Summary: A good old-fashioned, rip-roaring space opera!!
Review: When I first started reading this book, I almost put it down, because I thought it was so silly! But, I couldn't stop reading it, and you know, I really like it, because I don't take it seriously. I'm just having fun with it. The book is so over the top, and has so much energy, and the characters are so over-blown, that you know that you're just supposed to have fun reading it! And I do. I've purchased the other books in the series and can't wait to read them.

Summary: I LOVE IT!!
Review: I love the characters in this serie, the action is great. Don't mis "Twilight of the Empire". This three action-packed novellas are set in the amazing Deathstalker universe and a joy to read (Mistworld, Ghostworld & Hellworld).

Summary: Lackluster and silly
Review: I tried to like this book, because I liked Shadows Fall a lot. But how many times can you read the same exact exchange of "Can we fight <powerful well-armed group/ship>?" "Only if you want to annoy <it/them>"? Three, I guess, because that was what I was up to when I stopped. Or the exciting cinematic scenes like "evil traitor betrays noble group to, well, an underwhelming force, in an ambush. Other good-guy groups fall to said underwhelming force, but the protagonists win, because someone thinks to say 'Get them!' and is praised highly by the rest of the group for his leadership." Bleah.

Summary: This Book is the Best Book I ever Read on this subject!
Review: I have read many books of this kind (Of Empires and future technology and rebellions) and I simply think this book is the best one. The author seems to write what the reader would want to see. I would give it even 6 stars if I could!

Summary: the best space opera there is.
Review: Space opera doesn't get any better than this. With his grand, sweeping style, his memorable characters, his complex and involving storyline, his suspenseful and riveting action sequences, and his absolute mastery of the art of drama, Simon R. Green has truly shaped a masterpiece of modern fiction. Deathstalker is the first in a series of five, and a wonderful book in it's own right.

Summary: The Deathstalker is Dead
Review: This story would have made a great and interesting comic book, but in literary book form I found it very childish. I also found a severe problem with the pacing, epic descriptions of character backgrounds amidst scenes of action became very annoying. Don't waste your time....

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Entertaining Read!
Review: I was looking for something different and I picked up this book. I found it very entertaining and enjoyed it so much I bought the next books in the series. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is the main characters always seem to get themselves out of tricky spots too easily and quickly. Also everyones solution to everything in the series is to execute someone, especially in the 3rd book War.

Summary: Disappointment
Review: Readers of the Deathstalker series won't know it, but the author can actually write. While earlier fantasy novels were wholly satisfying, the deathstalker series has every cliche under the sun, as well as repetitious speeches, inconsistant characters, and a wandering plot. Buy "Blue Moon Rising" or "Shadows Fall" and avoid this series like a bad smell.

Summary: Deathstalker is Awesome!
Review: "Deathstalker" is an excellent book. From the beginning space battle to the preview of the second, it is the showcase of excellent writing and great imagination. The planets of Mistworld, Haden, Golgotha and others are wonderfully described, as are the various characters. Read this book!

Summary: This needs to be a movie!!!
Review: This was one of the coolest novels I've ever read, and I believe someone should bring this novel to the attention to director Paul Verhoeven. It's just the sort of blood-and-guts-laden sci-fi/fantasy/action story he's best at delivering. The novel is fast-paced and never lets up for a minute. It is quite wordy, however it only serves to deeper illustrate the characters and the universe they inhabit. Three cheers for Simon R. Green and his creations!
