Summary: An Excellent Book!!!
Review: Britain's debut work is great! I am an avid reader, but had only just plunged into to the genre of fantasy books when I read GREEN RIDER. I was intimidated at first by the length, but the artful way the tail was woven hardly let me put it down. Britain tells the story of a girl, Karigan, who experiences an adventure like no other one in her life. She travels through forests brimming with magic, faces evil opponents, and meets new friends. Karigan learns to rely on herself in ways she never knew she could. The situations were so vivid that at times I felt what the characters felt and saw the things they did. Kristen Britain pays incredible attention to detail and anyone would enjoy such a masterfully written book. It's a book about self dicovery, adventure, and friendship. I can't wait for Britain's next book. If it's even half of what her first was, it's bound to be wonderful.

Summary: Excellent and well crafted fantasy novel!!
Review: Green Rider is an excellent novel, with fresh creations and not just a rehash of Tolkein or other authors' works. I literally read it in a single sitting. The most impressive thing about this book is not just the wonderful world creation by the author, Kristin Britain, but her successful intertwining of all the elements of the book. She gives characterizations that sparkle, with the players rounded out, their interrelations shown to the reader clearly but without you feeling led. She has wondrous new magics to unveil for us, and a fully-fledged political scene. The 'good vs. evil' theme is not new, of course, but it is approached from the perspective of someone with fresh eyes. As I said, the author doesn't just rehash old themes and ideas, but creates a new things to dazzle us. My only complaint is that I would have liked to see the Grey One fleshed out a bit better. He is the only really opaque character, and I prefer to have the nemesis have a little more motivation. I mean, just how did he get to be so bad in the first place? That was a minor thing, however. Overall, this is one of the best books I have ever read. I cannot wait to read the sequal, "Mirror of the Moon," when it appears!

Summary: New author off to a great start
Review: I first read this book when I was in the 7th grade. It got me to start reading fantasy books. The main character Karigan, is a determined young girl with a passion for justice. that only wants to get home. She gets expelled from her school for winning a swordfight with a lord. She gets caught up with Green Riders, personal messengers of the king. This starts an adventure that captures you right from the start. Read this and join me in thinking that this the best book ever written by an author in the fantasy genre.

Summary: I was enthralled!
Review: I just finished this book a minute ago. I could not put it down all weekend. My husband is a big fan of "fantasy-trash" and I occasionally pick thru his books for a read. I am so often disappointed. The only authors I have read all of are Tolkien and M. Z. Bradley. It seems that many of this genre are poorly written for a feebler reader, but Kristen writes like a pro. I did not even note until the end that almost all of her main "heroes" were women in very strong and unique roles. She compiled a rich and unpredictable plot and I am very disappointed that she does not have more books already realeased that I can read. If anyone knows of more (perhaps this is a pen-name for her) please email me at tiffsterr@hotmail.com.

Summary: Great Fantasy Read
Review: This first offering by Kristen Britain was suprisingly good! I enjoyed the ease of the author's writing style and ended up reading it within 3 days of purchase. The main character, Karigan, has a certain innocence about her that is endearing. Meanwhile, the reader just knows that Karigan is going to be in the middle of some fray or another, and that she will eventually triumph, regardless of her lack of confidence in her own skills. The author ends the story with just enough closure to complete this first book, however, many questions remain. I look forward to the second installation of this series. I was as thrilled with this book as I have been with Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and Tad Williams' Green Angel Tower.

Summary: Keep em coming Kristen!
Review: My husband wanted me to try reading a science fiction/fantasy book, so I went to the book store and was drawn to the cover, so I bought it. I was so shocked...I loved it. Couldn't put it down and then had my Mom read it too. It was a wonderful book full of action, surprises and fun. I cannot wait for the sequel.

Summary: I love it. It's a well written, fast-paced adventure story.
Review: I throughly enjoyed Kristin Britain's debue novel, Green Rider. It is a wonderful tale of the adventure of one young woman. Britain is a good, strong writer. She gives the novel closer, while leaving room for a sequel. (You AREN'T left nashing your teeth because there are so many loose ends you could bury the world with them -- not to mention the author.) The supporting characters are a colorful bunch that help Karigan grow as a Rider and as woman.

The novel focuses on Karigan, the main character, and what happens to her as she delivers the message of a legendary Green Rider who dies in her arms. A novice in the world of political intrigue, she is thrown full force into the scheming surrounding the message she must deliver to a king in grave need of its contents. In some ways it is also a tale of coming of age. Karigan's life is filled with many new people and firsts. It has several romantic subplots that simply entice the reader instead of take over the entire plot.

It is not a short read, but in some ways it is a light one, although I myself had difficulties putting it down. I definately recommend it.

Summary: green rider
Review: At last a fantasy for horse lovers. I was thrilled with every page. Every young girl who has ever loved a horse will love this book. After all, the horse is the smartest character in the book. He reminds me of every wiley pony I ever rode. My nieces loved this book as much as I did. I search every month hoping the sequel is out. Congrats Kirsten !

Summary: A charming first novel
Review: Some times a book simply strikes me fancy and I'm carried along completely entranced. When I first picked up the book I put it back down again thinking it was little more than candy coated, amateurish fluff. It might still be that but the second time I picked it up I found myself being quite happy that my flight was going to be delayed two hours so I was sure I could finish the book. Did Ms. Britain really do justice to the concept of the green riders? No. Did she indulge in some elements of trite plot elements, earning her the judgment of some reviewers that this book was targeted at the young adult market? Yes. Did I really care? Nope. While I would never claim that Ms. Britain even reaches Andre Norton's knees as a writer, I liked her straight forward storytelling and maybe a little bit of the innocence her story possessed. I have strong hopes that Ms. Britain might become a strong voice in fantasy in the future and I eagerly await her next novel.
