Summary: Resident Evil: U.C. Based of the Org. best-selling game
Review: If you thought Resident Evil the game was a big sucsess, you need to read the best book i have read in a long time. This book is extremely detailed in every way with the game. It has all the main char. from the game including Chris, Rebecca, Barry, Jill, Joseph, Brad, and Capt. Albert Wesker in the same friendly enviroment, Racoon City. Pretty much this book is like playing the game without controllers and mind-melding your brain to a TV screen all day. I would read this book again and would porbabaly enjoy it just as much. I am currently Reading the 2nd novel; "Caliban Cove" by the same great author who wrote the first book. If you never heard of Resident Evil; then you got to rent the game or read the book. and if you enjoy the book and game, be sure not to miss the new RE movie coming around Halloween 2001.

Summary: Out of the four I read, this is has tied 2nd best
Review: I don't own the game, as I don't have a PS, but I've played it at
a friend's house, and it's a good game. This novel by Perry is even better, it doesn't exactly describe the characters, but. . .
who cares?! All of us who have played the game know that Wesker is evil, the S.T.A.R.S try to stop him. Then there's the mutant zombies, Tyrant, hunters, ect. and that something ALWAYS blows up
in the games.
But this is better, (note to parents: it's really gorey and cusses alot). S.D. Perry does a great job, telling the story from
every character's point of veiw, Chris, Jill, Barry, Brad, Wesker
and Rebbeca.
This and the other books in the series place you in the realm of horror, evil, sci-fi, action and violence as the S.T.A.R.S. try to stay alive in Spencer Estate.
I know you may notice it isn't all that well-written, but Perry really does a good job. Why? Because the GAME isn't too well-written.
The reason this "ties" for second place (with Code Veronica) is
because Book #5 is better.
Hope this reveiw helped, this is a good book in a good series, strongly recommended for hardcore fans and even just people who like a lot, and I mean A LOT of gore.
(WARNING: Once you buy this, get some diapers and some sleeping pills, you'll need 'em, unless you want to wake up in the middle of the night with your sheets somewhat wet.)
What the hell are you waiting for? ...

Summary: Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy
Review: Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy by S.D. Perry is one of the best books I have ever read in my life. The two hundred and sixty two page novel is the first book in the Resident Evil series and is action packed from beginning to end. Its' mysterious story line makes you want to keep reading while the horror makes you want to stop. The book is also a video game.

As the story begins you read about a recent string of murders in the small mountain community of Raccoon City. A number of people were found half eaten in the Raccoon Forest by "Cannibal Killers". Deployed to investigate the strange murders is the Special Tactics and Rescue Squad (S.T.A.R.S.), a military related response unit boasting an assortment of Mission Specialists: tough Chris Redfield, former cat burglar Jill Valentine, weight lifter Barry Burton, and the enigmatic team leader, Albert Wesker. This group comprises the Bravo team. Together with the other S.T.A.R.S. operatives (the Alpha team), they are ready for any kind of danger. Or are they?
Instead of the Alpha and Bravo teams both going to investigate the murders in Raccoon Forest the Alpha team will be going solo. This is unusual because they always work together. The plan is simple; the Alpha team will fly a helicopter over Raccoon Forest, look for the "Cannibal Killers" and then catch them. This plan is so simple that they think nothing can go wrong. But ten minutes after the Alpha team deports, an emergency happens. The Alpha leader radios in that there is a malfunction, then the radio dies, and the helicopter is no longer seen on the Radar. The remaining S.T.A.R.S. (the Bravo team) know that something in wrong and that each of the Alpha team members lives are in danger. Immediately the Bravo team jumps on a helicopter and flies into Raccoon Forest where they see Alpha teams helicopter crashed and smoking. The Bravo team lands and searches the crashed helicopter. Strangely, although there are no dead bodies, all their guns and gear are left behind. Also, lying on the ground near the helicopter is a severed hand with a gun in it. As the Bravo team examines it, a Zombie dog jumps out of the bushes and chases them. They run to their helicopter but the pilot has flown it away. Quickly thinking they start running to an abandoned mansion that they see in the distance. The Bravo team finally reaches the mansion. But are they safe? Are there more zombies? Will they find the Alpha team? The suspense continues throughout the book.

Writing a book based on a video game might be a challenge to some, but S.D. Perry manages it perfectly. The story line and the characters are exactly the same. People can even use the book as a guide for the game.

All in all, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy by S.D. Perry is a great book. The reading is very easy and there are only a few advanced vocabulary words. I strongly recommend it to kids who like action packed books or video games.

Summary: A great telling of the original video game
Review: The Umbrella Conspiracy is the first in a series of adaptations of the popular Capcom survival horror video game series written by S.D. Perry. Fans of the first game will be pleased to find that this book is a near perfect re-telling of the storyline in the first Resident Evil video game as we are introduced to Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Barry Burton, Albert Wesker, and the rest of the first game's characters as we see them thrust into the battle for their lives against a horde of zombies, mutated dgos, hunters, and plenty more grisly creatures while trying to escape the infamous secluded mansion. Perry's storytelling adds nearly the same degree of suspense that the game featured. and her character development of the characters actually makes the reader care about what happens to them; something the game didn't do. All in all, if you've never read any of Perry's Resident Evil books but are a fan of the game series, then I strongly suggest picking this, and the following books, up.

Summary: Prepare to Enter a World of Survival Horror
Review: As the story begins you read about a recent string of murders, in the small mountain community of Raccoon city. To investigate the murders the police force deployed the S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Squad) alpha team. After a few days of radio silence from the alpha team the second half of S.T.A.R.S., the bravo team, is sent in. After arriving at the last reported position of the alpha team, the bravo team is attacked by "inhuman" creatures. The surviving members seek shelter in a near by mansion, but after they get a chance to regroup the situation only gets worse from there.
This was a great book and very well written. The setting comes to the reader as being very real and vivid, and that characters are described in great detail. Although basing a book off of a video game might be a challenge to some, S.D. Perry managed it perfectly. She kept the feel of the book the same as it was in the game. She keeps you guessing, and makes you want to read more. Using mysterious tones she never gives away the whole story at once and saves the answers to the riddles for the very end. This was a great multi media novel, and a great book all by it self. This is a great book for fans of mystery and a must read for fans of the game.

Summary: Totally caught off Guard!
Review: This book shocked me. That's the only word I know that can describe this book. I've played the games, I've seen the movie, I've heard the stories, but this book was beyond belief. S.D. Perry knows her stuff.

I've played most of the first game, often thinking what it would be like to be in that situation. S.D. Perry told me what it would be like, in full detail. The smells, descriptions, it was almost too much, and yet almost too little.

It was perfect.

It takes a lot to give me nightmares, or get me scared, but this book almost made me afraid to go to bed the night I read it (and I finished it ONE NIGHT! I couldn't put this book DOWN!) My only regret is that I can't get the second book yet due to financial reasons. Otherwise I would buy every book in the series and read 'em all in a week.

This book is a must-buy for thrill seekers.

Summary: Excellent Time Killer - With Benefits
Review: If you liked the game, you'll like the novelization. It provides you with more depth and insight into the characters, as well as taking you along each of their storylines. The only thing I didn't like about it is the authors writing style - but hey, you can't win 'em all, can you? So, don't let that stop you from buying this item, cause it's worth all seven bucks! Maybe not the shipping and handling...but I'm a cheap skate, so don't hold that against it. Overall...excellent read!

Summary: Of course I haven't read this...
Review: It's based on a damn video game. Please don't waste your time with such trash.
