Summary: What a great book this is!
Review: True science-fiction, military science-fiction, a Gunny, Wood Elves, orcs, and a demented rabbit - what more could a Ringo fan (or anyone else!) ask for?

This is really a very well-written foray into a new universe, with attention to detail and a rollicking sense of humor. I highly recommend it to one and all.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Can't Put It Down!!!
Review: Warning: Don't start this book if you have anything else you should be doing, from page 1 you'll be sucked in and maybe...just maybe, you'll get a chance to take a breath after page 538.
An awesome blend of sci-fi and fantasy (and yes, the scantily clad Elf Babe on the cover is in the book and dresses just like that!) with some politics and military history addded to the mix makes for a page turning read.
For stories of true classic heroism in the face of adversity...look no farther than John Ringo.

Summary: Where Are The Dragons?
Review: We have everything else in this book, but no dragons. A first-rate, fast paced story with characters you care about, a fantasy world totally based on science, humor, action villains(except for one) who have understandable motives, and told in a way that you can't put it down. What's not to like?

There may be dragons in the following books, but they don't show up here. This is a minor nit, but I heartily recommend the book to those who like science fiction, fantasy, military science fiction, and history.

Summary: When Science becomes magic
Review: When Science becomes magic, in the far off future, and everyone lives as more than human, what happens when war plunges them back into the dark ages? Only those who remember history can ensure humanity's survival now.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Sci-Fi from a Great Writer
Review: With this book, John Ringo has graduated to becoming one of my top 10 favorite writers. The characters in this book are real and realistic, which is not something that automatically happens. He has taken a disaster scenario and played it out with likeable as well as hateable characters and some scary types on the sidelines. If you like SCA or other re-enacting groups, if you like fantasy or hard Science Fiction, this book gives you a satisfying experience right to the end. The only problem is that the next book isn't ready yet!
