Rating: Summary: All the Horror without the long hours of gaming Review: I read this book after I played about every version of the game and found that I was still scared. Even though you may think that this book is targeted for kids, or gaming nerds, I think you will find that this book with leave all ages keeping the lights on at night. Perry really brings you into the lives of the characters and gives you much more insight on what is going on than you find in the game. When I think of a book about zombies and monsters, I think of old boring and stupid movies. This book proves that zombies and monsters can still be very scary. Don't pass this book up. You will not put it down.
Rating: Summary: Itchy. Tasty. Again Review: This book was totally a butt-kikin' zombie likin' taaaasty book. (that means good) I havn't read the other ones, but I doubt their this good. However, I think the ones that gave it like one star didnt play the game. But I, myself havnt played the first one much, but beat the second one, and I love it. The besst line in the book would be Chris sayin' "Bite me." (You'll see.) And to all the little ones out there that wanna read it, GO FOR IT! I'm not actally old enough to read it, infact, I'm extremely surprised the store clerk sold it to me. Dont have your parents read the fine print on the bottom on the back. Just tell 'em Its called "Resident Non-evil. It worked for me. Well, I like the book, thats pretty much it. GO BUY IT! (all those who possess $[money] of course)
Rating: Summary: Good book Review: I have only just thought to read the resident evil books, having heard of them about 2 years ago, it never really occured to me that i should read them. Luckily it did occur to me a couple of weeks ago whilst browsing this webpage. Wow, it has to be said, this is a good book. Although I already knew exactly what was going to happen having played the games relentlessly since 1995. The book starts off before the games does. This book does focus a lot more on Jill than any of the other characters, which is no bad thing. S.D. perry does give the characters more depth then they have in the game, for example, Joseph a character in the game that dies in the opening sequence is given more of a prominant role in the opening, and i felt that a lot more could be had from this character, you'll almost feel sorry for him when he dies near the start of the story. The book is very descriptive when it comes to describing areas and monsters, but does seem to rely on you already having played the game for certain areas of the book. All in all though, this was a very good read.
Rating: Summary: best book ever written! Review: I highly reccommend this book to older readers because of the graphic descriptions and swearing. The problem is-S.D. Perry id not so well at describing the areas that the characters are in. And everybody sighs inwardly, therefore I would rate it 4 S.T.A.R.S....,lol.
Rating: Summary: Best of the series! Review: The Umbrella Conspiracy was my favorite of the books, like Resident Evil was my favorite of the games, followed by City of the Dead and Resident Evil 2. It is somewhat simple, not a lot of detail but enough to let you know whats going on. The storyline makes up for anything lost. There couldn't be anything better except (this means you Miss Perry) they should rewrite the book to fit in with the remake. The original was good, but the remake blows it away, and the story would too.
Rating: Summary: terrible book! Review: Pardon my french but...this book bites the big one! i mean come on! zombies with butt cheeses?!?!
Rating: Summary: Good book for a good game Review: When I first played the game Resident Evil I was totally hooked on it and couldn't stop playing it. Years later I picked up this book exited by seeing a book on one of my all time favorite games: Resident Evil. I bought it but never read it until recently. The book is defenately good and describes the story very well and even expands on it! But it did not maintain the same creepy feeling that the game did, hence one star was removed from the score. We just about all know the story of Resident Evil, but for those ignorant to it's magnificent plot I'll summerize it breifly: the Ubrella Corporation had been conducting experiments in a mansion isolated from the nearby city. However, the S.T.A.R.S. team was unknowing of what the mansion's true purpose was. And due to some late distubing murders that took place around Racoon City, suspicions led to something going on inside the mansion. So the Alpha team was sent in but upon arrival contact was lost, and the Bravo team was sent in after them. And so the story begins... So all in all this book is quite good, and almost a must read for every Resident Evil fan or anybody who simply wants to read a good book. -Son Akira
Rating: Summary: Da Best Book Ev'a Review: Even though I've beaten all of the games about six times I started to get an interist in the books. I just bought 4 of these books from S.D. Perry and just got done reading this one. This one is about the first game. It goes through the story going back and forth from each and every character telling their storylines. It even tells what happend before they went into the mansion. This book was a lot more like playstation Re 1 than the Gamecube resident evil 1 because it was made only two years after the playstation Re1 came out which was in 1996. The Gamecube one came out 2002. I rate this book 5 stars+ Right now I judging this as the best book I've ever read but I still have the other three to decide which is the best.
Rating: Summary: Suspensfull and well written Review: I've been a fan of the resident evil video game series since the release of RE2 in 1998. Amazingly, i've played every resident evil game EXCEPT the first. that includes the shootout game and versiona for playstation, dreamcast and gamecube. Needless to say, this was a great read and i fininshed it rather quickly. i here it follows the game quite well, so i think i might go out and buy the game. I have the 3rd and 5th book too (they're based of the RE2 and NEMISIS video games) but haven't read them yet, be cause after reading the first one, i think i want to read them in order. if the otheres are anything like the first, i'm sure i will be more than pleased.
