Rating: Summary: Light-hearted even for this series, but good Review: The Myth series, of course, never takes itself too seriously. This one was even more light-hearted than most, and I can see why many reviewers were disappointed.Still, I wasn't disappointed at all. This book, like the others in the series with M.Y.T.H. in the title, is mostly written from the perspective of Skeeve's friends. In this case, Guido has most of the spotlight. He gets wind that some of Possiltum's populace thinks Skeeve has ensorcelled the queen to gain control, instead of offering aid at her request. Not wanting to trouble Skeeve, he informs the rest of M.Y.T.H. and they start an investigation. Hilarity ensues, of course. A lot of major story arcs come to a close - I almost thought that Asprin was ending the series completely. Apparently he isn't, though, since Amazon lists a new Myth Series with Asprin and Jody Lynn Nye as the authors, coming out later this year.
Rating: Summary: Something Myth Inc. Review: The something missing was a story. The book appears to be an outline that wound up being published. The only part of the story that had any meat was uninteresting and the rest was unsatisfying. It appears that Mr. Asprin was only going through the motions to complete his contract for this book. Mr. Asprin's writer block was very obvious and the only good comment is that he at least tried to meet his commitment. The book was long delayed (it even wasn't available in September as it was advertised) and should have remained Mything in Action. Since you don't allow 0 starts, this had to be rated 1 star.
Rating: Summary: Which Publisher Does Asprin Use? Review: This is not so much a review as a question. Did Asprin suddenly switch publishers, and if so why? The other publisher was much better and did a much more professional job. Frankly, I found this cover and edition to be rather disgusting.
Rating: Summary: no myth-stake, skeeve and co. are back Review: This is the final volume (as I understand it anyway) to Robert Asprin's Myth series. It's sad to see all our old friends--Skeeve, Aahz, Tanda, Guido, Bunny, etc--but the book does feel like it is time. It doesn't feel like Asprin has any more to add to the series, and he wraps it all up rather nicely. This is also one of those revolving viewpoint novels, though Skeeve's pov is included. It's a nice end to a great series.
Rating: Summary: Sad ending to such a good beginning... Review: This series started off so well! The first few books of the M.Y.T.H. series is so fun and entertaining... and this one just feels like Robert Lynn Asprin is just trying to get it over and done with. Well, mission accomplished, and I don't think anyone will be begging for more!
Rating: Summary: Ouch! That was painful. Review: Very disappointing conclusion to the series. The story meandered for a short time and then just gave up. Other than an ending to the series I have no idea what the point of this book was.

Rating: Summary: Very disappointing Review: Waited a long time for this book. Not even up to the standard of Mythion Improbable, which I thought was a decent, lightish story in the MYTH series tradition. However, this book was a complete let down. No character development, very little plot development, and a jarring "let's-wrap-up-this-series-as-fast-as-possible" ending. Oh well.. David
