Summary: The perfect finish to the series
Review: Let's face it, if you liked the Belgariad and the Mallorean, you'll eat up both Belgarath the Sorcerer and Polgara the Sorceress. Even though you already know what's going to happen if you've read the earlier series, the Eddings make it interesting enough to keep you enthralled to the end. And as always, it's not the plot, it's the characters, and no one does them like David and Leigh. Definitely recommended for fans of the Eddings; if you're not a fan, get the Belgariad series NOW and save Polgara the Sorceress for later.

Review: I really liked this book too! I do believe that The authors were very generous with thier graphic descriptions of internal organs, esp. In Belgarath the Sorcerer. Still, it was a very exciting book. I wonder if we'll ever hear POLEDRA'S view??? that might be interesting. READ IT!! Sphynxie

Summary: An absolutely great book! One of the best in either series!
Review: "Polgara the Sorceress" is, in my opinion, one of, if not THE best book in either of the two series involving Belgarion and his friends. I think we all have a sort of soft spot for Pol, and this book brings into light the motives behind her sometimes prickly, but always entertaining nature. This book is the perfect companion for "Belgarath the Sorcerer", and fills in many of the gaps we all wondered about. What was Pol like in her childhood? Exactly what happened when she went to Yar Nadrak? All the many questions that nagged you, and made you say... Wait a minute! I want to know more! All of them are answered here, in this most wondrous book by David and Leigh Eddings. Also, check out the behind-the-scenes action of the making of the two series and their companion novels, "Belgarath the Sorcerer" and "Polgara the Sorceress," in "The Rivan Codex--Ancient Texts of the Belgariad and Mallorean."

Summary: This book deserves no stars at all.
Review: This really was an effort to finish. It's dull, badly written and full of ponderous "humour". Clearly a book designed to make more money with a minimum of effort. Don't bother!

Summary: Terrific read and well worth the price of admission
Review: I found this book to be a real treat. I particularly liked the description of how Polgara grew into the acerbic wit we all know and love. Imagine tying yourself to the continuation of one family throughout the ages and waiting for the culmination of dreams to be realized. To challenge a god and be triumphant makes for spectacular reading. Human kinds petty foibles and idiosyncracies tend to fall by the wayside as you contemplate a lifespan of 3,000 plus years. Would also like to see Mr. Eddings write about the companions and their lives.

Summary: Hurry to the nearest bookstore and buy this book!!
Review: Polgara the Sorceress was and is my favorite book. A wonderful sequel to Belgarath the Sorcerer. I would happily read this book 100 more times. The characters have such strong feelings and Polgara has lived through so much pain in her life and has still gone on. Read this book as soon as possible, but first read Belgarath the Sorcerer.

Summary: The classic Eddings we've seen before
Review: A wonderful history of the world of the Belgariad & Mallorean, finally told through the eyes of Polgara. It clarifies some mysteries from Belgarath the Sorcerer and other related novels by explaining exactly what was going on with Poledra, but a good deal of it repeated the history presented earlier by Belgarath. It's the Eddings we've come to love, with his vivid character portrayals and sarcasm, but his running on the same plotline for twelve novels is getting tiresome. I would recommend this for fans of his work, though not for those who don't have a fairly strong attachment to his characters.

Summary: Humorous and Enchanting, One of my All-Time Favorites
Review: This book is as good an ending to the sparkliing fantasy series by David Eddings as any, and I don't have many complaints. The first person perspective of this and Belgarath's book added whole new dimensions to David Eddings' already brilliant writing style. The contrast between father and daughter's points of view are spectacular, and help define the chracters of Polgara and Belgarath tremendously.

Although Polgara the Sorceress very neatly put the cap on the Belgariad and Malloreon series and companions, I would like to beg, wheedle, grovel and mayde even (though I doubt it) try to command David Eddings to write some more books out of this series. I loved Beldin and Vella, Silk and Velvet, Relg and Taiba, Zakath and Cyradis, and Poledra and wish that their stories would be printed as well, Silk and Beldin's especially.

I would recommend this book to anyone who comes across it, and hope that David Eddings will continue to fascinate us with his finely detailed chracters and multi-layered, involved plots.

Summary: It was great. A perfect final note to an outstanding series.
Review: I loved the series and if there ever was a better way to put it to rest this is it. I also loved the contrast between the two autobiographies (Polgara the Sorceress and Belgarath the Sorcerer). It is almost like hearing two sides of te same series.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Polgara is a wonderful story that fills in 1/2 of the gaps
Review: This was an excellent neat, finish to all the others. I really enjoy reading Edding's books. They make me feel like I'm there. Polgara is no exception and it is great to view from another perspective. I would really like to here Poledra's story though.
