Summary: Can you say junk?
Review: This is the worst Star Wars book I have read. If anybody wants to read this don't spend the money, get it from a library. The charactrers don't even act like themselves. Please, can you see Leia marrying another guy after she and Han connected in ESB and ROTJ? I don't. The author obviously didn't do his research on Star Wars. The only redeeming quality of this book is it created the Wraith Squadron books for X-Wing. At least Wolverton made one good character, that being Zsinj. Also can you imagine the Falcon destroying a Super Star Destroyer.

Summary: Overall, pretty good, but....
Review: This book I found to be enjoyable, it incorporates an element rarely seen in SW books: humor. I loved the scene where Luke is flying the Falcon in three positions using the Force, and his other uses of the Force in this novel... it's a shame you never see him do it later on! I loved all of those parts. The way the story on Dathomir was told was very good. We already knew pretty much how things would turn out, but nonetheless Wolverton managed to write a decent book anyway. This book felt like Star Wars.

But Leia and Han were both *remarkably* out of character at times. I found the whole idea of Leia falling for some other guy and giddy over him because he's hot and rich pretty lame, and all of a sudden she doesn't seem to care for Han, after all that happened in the movies? And Han resorting to kidnapping her? I don't think so, the Han Solo we knew would have found something better to win back his lady love. Of course if he hadn't done that we wouldn't have gone to Dathomir, and wouldn't have a story. And, I read the novel looking forward to seeing their wedding, and it only gets half a page. What? Wasn't that what the whole novel is supposed to lead up to? Now I've never really been much of a Han/Leia fan, I would rather have seen her end up with someone more like Luke. But weddings are rare in SW, and this is probably the most important (aside from Anakin and Amidala, obviously...), and it deserved a little more book time. These sound like big complaints, but they aren't as huge as this review makes them look.

But this is still a good novel, not on the level of Zahn, but anyway a good read, IMO.

Summary: AN EXTREMELY HILARIOUS BOOK
Review: I am not really that much of a Star Wars fan, but this book caught my interest when a Star Wars- lover brought it to my attention. Initially, I was just trying to find out what will happen to Leia and Han after Return of the Jedi; therefore, I was not really prepared to find someone that I actually admire (sort of) in this book--that person is Teneniel. When she first appeared in the book, she did not seem to be anyone special, except for branding herself as a weirdo by her "spouse hunting". However, as the story progresses, I find her to be a reasonable, strong, and spunky person--especially when she stood up to the Ta'a Chume towards the end of the book. If you are a Star Wars fan, you will not be disappointed in this book. Hope you will find Teneniel just as likable as I did.

Summary: Awesome way to get Leia and Han together
Review: This book is an awesome way to tie up the loose ends for Leia and Han. Instead of just getting them married period, they have a huge duel between Isolder and Han. The only problem is that it seems like this book gets lost in the series. Like whatever happened to the Hapans from which the Alliance got a huge amount of help? What happened to all the money they got? What did Luke do with the Chu'Unthor? Other than that, I liked how the witches were able to use the force so well and how they take on the others. I was also impressed with the sacrifice Han was about to make for Leia at the end. This is a great book and I highly recomend it.

Summary: Disappointing, to say the least
Review: I should have known--the cover of the hardback copy of "Courtship" (that I got from my library) depicts a very weird and different-looking Leia in a bridal gown. That should have been the tip-off that almost nothing in this book is portrayed accurately. I find it incredibly hard to believe that the loyal Leia would just drop Han like yesterday's trash and pick up with some random cutie just because he's hot and has lots of money. This plotline (unfortunately the central plotline of the book) made me angry, on behalf of women everywhere--it portrays Leia, and indeed women in general, as flighty, ditzy girls who don't think twice about ditching their old sweeties for someone new and supposedly better. Han bothered me, too, when he kidnapped Leia--he displayed out-of-character possessive tendencies that were just not consistent with Han at all. The book was, at times, excessively gory (especially in the last scene with the Witches of Dathomir), probably to make up for the lack of continuity with the three Star Wars movies and other, better Star Wars novelizations (case in point: the Timothy Zahn series). By the end, I got the feeling that Leia was marrying Han just so he'd shut up and leave her alone! Just about everything in this book made me feel angry and insulted. The one redeeming value that saves it from one-stardom: the sabaac game in which the planet Dathomir exchanges hands.

Summary: "The Courtship of all Star Wars"
Review: You will not be able to put this book down. It has a really good love story, so much action to make it right to fit into the love story. This isn't a good book, its a great one. Luke is put to the test, as well as Leia. But, after all, it will end happily ever after... for now!!

Summary: Excellent Star Wars Novel!
Review: I loved this book. I could hardly put it down the whole time I was reading it. This was my first Star Wars novel, but now that I've read this, I think I'm going to buy all the others. The original characters were captured wonderfully, and it gave us a look at a new group of characters and species. Definately worth the money, and with more plot than would fit in a movie.

Summary: The best Star Wars book by far!!!!!!
Review: This book was so good! I couldn't put it down. Now I must admit that I am a huge Han and Leia fan. After I saw the movies, I went out to see if they had a book that went in to the Han and Leia relationship more. This was better than the movies because it went into more detail. I also thought that Teneniel Djo was a really cool character.I reccommend this book to everyone who has ever watched Star Wars.

Summary: A good book that stands on its own.
Review: Most people will like this book because it has a lot of Force-using action. Also, I found the Han and Leia plot, where Han kidnaps Leia and takes her to Dathomir for a supposed vacation, is just excellent. Luke is put to the test by Gethzerion, a Force-using witch who has fairly strong powers in the Force. If you aren't ready to read a whole trilogy yet, then read this book, because it's exciting and wraps up everything fairly well by the last page.

Summary: This book is my favorite Star Wars book of all time!
