Rating: Summary: Execellent...but Review: This book does not disapoint as the sequel to Luck in the Shadows. The story line continues as Seregil, Alec and other characters battle to stop the evil forces that threaten to overtake the land. To my dismay however, the uncomfortable love relationship between Alec and Seregil continue to grow. It seems to put a twist on everything they say to each other. For open-minded readers.... that's just fine. But for close-minded readers (such as I) , it makes me hesitate to pick up Lynn's next book. But since I am dying to find out what next adventure our two heroes will encounter out of Skala, I must ignore the fact that despite all of Alec's heroism- he is the same age as me, and still a minor! So whenever you decide to speed up on your writing, Mrs.Flewelling.. we're waiting...!
Rating: Summary: Greeaat!!(beyond the death of ----- and ------ self-exile) Review: I picked up luck in the shadows out of curiosity when my brother bought it and read it in one sitting, which is not unusual, but I simply could not put it down. It is full of funny little jokes, and it does not have exceedingly formal grammar. My only complaint is the depth of Alec and Seregil's (ahem) relation. Why didn't Nysander just train Seregil or magick him not to have such love relations? Despite this, I'm waaaiiiting, Mrs. Flewelling. Why can't you write extra hours so the third book comes out soon?
Rating: Summary: Things are heating up... Review: "Stalking Darkness" lives up to the promise of the first book. Actually it surpasses it. At this rate, the third installment in the Nightrunners series will be truly amazing!
Rating: Summary: I laughed, I cried, I checked the shadows for scary things. Review: So worth reading! A fun romp into a land that easily replaces reality. Similar to the first book of the series, I could not put it down. I played hooky from work just so I could finish it. That's one of the best recommendations I could give!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful blend of new and old Review: This is one of the rare 'sense of wonder' books I've read last year. Though the ingredients appear to be standard fantasy, the way they are mixed is new and refreshing. I enjoyed the matter-of-fact way romance was handled in the book - gushy love scenes are the death of too many fantasy boks. And the heroes of the book are just too cute for words!
Rating: Summary: Excellent read!!! Review: Extremely well written with such depths to the characters and plot that you can visualize it as you read! I came across the first book just as the second was being released...what luck!!! It's certainly hard waiting for the next to come out but if it is written as well as the first two it will be worth it! It's not often you can find a book from an author (let alone two) that you find yourself reading over and over so that the characters become like old friends (you know, when those desperate trips to the bookstore reveal nothing new!).
Rating: Summary: Must Read More!!!!! Review: This book is great! I will keep reading these books. Please hurry with the next books! Great plot, great characters, great everything. Read this books if you haven't already! List of some great authors: Lynn Flewelling, Mercedes Lackey, J.R.R Tolkien, etc. Notice who is first on the list!
Rating: Summary: This book hauls a$$ Review: Stalking Darkness (the nightrunner series) is the best book ever, Lynn Flewelling is one of the best authors I have ever read, surpaceing Stephen King and all other pop authors.
Rating: Summary: Surprising, wonderful, endearing, refreshingly open-minded Review: It's been 15 years since I sat down and read a book in one whole sitting. I bought dozens of books in the past and never got past the first chapter. This book was truly an exception! I even read it twice which is a rarity for me! Great plot, memorable characters that you become attached to at once. Her open minded appeal on sexuality is subtle that it does not come on too strong, yet bold that you cannot miss it and is remarkably refreshed by it. Excellent book!!! My only disappointment is that the third book is taking a long time to be released. Can't wait!!!!
Rating: Summary: No sequel disappointment here!!! Review: And thank god for that. Stalking Darkness picks up and revs up quickly. I was pulled back to the story and the world in a matter of pages. Seregil is as roguish as ever. Alex as endearing. New characters, the death of ------!!! Tears were flowing! Oh, Lynn, when is Traitor Moon due? I miss these boys!!
