatore's work, combine with a smooth narrative and intricate plot to make this book great reading. The only thing I had against it was that in a few instances, Edding's manipulates the dialogue around so that he can deliver a line he thought was clever. Besides that, a great book!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put this book down! Review: I put this book down 3 times, and started reading it again within fifteen minutes. Put aside a solid 10 hours for this book!
Rating: Summary: Awesome! The Best Book I Have Ever Read!!! Review: I thought this book was beyond words. I hated books and hadn't picked one up since I was 7! But when i hit 8th grade, my English teacher forced us to read and I'm glad he did because this book is spectacular. The characters are so real! The adjectives the author uses almost lets you see the Knights! The plot keeps you guessing till the very end! If you love sci-fi or knights then i immensely recommend this book! Thanks David Eddings!
Rating: Summary: A Great BOOK! Review: I thought this book was well written and extremely exciting. If you don't enjoy this book, you must have a very limited mind and imagination. The books of the elenium and the tamuli are some of my favorite works I have ever read. Also, people in a story don't have to be like people in real life in order to enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Addictive! Review: In his sequel to The Diamond Throne, Eddings spends more time developing the characters as well as taking the reader on a whirlwind quest for Bhelliom. This book was one that I couldn't put down. I took it everywhere with me and read it until it was DONE. It left me wanting more. I recommend it to all you fantasy readers out there. I liked it much more than The Diamond Throne!
Rating: Summary: Ruby Knight Review: Loved it. Eddings keeps his plot moving along @ a good pace. Invested in 1st bk. & had to continue w/all bks. in this series. Recommend this Eddings series to all.
Rating: Summary: Thank heavens there's only one more book to go! Review: Oh my. This book is terrible. The only reason why I gave it one star instead of a bagel is because there is some decent writing, but if you broke down the book it would only consist of about four pages. Sadly, the big secret in the book (the quest for the Bhelliom) was given away in the prologue of the first book. I sincerely don't even know why Eddings included the concept of the wrong spot to search for the Bhelliom. Another big secret was also quite obvious as soon as the first hint was given. All I'll say is that you know who Flute really is as soon as she starts talking. The worst aspect of the book is the terrible concept of 'Oh yeah, there's also this really, really bad evil guy (seeker) who wasn't even mentioned in the first book but will be the main badguy for half the book.' It makes it seem as if Eddings threw him together just for the sake of variety. The humor, or lack of it, doesn't give the book a leg to stand on either. Only read it if you're like me - you're devoted to a series once you started it and will read EVERY book of the series. Other than that, avoid it like the plague.
Rating: Summary: Oh please.... Review: Oh please...let me show real credibility with the summary of an event... Great hero in disguise manages to get one on one meeting with religious leader of millions by declaring that he is brother to important king. No documentation is produced to prove this. Religious leader then changes policy based on a message made up on the spur of the moment by great hero. Once again no documentation is produced. What a joke. Read something else.
Rating: Summary: Stomach churning characters, flimsy plot Review: One of the most feeble works of fantasy that I've ever read. The dialogue made me cringe, and the plot was pathetic. If anyone says "Be nice" to me in real life, I will probably feel inclined to hit them, thanks to its repetitious and extremely irritating use in this book. The plot? Unmittigated rubbish without a spark of originality anywhere. One of the very worst fantasy books I've ever read. Spend your money on something more worthwhile.
Rating: Summary: Master Eddings does it again. Review: ROCL AND ROLL! Bring it on! I have never read anything like Eddings, and this is more of the same. Non stop plot, Spehrenia's jibes at just about everybody and an outstanding background to boot. Hooray for a decent author!
