Rating: Summary: the betrayal of princess leia Review: Did Dave Wolverton ever read a star wars book? Has he seen the movies? HE totally destroyed the relationship they had at the end of the movies. Leia was *NASTY* to Han, dropping him the minute someone "better" came along. She acted as if he had no right to get upset as if they only dated once or something. Han acted whiney but who could blame him? They were totally out of character. Especially Luke. If i were Han I would have made Leia come crawling back on her hands and knees.
Rating: Summary: A love story that spans a war-torn galaxy. Review: I have read a number of Star Wars books and other books and this is one of the best. Princess Leia has to choose between a handsome prince of 63 high tech worlds or the rugged smuggler, Han Solo. Han kidnaps leia and brings her to the planet Dathomir. This is one of the best books because it has action & suspence. My favorite combonation.
Rating: Summary: Great Book should be read by all who like Star Wars. Review: This is a great book to read. I laughed when Han said he gloated to the warlord, saying how he blew up his stardestroyer and said something like kiss my wookie. I cryed when Han said goodbye to Leia when he turned himself into the witches, and he was going to blow them up with a grenade, he knew he would not make it out alive, and thought it was going to be the last time he would ever see Leia. You can tell that Luke has turned into a great Jedi, he has learned patience very well. As some people have already pointed out, Wolverton did not know the characters very well. But otherwise, there was a good story line to it.
Rating: Summary: Can we say "romanctic"? Review: I love this book. It's totally romantic and very touching. I was like almost crying when Han goes on that suicide mission and has to say goodbye to Leia for what he thinks may be the last time. It's even better than the scene is ESB when she tells him she loves him. Any true Star Wars fan or romantic will like this and I definitely recommend it. They're so cute when they fight (and make up...)
Rating: Summary: a silly and boring story Review: The author doesn't seem to know anything about the characters or the story. Leia would never consider marring anyone else even for the new republic. I couldn't believe she would just brush Han off like that. And Han would not turn into such a needy Whiner. Luke also was a dissapointment. He and Han are best friends and yet he doesn't defend him. Aweful Book.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but he doesn't know the characters. Review: The overall books isn't bad--but it certainly isn't great. Wolverton has Threepio, for example, speaking *completely* out of character, saying things like "Darnit!" and addressing characters by their first names (did he *EVER* do this in the movies?! NO!). Additionally, Leia's quite cold-hearted, forgetting han instantly, Isolder is a cookie-cutout, and Wolverton seems to be expressing some hidden fantasies about female domination throughout the book. And...Rancors tackling AT-ATs? I think not.
Rating: Summary: WHERE'S THE WEDDING? Review: THE COURTSHIP OF PRINCESS LEIA is a really good book. Its only flaw is the fact that Han and Leia's wedding is described in one page.
Rating: Summary: Good book. It abides by the Star Wars theme. Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. Since Episode 1 was so hyped up everyone forgot about Luke and the characters from the first trilogy. I reccomend this book for anyone who wants to follow up on the story right after The Return of The Jedi. This book really abides by the Star Wars theme. It has a very cinematic quality to it. And the evil witches who are Luke's enemies are pretty scary.
Rating: Summary: This book is pretty good. Review: I like that the empire has a new leader, Grand Admiral Thrawn, although it is quite annoying when he always knows what the New Republics next move is. I Hate Mara Jade, she gets on my nerves so much! Why in the world does she hate Luke so much? No wait, don't tell me, I can figure this out. Oh ya! She thinks that Luke ruined her life because he killed Jabba. (She supposedly was in Return of the Jedi) Actually Leia killed Jabba. Oh ya, she hates Luke because she was working for Emperor Palpantine, and she thinks Luke killed him. NewsFlash Mara! Darth Vader killed him.
Rating: Summary: Good, but Luke's too perfect Review: This book is really good, but a few things bug me. 1) Luke is portrayed as this all-knowing magic man. This really irritates me. The Jedi weren't perfect. 2) Leia becomes a sobbing ditz in the beginning. She is not the type to fall into Isolder's arms, agreeing with everything he says, including to dump her lover and run off to Hapes. Other then that, I just love it! I laughed for a very long time at the part when Teneniel captures Luke and Isolder! It's so funny! I'm also glad to find out where rancors come from. They are so cool! I was both incredibly happy and hopping mad when Luke killed Jabba's rancor in ROTJ. Please write more!
