Rating: Summary: Best Ever Review: I have read plenty of Star Wars books and the Hand of Thrawn series is the best I have ever read. The way he brought back Admiral Thrawn. The way he recreated his character in Flims perspective it was like you were meeting him all over again for the first time. In my voew this was Zahn's best book ever!
Rating: Summary: If you read one SW book... Review: Don't read this one. Like many of Zahn's other books on SW, this one is dissapointing and boring. To date, he is practically the only author who supports the Luke/Mara relationship, which has had little to build up to this point. As a result, the idea of the two of them together is a little hard to believe. The egotism of this man abounds, since he gives the reader stereotypical love interests. It wouldn't have killed you Zahny,to make up a love interest who was in the light side, would it? The idea of a dark turned light lover is too old. Frankly put, this book stunk, and the claim of a Luke/Mara relationship stank even more. Thank God for RPG. At least the damage can be repaired there.
Rating: Summary: Zahn's done it again. Review: After my eyes healed from this book gouging them out, I wrote this review. For the most part, this book is like all of Zahn's others-boring. I struggled through this one just as much as I struggled to get through the trilogy where Mara was introduced. Personally (though I like her character) the idea of her and Luke together makes me nauseous. There was nothing up to this point to suggest a relationship between the two of them, and I hope that the next writer repairs the damage. I would prefer Luke to be terminally single, unless they found him a woman exactly like Leia. (Don't try to tell me Mara's like Leia-she's not!) BTW-Mara is not another side of Luke, or however she put it. Blech.
Rating: Summary: Great!! well, some parts anyway... Review: Ok, this book was pretty good. Still, I have to agree with most people that the really interesting parts were the parts that featured Luke and Mara. Oh yea, and just for the record, I knew what was going to happen between the two of them since the end of DARK FORCE RISING. IT'S BLATANTLY OBVIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Callista is gone forever, because she was a shalow hot-head who had only one facet to her personality: Luke's Girlfriend. That was all there was to her. We can only hope that she never comes back. All in all a good read, and the ending is great, though a little rushed.
Rating: Summary: This book was awesome! Review: This is the best Star Wars book I have ever read! How can you people find anything wrong with it? The whole thing was awesome-including the Luke and Mara parts. Personally, I like Mara a lot better than Callista. Callista was a wimp! I think that Mara and Luke make a much better couple than Luke and Callista. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that Thrawn's clone didn't have time to do anything. It would have been cool if the clone would have gone back to the Empire and joined the fight against the Republic.
Rating: Summary: Well, surprise, surprise. Review: The book was more than okay. It was really good. I like it a lot, and it was much better than Specter of the Past. (First Hand of Thrawn book). But like mostly everyone else, I did not anticipate Luke and Mara. I mean, it's neat, and I don't have any problems with it, Gaeriel's dead and Callista is NOT COMING BACK! But I still didn't expect it. Luke was in love with Callista so deeply that it's hard to believe that he fell so deeply in love with Mara so soon afterwards, but that's okay. My one main problem is: What about the books written before it, but after it on the timeline? Also, in the Corellian trilogy, set a year before these two books, Luke shows no interest in Mara. Could what he wrote about really develop from a relationship such as theirs? It's not really believeable, but then again, neither is the Force, and we don't question the possibility of that. I think it's good, just don't try to read Young Jedi Knights or Junior Jedi Knights after you read this, because they won't make any sense. P.S. For the person who wanted to know, Gaeriel is in the Truce at Bakura and the Corellian trilogy: Ambush at Corellia, Assult at Selonia, & Showdown at Centerpoint. If anyone wants to know who Tendra is, she's in the Corellian trilogy too.
Rating: Summary: I cannot believe you people!!!!!! Review: You people sit here and make fun of Vision of the Future because Luke and Mara get married! FACE IT! Callista is NEVER coming back. She dumped Luke to find herself and now Luke found a new hope in his life. Mara Jade. And you people are are saying "oh, Mara and Luke not right for each other, Callista and him were a good couple" She is gone and Luke and Mara are getting married. You cannot change the story. We just have to read the next book and not whine and moan about it. I do have to say though that Mara didn't seem very excitied about the wedding. She hated the Jedi Acadamy nad she wanted Luke to abonden it. I hope Luke doesn't change on account of Mara Jade's moaning. But that is just how the authors wrote it and we have to go with the flow. P.S to the person who wanted to know what book Gariel is in she is in Truce at Bakura
Rating: Summary: Why? Review: Zahn has to be one of the best Star Wars authors around and this book certainly shows this. The one problem that this book had were the parts with Luke and Mara. They were slow and for the most part boring. The rest of the book was a shining example of what all Star Wars books should be, and I hope that this isn't the end of the Bantam Series.
Rating: Summary: It was pretty good but not the best there is Review: This book was okay because Luke and Mara get married. But I still think that Zahn is the best Star Wars author. I anticapated this for a while. The Vision of the future Mara had at the the end was awful. Who is Gaerial. What book is she in.
Rating: Summary: I HATE IT!!! Review: I really dont like the idea of Luke marrying Mara. Zahn has written many books and it's his will how he writs them. But I would like to tell him one thing, if I can, please, don't make the characters created by George Lucas look worst. They are good the way they are. I also hope that Lucas will not write some play which says Luke is going to marry someone.
