Rating: Summary: By The Sword Review: I LOVED this book. Especially that it went through a lot of her (princess - or if it was up to her - just plain Kerowyn's)life. If you like Mercedes Lackey you HAVE to get it.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book!!!!!!! Review: I've read almost all Mercedes Lackey's books and I think this is one of the best! I picked it up one afternoon and couldn't put it down until the next morning... it's that good!
Rating: Summary: It was entertaining throughout the whole book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I was confused when I started it, because of the changing of characters. (Since the first two books have different characters). It was very sad when she had to leave Eldan. I wish there was more about her. I laughed, I cried, I couldn't put it down!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: One Great Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I got this book a bit back but ever since then I have been rereading it. It is simply one of Misty's great books. Kero (or Kerowyn) is a strong female who can take care of herself. Thank you for that. She always stands up for what she believes in and doesn't let mn push her around or take advantage of her just because she is a woman. And even though she isn't exactly feminine, she still wants love. Or at least with Eldan. This book was a great one. I would recomend that you read it when you get a chance.
Rating: Summary: I ABSOLUTLEY LOVED THIS ENCHANTING BOOK! Review: The plot and the characters were excellantly portrayed!I cried when Kero had(I hardly ever cry about things I know are fictional)to make an abrupt departure from Eldan. I bought this book a while ago but reread it often and I advise you do the same thing too!
Rating: Summary: Great Review: The only thing I didn't like about this book was that I couldn't put it down--- therefore I lost several hours of sleep and then was toatally exusted afterwards. I love fantasy books, but the only kinds I like are the ones with a heroine, not some narrow bird brain knight who thinks he's the best because he saved some damsel in distress.
Rating: Summary: Kero is a wonderful person. Review: I just wanted to say that if you are a Valdemar fan, and you don't read this book, you'll never understand the Mage Winds Trilogy as well as you should. If you are new to the series, start with Arrows of the Queen, but definitely read By the Sword. I loved how the Companions kept staring at Kero. :) Read this!
Rating: Summary: Most entertaining and inspiring book I've ever read! Review: Kerowyn is an unbelieveable woman, she inspired me to be all I can be, and that I am "destined for greatness" (Warrl) I wish I could live her life within my own. She is courageous, honest, loyal, trustworthy, etc. She is amazing!
Rating: Summary: Kerowyn is my favorite Lackey character. Review: "By the Sword" is my favorite Lackey book because of its exceptional heroine. I truly liked and admired Kero. Heck, I wanted to BE Kerowyn. She is strong and brave and determined. Both men and women will find her character appealing. "By the Sword" is one of those books that one hates to finish. Read it and you will want to read it again.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely fantastic! Review: Hi peeps. I'm only eleven years old, but I have read this book and most of Mercedes Lackey's others. She and Tamora Pierce are my absolute favorite authors. The only other book that I have read that I have actually liked which isn't by either of them is "The Witch of Blackbird Pond." I started reading Tamora Pierce's books at age nine and a half and started reading Mercedes Lackey's books about three months after I started Ms. Pierce's books. "The Oathbound" by Mercedes Lackey was the first book I read by her. I then went to "Oathbreakers," then "The Sword of Ice." After awhile I found the newest book, I think, "Oathblood." I read that next and then went straight to "By The Sword" before reading "Arrow's of the Queen," "Arrow's Flight," and "Arrow's Fall." Well, anyways, I've read all of her books from "The Oathbound" on. To anyone out there who has mixed feeelings about reading any of her books, to make up your mind for you, I suggest READ HER BOOKS. I would have to ssay that this book is my favorite out of them all, even though I do like "The Mage Winds" trilogy. This book is amazing. It's got all the features of a "perfect fantasy book." Adventure, Romance and all the other stuff. I may only be eleven but I can tell all of the adults who have read and liked this book: This book and others like it have made it possible for me to learn words and how to spell them that some high-schoolers don't even know. And I live near the twelth largest high-school in the counrty! These books have helped me to actually have a "best subject" in school. Math and science are my worst subjects, truthfully. Besides the fact that these books "help" me in school, they inspire me to write. They give me an urge to go out into the world and make movies about them so that millions of people know how I feel. And not just only me, others in the world too. Although I know that the movie thing may never come true, I still have my writing. In fact, I'm writing a story right now. It's not that long but it isn't even close to being finished. With that fact that I'm writing a story right now, it helps me learn how to use my writing program and how to type on my computer. I love them all and all of Tamora Pierce's books. To anyone who has never heard of Tamora Pierce, I suggest that you end up hearing about her and try reading her books. They may be short, but they're good.
