Summary: "Hindsight criticism is always based on fantasy foresight"
Review: For those who felt the two most recent books were short on the snap-hiss of lightsabers and personal combat/conflict, you will find all you want in this latest installment.

Shedao Shai leads the Yuuzhan Vong against the New Republic and a somewhat surprising ally, and brings with him all the Vong are known for. This book continues to take place in the very dark abyss R. A. Salvatore dropped this Star Wars experience into with Vector Prime. The sadomasochism of the Vong is more intense this time around, and I am tiring of it. Evil always was portrayed in Star Wars with much left to the imagination; the terror suggested was always magnified by the imagination of the reader. When an interrogation droid hovered into Princess Leia's cell in Episode 4 we were not present for whatever took place. In Episode 5 we only see the very beginning of Han Solo's treatment at the hand of Vader, a scream, and then a scene change.

Now we have the Vong's "Embrace Of Pain" that is pure horror story not science fiction. The level to which it is used stretches credibility. There is nothing clever about it, it's just graphic. I lost track of the number of beheadings and the ways they were described. The other offensive and defensive organic weapons of the Vong continue to fascinate, but there novelty is wearing thin. A new fighter on the side of the Republic is more interesting this time around. And the best part is you will never guess who leads the squadron.

Michael Stackpole continues as one of the best writers in the Star Wars Universe. The story he shares here is very well told, and strikes a balance between the times spent on Jedi Reflection, the Senate Politics, and the action that always has been the heart of Star Wars.

There are more bits of comment that suggest other changes are coming. I am beginning to wonder if when this latest cycle of books has ended will it coincide with the final movie?

George Lucas has said there will be no 3rd trilogy from him and he will not allow someone else to continue the story. These books may be the final trilogy, and they may bring everything full circle. Just a thought.

I do have one personal hope that someone will take a lightsaber to Borsk Fey'lya. I realize I may be slipping to the darker side, but if there in an appropriate place for this sentiment, it is within this series.

A very good read that all fans should enjoy.

Summary: Best NJO book yet !
Review: This book just plain rocks! You must buy this book , its got everything and more.Only bad part is its Mr. Stackpoles last SW for awhile.

Summary: The New Jedi Order just keeps getting better and better!
Review: This, the third in what will eventually be twenty-five or thirty (unsure of the exact number) novels, is the best so far.

I won't give away any "spoilers," so here's the best I can do.

The New Republic continues to suffer the onslaught of the seemingly invincible Yuuzhan Vong. They get some very unexpected allies, including a certain pilot.

The "Death Wave" continues unabated, and one supporting character dies.

That said, Star Wars fans should enjoy the return of some of their favorite characters. And non-SW fans will find this very easy to get into.

Read this book!

Summary: star wars fan speaks good things
Review: Having read this Book (and many other starwars titles) I can say I loved It. After the death of chewbacca in the first new jedi order book there is a genuine sense of suspense that you don't get in other star wars books because you would not think they'd kill off a main character in a book. but since chewy died its open for many things to happen Michale A. Stackpole Is one of my favorite starwars authors because he cane write good dog fights and other dificult scenes he combines grond and space action very well and is very ingenuitivein his thinking My favorite part of the book is chapters 10 and 11 when corran horn infiltrates the yuzzan vhong planet it is suspencefull and exciting but I dont want to ruin it for you I will say its worth the time and money to read this book (But since im a speed reader it only took me a couple hours)

Summary: Great Part 2 for the Dark Tide Series.
Review: I love Michael Stackpole and this is definetly one of his best series. I don't want to give anything away, because people ruined Vector Prime for me!.....thanks.NOT! I loved the ending and Corran Horn. The thing I LOVED about the series is the development of the Solo kids. Happy reading =-)

Summary: Great
Review: Although the Dark Tide books are early on in the New Jedi Order series there some of the best ones. They are written by one of star wars best authors, Michael A. Stackpole (X-Wing Series & I Jedi). All of the characters personalitys are perfect. Its like your watching one of the movies. You also meet a major new player in the New Jedi Order in this book, Jag Fel. He comes from Chiss space and pilots a Chiss Clawcraft. Although his role is minumal in this book, it becomes larger by Dark Journey. So go out and get this book, its a great addition to the star wars universe.

Summary: Should have had Seige
Review: I thought Ruin was a good book. It was slow to start off and had huge holes. Maybe if they would have allowed Seige to come out that would not have been a problem. I did not like what they did to Corran Horn in this book. I hope he is redeemed.
