Summary: WAY COOL!
Review: Deathstalker is an incredibly cool book. It weaves together characters, plotlines, really cool locations and other such things together like very few other books I've read. Such creative things as the AIs of Shub and the Sleepers of Grendel leave room for future possibilities, many addressed in the sequels (aren't those things on the cover of Deathstalker Honor the infamous Sleepers?)

Summary: Green has created a great and immaginative world.
Review: Green has presented an amazingly detailed and creative universe for this series. The ideas, concepts, characters, and environments are amazing. A great story. He is masterful at creating moods. Especially horror and alienation. An all around fun and enjoyable read. He does get a little caught up in the cliche's, but I found this to be the only real detraction.

Summary: Good read, but suffers from superman syndrome
Review: Green has written an interesting series... however, his characters seem to suffer (for lack of a better word) from an invincibilty syndrome... they have strong mental powers, are master swordsmen, are perfect shots with disrupter guns, and can't seem to die, no matter how foolish they are...

However, it is an entertaining read, and serves to kill an afternoon or two.

Summary: Full of action, humor, and intrigue
Review: This is the first book I've read by Simon Green, and I've already purchased the sequel to this book and also another of Green's books. I like his writing style, the humor, the action, and more importantly his imagination. Mr. Green was able to dream up a world and convey it so clearly that I could see the action as I read it. I'll be sorry when I'm done with this series, because I've grown to like the Deathstalker and his companions.

Summary: unbeleiveably fast-paced and exciting
Review: Deathstalker was an exelent novel with a wide-spread backdrop that set the stage for unbeleivable action and pure science fiction. It is also the most difficult book to find, but when you do, you see it was worth the search. Simon R. Green, you are by far the best science fiction writer.

Summary: Seems to be a good read at first, but doesn't keep this prom
Review: To be fair, I have to say, that I have just read the german translation of the first two deathstalker novels, but the translation can't be THAT bad, so I have to assume, that the original version is not very much better. The novel is average at best ... I enjoy reading authors like David Brin, David Weber, Alan Dean Foster and many more, but the Deathstalker novels are not half as good as any novel of these authors. Don't waste time and money in reading them!

Summary: Read it!
Review: This book is the first of three. It is not as good as it could be, but should be read if only so that you can read the next two. They are the true life of this seriese. Together these books are the essence of sci fi/fantasy

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Decent story-line, bad writing!
Review: I've always liked large stories with lots of room for my imagination to roam. Green definitely provides that in his "Deathstalker" series. I just can't see why he feels the need to beat every cute cliche he knows to death. Are you reading this Mr. Green? Just write the story - it's a good one!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Green delivers both action and humor
Review: Simon R. Green displays rare talent in this the first novel of the Deathstalker series. Green tosses the reader into the fold on the first page and almost forces the reader to buy every other book that Green has written. If one wants to read a great book and laugh out loud doing it, this is the book for you!

Summary: A "WOW" FOR ALL OF YOU THAT ENJOY SPACE OPERAS
Review: This book was a roller coaster ride through the old gendre of space operas with a twist
Imagine King Arthur and his Knights slamed through a worm hole into the 30th century
Add to this the French Rebellion toss in the X-files and stir until smooth

The polictical intrigue, the positioning of the families, and the space blaster on one hip while the hot steel of a sword on the other will keep you entertained until the last page.
This book will have you running to buy the whole series
