Rating: Summary: Probably Mercedes Lackey's best novel ever. Review: If _Magic's Pawn_ isn't Misty's best novel, then this one is. It's probably the greatest fantasy tragedy ever written. This story is not for the imature nor the faint of heart. The religious system is fabulous: carefully reasearched and expertly executed. Misty's attention to detail and her willingness to take on tough, adult issues make this one of the most unforgettable books you'll ever read.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, but over too soon. Review: everything that Mercedes writes in tops, but this was one of the best....I am just getting ready to delve into Storm Warning, but don't want the whole Valdemar experience to be over....but, I can't NOT read them either.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't stop crying!!! Review: I have read a lot of books in my time and this has to be the best. I could not put it down. I think I cried through the entire second half, both times I read it! Mercedes out did herself this time.
Rating: Summary: Made me cry as much as Titanic Review: A truly wonderful book, in a truly wonderful series. I almost never cry when reading books, but this, Magic's Pawn, and Arrows' Fall made me cry. You know what happens to vanyel at the end since the first Talia book, but I still couldn't stop crying! I think I cried so much because I really came to care for Vanyel, Savil Tylendel, and all the other characters in this trilogy. Poor consistently depressed Vanyel seems like he has to be real. Oh yeah: this series also teaches tolerance of all sexual preferences. I've always tolerated homosexuals, but Vanyel finally made me really start to sympathize with them. A must-read for anyone who loves tear-jerkers, Valdemar, or good books.
Rating: Summary: My favorite book in the entire world!!!!! Review: I just loved this book. More than loved, I revel in this book. It is so beautiful, in words and in characters. I just cried a few times with the first two books, but on this one I bawled. I sobbed for at least an hour. The love between Stef and Van was so pure it made my heart ache for something that wonderful. If you haven't read this trilogy, you must! Mercedes Lackey has now stolen my heart with this book. I will forever remain a follower of Vanyel and Stef til the day I die. (sorry I'm rambling, but this book has that affect on you.) I give this book the Gwyen Seal of Approval.
Rating: Summary: Of all the books that I've ever read, this book was the best Review: Never have I come across a book which made me feel what the characters were feeling, and in such a strong way. Vanyel is the very definition of a hero, yet he still shows that he is human and has the same wills and desires as the rest of us. I wanted to laugh with Vanyel and cry for him. Mercedes Lackey has the ability to erase the boundary between fact and fiction, what is real and what is imaginary. Magic's Price is a tragic yet unforgettable tale.
Rating: Summary: The entire trilogy kicks! Review: I cried on the first one. I wailed on this one. This is really going to blow my image. This, the culmination of the fantastic Last Herald-Mage Trilogy, is its grand finale. He finally finds the happiness he deserves. He fulfills every potential, and pays the price for his magic. He protects Valdemar past his death in an incredible act of self-sacrifice, giving up the eternal rest he deserves so much. He has become so much more than a mere man; he is a true epic hero.
Rating: Summary: Heros never die... Review: Every one knows that and it is true. Vanyel suffers the most in this book but he also gains the most. He proved his power, determination, and will. He sacraficed the most and gained the most. He and Yfandes saved Vandemar single handidly and became the greatest heroes of all time. He did most of it out of revenge and the rest out a sense of duty. To his king, family, friends, people he never met, Vandemar, fellow Heralds, and himself. We finally learn what the Last Herald Mage Triology holds in store for its well loved hero and his friends and family. Vanyel finally gets all the happiness and joy he deserves. This was the best book out of the three. And yes heros never die. And Vanyel definately is a hero
Rating: Summary: Even the third time I read it, I didn't want to stop. Review: Mercedes Lackey is my favorite author, and Magic's Price is my favorite of her books. Vanyel, who has been lonely since his love died, finally finds happiness. However, life is too complicated for it to be that simple. Living dangerously as the most powerful mage in the kingdom, and protecting his kingdom as five people, there is no way that everything can stay as perfect as it seems. Mercedes Lackey makes the reader live with the characters, experience their joys and sorrows, laugh and cry with them
Rating: Summary: Heartbreaking.... Review: This book was enthralling from the beginning, and only got better as it progressed. It reached a peak at the end and brought a dramatic end to an already magnificent trilogy
