Summary: The best fantasy book I've ever read
Review: I can't recommend the Nightrunner books *enough*. Each one has been a page-turner that I could not put down once I started. I recently reread Luck In The Shadows, and still couldn't put it down, even knowing what happened. A fantastic, adventurous plot, great characters, a sense of humor, and a good fantasy world that you can immerse yourself in. I particularly admire the sensitive way the development of the main characters' relationship is handled throughout the three books.

Summary: Da bomb
Review: This is one of the best fantasys I've come across. I'm a very picky reader, so to satisfy me my books have to have the real "epic" flavour. Luck in the Shadows not only fulfills that particular need of mine, it is also a gripping tale with cool characters that causes me to neglect schoolwork. Seregil and Mardus are among the coolest characters I know!

Summary: Short review and summary of Luck in the Shadows...
Review: Luck in the Shadows is really one of my favorite books this summer. Flewelling is very good at adding little details here and there, and yet not over-flowing the book with them. There are just enough twist and turns to keep the reader interested, and the fast pace at which Luck in the Shadows goes at makes it much more exciting than most other books I've read so far. The characters are each very unique. They have different ways of doing things, different thoughts, and all in all, different souls. Nothing is repetitious. Nothing I've found anyhow. I really highly suggest this book. It's a book that I've read about twice already in the time period of four days. Once you pick it up, you really don't want to put it down. I know, cause I stayed up till 3:00a.m., reading this one. *Grins* I'm sure you'll love it. I can almost guaruntee it.

Summary: I lost interest in the second book
Review: I enjoyed the first book very much, however, the second book duplicated the first and I began to lose interest.

Summary: This is the best new fantasy novel I've read in years.
Review: I loved this book so much, that I drove fifty miles (one way!) back to the store where I got it to buy the sequel, which was unavailable locally. Characters and plot unfold at a perfect pace and are unique enough to satisfy an avid reader who gets bored with the "same old thing." I lent both this and its sequel to a friend -- after finishing the first, she just had to read the first chapter of the second.... she finished it at 4AM. Everyone I've talked into reading it has had the same experience.

Summary: Hard to put down. Original characters have great depth.
Review: Very original in content and spirit. Many surprises in store. To miss this one is a great loss for fantasy fans. I was lucky to discover this first book of the series at a used bookstore. It was the lack of availability of the second book in other bookstores that led me to amazon.com. I was desperate to read it! The second is just as good. I cannot wait for the third. Buy these books at once! You will not be sorry.

Summary: Most Excellent
Review: This is easily one of the best books I have ever read. From the beginning to end, the book is exciting and well paced. I was on a break from the Jordan..Wheel of Time thingy and saw a description on Amazon.com and ordered book 1 and 2 in the Nightrunner series. When they arrived I read both books in 4 days. I even called in sick on Monday to finish book 2. Most excellent. I only wish I didn't have to wait until Summer 1999 to see what happens in book 3. I only hope book 3 has more on Thero--Nysander's apprentice. He is dreamy.

Summary: excellent character development. Genuinely compelling plot.
Review: I developed a real empathy for Seregil and Alec because of their sympathetic and understanding nature. I appreciated the action pact approach to the story. I look forward to many adventures portraying these characters. I developed an empathy for the characters Seregil and Alec because of their sympathetic and understanding attributes. I am looking forward to more adventures with these characters.

Summary: One of the greats!
Review: This book is one of my favorites! The characters pasts are in the shadow and that just makes it all the more interesting! If you like the works of Robert Jordan and Terry Goodkind then you just have to read this series too!

Summary: Wow! One of the best I've read in a while.
Review: From start to finish a great read! The main characters are all well thought out and you can't help but flinch when the heroes get in a tight spot. Lynn Flewelling has created a unique world and peopled it with intriguing characters, both good and bad. I've also read "Stalking Darkness" and I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series.
