Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Best fantasy in a decade Review: As amazing as the first book in the series was, this one is better.Where the first book had the characters wound into the root and fighting to escape, this book has them spread out, fighting to get back together. Rarely will you pick up any book, much less one in a series, as tightly woven as this one. There's more of everything good from the first book: the multidimensional characters, the dead-on conversation, the humor, the descriptive vision. In addition, Haydon has the richest walk-on characters and the most vivid folklore of anyone writing today. This is no 'spells-out-of-a-basket' factory product. She gives the reader the unique sense that the world makes sense, and that it is aging, moving, beyond the scope of the main characters, that what they're after is also after them. To top it off, Haydon has, if possible, sharpened the already brilliant writing. All fantasy readers should get this book. Tell your friends who are readers of mysteries, romance and history that this is the book to branch out with.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Worth every penny and the wait Review: I thought I was going to die at the end of Rhapsody, especially since I had bought it as soon as it became available on Amszon in August and knew I had to wait until now to see it. I got my copy yesterday and stayed up all night and into this morning to read it. It was well worth it! What an amazing tale this is--it's absolutely intoxicating. Ms. Haydon is the only fantasy author I have ever read that can make me cry, laugh and gasp out loud. There are several scenes in this book that are so scary that I had to get up once and turn on other lights in the house. The love scenes are the most real and the most touching I have ever seen, while the battles had me gripping the pages. This is another wonderful book by a fantastic new author sure one day to be spoken of in the same ranks as Eddings, Jordan, and Goodkind.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Haydon's done it again! Review: As hard as it was for me to believe that an author could make magic of this intensity twice, Elizabeth Haydon has repeated the glory, and in fact surpassed RHAPSODY, in the sequel, PROPHECY. The book picks right up where the first left off, and lets loose action twice as fast as before. This book, unlike the single point of view in RHAPSODY, splits into two fronts, following Achmed and Grunthor through mysterious ruins in Canrif to discover deep magic and tragic answers there. In the meanwhile, Rhapsody and Ashe travel westward to find the ancient lair of the fierce and mighty dragon Elynsynos. PROPHECY is full of mystery and magic, more action, romance, sadness and trimph. It also has some of the most beautiful "music" [well, lyrics] I have ever read. I could hear the tunes in my head as I read the words. I HIGHLY recommend this book. I read every fantasy I can get my hands on, and I don't believe I have ever read better epic fnntasy than this, at least any that was written in the second half of the 20th century.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An awesome experience Review: This trilogy is an awesome undertaking from start to finish. In "Prophecy" the three companions find themselves in the middle of an assassination plot, and Rhapsody must race across the continent to stop it. All the while they seek to avoid war, and find the f'dor before it is too late. You'll laugh at their antics, and be on the edge of your seat at other times. Truly a masterful work, worth every page.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Outstanding! Review: Elizabeth Haydon has truly conveyed the essence of Fantasy writing. Her detail and background which she gives the read allows one to picture the scene in one's head perfectly. Her story line has action, love, mystery, twists, and saddness. Haydon allows such growth for the characters in the second and opens more controversy for the plot. What is most unbelievable is how easily the story flows, not choppiness or wonders of "huh?" The story travels from The Teeth, to a Dragon's lair, to huts behind waterfalls, and lets the reader get to know the characters that introduced during the end of the first of the trilogy.
Haydon's humor also shines. This is not merely just action and background but she has quite a few funny, sarcastic moments which, definitely makes one chuckle outloud. Thanks to the connection you make with the characters it makes it seem like you are really there when the jokes are being made.
Her characters have such personality it makes it so simple to connect with one of them... whether it is Rhapsody (the lost soul trying to do good and find happiness), Ashe (a secretive man who deals with torment day in and day out), Grunthor (the friendly good hearted guy, loyal, and constantly looking out for his true friends), or Achmed (the mysterious, sarcastic, skilled, deadly, intellect) or any of the many other subcharacters Haydon offers.
Truly a wonderful 2nd book to the trilogy, and excellent fantasy novel in general.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Series EVER! Review: Those of you contemplating on whether or not to buy the book, consider this. Many people in the world dont know what kind of books they like and read just some random one. They may have chosen to read Rhapsody. Remember that everyone has different thoughts on sertain things and may have not liked the book. Whatever they thought, dismiss it. I have read both books and am currently reading the third, Destiny. I have been hooked on all of the books so much that I have recommended them to others, just as they were recommended to me. Some say that Achmed is a mean character and "he is selfish", and some "loath him" but his character is... well...perfect...for what he has been through. The way he is presented after Rhapsody leaves in the second book is so full of hidden love. She is perfect and he is afraid for her. Now, Gunthor. He is like a big brother, and a loving one at that. He helps Rhaps through the root and loves her as much as Achmed. It is so hard to explain all the good things that go on in this book, I want to say them all, but I think that might ruin it for you. The way that Haydon writes, skipping around and leaving people out till later, just attracts your attention and keeps you reading. I just couldn't put it down. The second book is like 700 pages and I read it in a week. Between Haydon and Kate Elliot, another writer who is like Haydon, there is no other writer I would rather spend reading. I RECOMMEND READING THIS SERIES!!!!!!! She just returns the charaters every time to you as the wonderful people she made them. READ IT!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the Best Fantasy Books I've Ever Read!!! Review: Rhapsody was a good book. Prophesy is an absolutely fantastic book. The first book needed a lot of time to set up the basic story, and there was a lot of stuff that was confusing. Elizabeth Hayden took all of those loose ends in Prophesy and spun the most magnificent story from it. I just simply couldn't put the book down. Everything about the story was excellent. All of the charachters, especially Achmed are terrific, and the book has all the qualities needed to make a great book: Good action sequences, intense emotional situations, comic relief, a bit of eroticism, and charachters and plots that you can truly believe in. I especially liked the scene when Ashe and Rhapsody realized who they truly were (i.e. Sam & Emily) - it really was one of the best chapters in a book I've ever read!!! I'm now reading Destiny and then Requium of the Sun, and am confident that I'll enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed the first two books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I loved the whole series! Review: The entire Symphony of Ages series is just great! Prophecy is the secod novel in the series after Rhapsody and before Destiny and Requium of the Sun. There are some more novels and a short story coming for this series as well. I love the characters of Rhapsody, Achmed, Grunther and Ashe. Jo sometimes gets on my nerves, but the book is just great! It continues the story of The Three as they further their knowledge in the fight against evil. We see them grow closer and change and I just loved the book and the history that Haydon sets here. She has created a whole world and I haven't found any flaws yet (which seems a big accomplishment with novels lately). BUT you have to read Rhapsody first!!!
