Summary: The best Star Wars novel bar none... except the audiobook...
Review: Zahn has done it again, and in a big way. Of all the Star Wars novel in the saga this one HAS to be my personal favorite. The irony and adventure is all too evident going through it, however I did have a problem or two with the auidobook abridgement....

I made the mistake of buying the abridged auidobook version of this story first, which was possibly the last audiobook abridgement I will buy ever now. Whoever composed the abridgement needs to be told off, and I intend to do it.

For starters I know that the tape is only 3 hours long, but that doesn't mean you leave out all the story's high points! The Mara/Luke relationship is probably the biggest dramatic irony in star wars history, and for the most part it was thrown out for the audiobook because of space restraints. This is a damned shame because chapter 17 of the novel is probably the best chapter I've ever read in a Star Wars book (and I've read them all!).

Also the Karrde/Shada Dukal relationship is barely touched on. In point of fact, the only things that are really described perfectly word for word are the peace talks near the end (but they aren't really at the end in the book) and the Car'Das stuff. Half the characters (including the Qom Jha!) are totally omitted, and that is just wrong.

I'm sorry if you are the one who composed it. It really is a LONG story and there is a lot there, but really! I'm sorry Bantam DoubleDay Audio, you just lost a customer!

Summary: Intrigueing
Review: For die hard "Star Wars" fans this book is perfect. It has great plot twist and alot of mystery. The book is literally an edge of the seat book. My only complaints were Thrawn's the plot around Thrawn's clone. I loved the story line around Luke and Mara. The end was astounding. "Visions of the Future" makes an absolute great read.

Summary: This is the BEST BOOK EVER by the best author ever!!!!
Review: WOW! Words can not describe this book! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! I couldn't put it down.I've read most of the Star Wars books and this one has to be the best! The desciptions made you feel like you were really there! I've read it three times and I'll definitely read it again. Timothy Zahn is the bomb! This book has the best ending too. Mara Jade is my favorite character in the Star Wars universe. There is a lot of her in this book. If you don't know who Mara Jade is, then you need to find out! If you liked the Thawn Triology (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising...etc.) then you'll love this! This book is WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY!!! If you read one book this year, let it be this one!

Summary: A superbly written book with an almost forgivable flaw.
Review: I must say that the entire Zahn saga has been captivating. But what does disappoint me somewhat is the fact that Zahn chose not to allow an actual return of Thrawn. To make matters worse, he leads us on. When he reveals the clone, my heart skipped a beat. Surely, I thought, it would survive and lead the galaxy against the mysterious threats in the Unknown Regions. That would have been a far better ending. I will mourn Thrawn's death. He almost transcended the entire Empire-Rebellion struggle with our new knowledge of his real purpose. But Zahn accomplished what he intended. The sheer suggestion of a new, powerful enemy gave readers a pit-of-the-stomach feeling few books could. Kudos to Zahn, but homage to Thrawn.

Summary: Timothy Zhan is the only one worth reading
Review: This is just the latest installment from the greatest of Star Wars authors today. I'll leave the plot alone because you can get that from the rest of the reviews. One word to discribe Zhan's portrail of the star wars universe: OUTSTANDING!

PS: Perhaps Lucas should consult Zhan when he writes his next two movies.

Summary: VERY VERY COOL!
Review: "Wow" was all I can say about Zhan's latest and greatest book! I have read and own about 90% of the Star Wars books and this one was my favorite. And I'm glad that Luke finally wound up with someone(hopefully for good this time), especially since that someone was Mara! I can't wait for the future books! This is going to be fun.

Summary: A great, thrilling sequal to Spectar of the Past.
Review: This book is an adventure of a lifetime where Luke Skywalker is looking for Mara Jade on an unknown world. In the meanwhile The imeitation of Grand Admiral Thrawn is causing a civil war in the New Republic. Has a very suprising ending.

Summary: This was the best book
Review: it really wrapped up a LOT of things in the Star Wars universe, while opening up plot lines for some new ones. I can't wait to read about Luke and Mara Skywalker, and more about Booster, Corran, Wedge, etc. I hope that Zahn continues to write, and continues these stories though I thought the Thrawn clone was a bit of a flat ending.

Summary: Zahn has regressed
Review: This series is really terrible. The Thrawn Trilogy was amazing but this definitely pales in comparison. Horrible. Nothing really captivating happens except for Luke and Mara's exploits. Everything else was just like Zahn was trying to take up space. I hated it!

Summary: Zahn is the BEST SW author!
Review: This book is the best one to date, I think. I can't really say anything about the whole Luke and Mara thing that wouldn't be repetition. Whoever still favors Callista (and these are probably beings who enjoy the Young Jedi Knight books, so what can I say), let it go. Think about it. Luke would have deteriorated into a spineless jellyfish, and she would have gone stark raving mad without the Force while surrounded by Jedi. Mara's way cooler, anyhow.

The only problem I had with Visions was the fact that Thrawn and Palpatine had supposedly planned Thrawn's exile from the start. That makes sense, sort of, but when the Emperor figured out that the Rebel Alliance was NOT a couple of backwater Outer Rim systems, and actually posed a threat to the Empire, he should have brought Thrawn back right away. It's not like the Empire had any surplus tactical genius. WHO CARES about your image? I guess that's why he's dead. :.)
