Rating: Summary: (...) Review Review: (...)Book: Resident Evil Author: S.D. Perry Summary: A company named Umbrella was the leading company to sell all kinds of things from food to play toys and guns. They have a secret underground lab under a town called Raccoon City. Down in this lab they experiment on all kinds of different viruses and anti viruses. Over this underground lab there is a cover up or a mansion to make it look like there is nothing unordinary. A virus some how is dropped or released so the Hive (lab) goes into a lock down. It releases these gases that knocks out anyone that is inside the Hive or inside the mansion. Claire is inside the Hive and she gets knocked out by this gas. About 3 hours later she wakes up and doesn't remember anything that happened or anything about herself or her life. These army men or special forces people break into the mansion and take Claire down this hidden stairway into the Hive. They are trying to explain to her that some how a virus has broken out and they are trying to get into the Hive mainframe to shut it down. When they get down in the Hive everyone is dead and there is no sign of what had happened. As they are trying to get into the Mainframe they encounter a Survivor or what they think is one. They try and help the person but she goes crazy and becomes into this walking mindless zombie. All the people that were in the Hive are Zombies and they only have 2 hours to get out... while they succeed. Review: I liked this book because it showed a lot of detail and it had a lot of mysteries at the end of each chapter to make you want to keep reading. It also started out on a cliffhanger. It made you think about what was going to happen next and made you think if they were going to get out of the Hive or they were going to die in this underground lab with these walking Zombies. I also thought this was a great mystery book because you didn't know how the virus got out or who was going to turn on the Special forces team. I would recommend this book to anyone that like's horror books or mystery books. I would also recommend this book to people that like zombies and a lot of fiction things that could happen.
Rating: Summary: Creepy Review: I read this book after my friend had talked me into playing the first three games on the PS1. I thought the games were brilliant and when I saw this book in the local bookshop I coughed up the cash immediatly. The book sticks to the story of the game really well and even biulds the characters. It starts with an extremely omminous feel and builds up to the exciting zombie dog chase though the forest to the mansion. I do think the book reveals a bit to much of the conspiracy too early on in the book but otherwise a fantastic read, it gives the game a whole new depth and enjoyment when you play them after reading the book.
Rating: Summary: This is a mad thriller! Review: This is a good book if you like action packed books. It jumps around a lot so you have to pay attention so you can remember what is going on. If you don't you will get confused and either stop reading it or have to restart the whole book. I had to read it two times before I understood it. It has a lot of stuff you will miss if you don't read it two times or if you read it to fast. It is about a group of Special Forces officers and one of their teams gets lost and they have to find them and end up getting chased by murderous dogs. They run into a mansion that ends up being a death trap. Later on they find that one of the team members is a traitor and bribes them to help him or he will kill their families. This book has some gross parts so you can't have a weak stomach or you will want to stop reading. This is a good book I suggest you read it. the reason I don't give it a 5 is because it jumps around a lot and gets confusing.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've read! Review: Resident Evil is a wonderful book; it's scary, entertaining, and definitely a good read. When I saw it on this website, I immediately wanted to read it. So, I went to the local bookstore and purchased it. I finished it in a week and a half, and I loved it. My favorite characters were Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Barry Burton, and Rebecca Chambers. I hated Wesker! He was so mean! Well, let me tell you why this book is so great. I was scared reading it, getting scared every time S.D. Perry described a zombie. When Jill fought a Hunter, I was completely amazed and impressed by Mrs. Perry's writing. I think she is a great author and described this first video game great. And I am so glad that she wrote a whole series of them for everyone to read. If you're a fan of anything Resident Evil related (video game, comic book, etc.) except for the movie, then you will love this series of books. I know I did.
Rating: Summary: A DECENT ADAPTATION OF THE GAME Review: I WAS HOPING FOR VARIATION FROM THE GAME, BUT ONE NOT STRAYING TOO FAR FROM IT. AND I WAS SURPRISED AT HOW WELL MY EXPECTATIONS WERE REALIZED. PERRY DID A FAIRLY GOOD JOB OF MAKING THE GAME MAKE SENSE IN A REAL WORLD SETTING.
Rating: Summary: Evil Literature Review: Umbrella Conspiracy is based on the first game of the videogame series (they aren't based on the GameCube's Remake, they're based on the first version). It's about a group of cops who go to a forest, after several reports said there were a group of people and dogs attacking people who lived in there. Soon after, the victims were found eaten. Some of the cops disappear in the investigations, misteriously. Walking through the forest, they find an old mansion and they enter in it, thinking they would be safe... big mistake. The book is a great adaptation from the game, incluiding each character's point of view and things you haven't seen in the first game. If you like horror literature or if you like the Resident Evil series and you don't mind if the book has words like s**t, f**k and lots of violence, then this book is highly entertaining for you, because it'll be a scary experience.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT BOOK Review: This is an excellnet book by S.D.Perry. It was a good book to start off a series that has five other's to come after it and it's a book that keeps you on the edge and get's under your skin when you want to know what happen's next.It also has time for the character's to develop. overall i was thrilled that S.D. Perry did a good job in turning the game into a novel.
Rating: Summary: the book Review: s.d. perry did an excelent job writing this book. i enjoyed reading as much as i did playing the games. now i just wish they'd make the games that a couple of the books covered. the games would have to have more puzzle elements and more chances to get the ... scared out of you. all in all i think these novels were well writen and any fanatic of the series should check these out. if you were only interested in the games passivly, then you should look in to this only if your in to reading horror/suspense. this isn't stephen king, but a good read, even if your ADD isn't too bad.
Rating: Summary: A Page-Turner. Review: I have as of yet, never played the video game RESIDENT EVIL. However, I plan to do so. The reason I picked up and bought THE UMBRELLA CONSPIRACY was because after watching the RESIDENT EVIL movie my interest in the series was piqued. So, I picked up this book to get a better understanding about the series and video games. I found the book to be rather good; it didn't pretend to be anything more than it was and kept me interested. I read the book in about a days time and am looking forward to reading other books in the series and to playing the video games. There is some element of horror and gore, but the book reads more like an action adventure/mystery than a horror story. A great read for any Resident Evil fan.
Rating: Summary: An excellent book Review: This was a very well written book because she followed the original video game almost exactly. One of the few things in this book that is not in the game is that she said Jill was a former criminal. Besides that I thought that this book was great. I loved the way she portrayed all of the characters. It is thrilling and action packed. This is something you must read!
