This, the second in the series, is torture. There is almost no action. There are vast scenes dedicated to characters going to meetings. Meeting after meeting take up hundreds of pages. People talk and talk and talk and nothing happens but talk. This is the "My Dinner With Andre" of fantasy novels. By the time the book was coming to a close I started to fantasize that one of the characters would just start shouting "shut up already and lets actually DO SOMETHING!"
