Summary: I cried...
Review: What the heck do they think their doing? Killing off the main characters like that? I was waiting for this book to come out for so long, and now I almost wish I hadn't read it. The fact that Mara and Luke had their first child is compleatly ignored, Han and Leia have very small parts, Jacen has crawled back into his shell again, but Jaina's character is interesting... it will be interesting to see what happens to her. Zekk has come back, but not the way i hoped he would. He and Jaina have lost touch and grown apart, even after all they have been through. Tahiri and Anakin's relationship was talked abnout very little in the story, Tenel Ka is back but her and jacen don't seem to be as close as they once were. The part I did liked about this book was the fact that the YJK's got back together, even for a short time. Teh one place this book could have inproved was more detail about the main characters, ie Han, Leia, Luke and Mara. They seemed to be almost ignored.
But this is souly my opinion I sugest you read this book and come up with your opinion.

Summary: Clearly the Best NJO book since Vector Prime
Review: A great book with super pacing and wonderful storytelling. It's all here new creatures for Jedi to fight. More deaths of characters we've learned to love and most importantly, a turning point in the war. At the end of this we're left with hope that this conflict can actually be won. It's like the rebels at the end of Empire Strikes Back. Yes, we're down, and yes, we've lost a friend or two along the way, but that doesn't mean we're not gonna win. It's fabulous. It's certainly better than some of the NJO books to come down the pike recently.

Summary: Hope for a victory
Review: I really enjoyed this book although I was shocked and saddened by the death of Anakin Solo. He died saving his siblings and fellow Jedi much like Anakin Skywalker did in saving his son, Luke at the end of Return of the Jedi. I felt that it was extremely well written and the darkness described in it kind of gives me a taste of what to expect in the remaining two Star Wars Prequels. One thing I hope is that more of these stories will become uplifting again. The series has become a little too dark for my taste. The Vong remind me of modern day terrorists who kill to justify religious beliefs and they like today's terrorists, should be defeated. I would love to see more triumphs of the Jedi. I enjoyed it, but it is starting to become too depressing. I hope the Jedi win at the end because they deserve to.

Summary: I just couldn't believe it!!!
Review: I have loved Star Wars for a very long time and have thought that the New Jedi Order series would expend on Expanded Universe with new advantures. However, with the interduction of the Vong into the Expanded Universe has called for new auction, the death of young characters such as Liea and Han's eighteen year old, Anakin is just to heart braking.

Star By Star at the end does leave some hope but for who I don't know. The New Republic fell at Corscant.

I will contiune to read the new NJO books as they come out but I have lost any real feeling for the remaining characters!

All in all if you are a Star Wars fan and want to know what happens read the book. Just try not to let it get to you!!!

Summary: Dark is not always bad
Review: Why was Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back the best of the first trilogy? Because it was not your typical good guys face a problem, good guys solve problem, good guys win movie. This latest installment of the New Jedi Order series harkens back to Empire. A reader can't go through this series thinking the good guys will always win - because in this book, they lose. Yes, a major character dies (I would actually say two major characters die). And yes, the book has a dark tone. But readers can't flip through the pages wondering how the good guys will get out of this one. The reader genuinely wonders IF the good guys will get out of this one. That's what makes this book thrilling from page 1 to page 606. I can't wait for the next one.

Summary: best one yet
Review: this book was amazing! I just couldn't believe what was going on
it kept me on the edge of my seat, and i just cant wait for the next book. So, if you enjoy Starwars in general, you will love this, but you should probably know whats going on in the NEW JEDI ORDER before you embark on this Delicious reading experience.

Summary: Good book but Sad, Spoilers
Review: After reading this book I felt a sense of loss and emptyness that I never felt before from reading a novel, even the first one from the NJO. Anakins death left a bitter taste in my mouth, and if that was what was intended by the author, then he was successful. I have followed Anakins life from the beginning starting in the Dark Empire novels. I always thought he was the one that would pull everyone out of the darkness that has become a staple in the NJO. He overcame his anger and his own self-doubt, and in the end became the best of the Jedi. He found the way to be use an aggressive defense against the Vong, and I thought would be the person who would lead the Jedi after Luke past away in some future novel. I shutter to think of Jacen becoming Lukes heir now. One things is for certain with Jaina and Tahari both turning to the dark side the next book will be interesting.

Summary: Its about time
Review: Im so glad someone else has finally died, fantasy novels keep to many people alive and milk tem for all they are worth for way to long. Its about time someone started killing off characters, and replacing them with younger characters as the series will surely progress to that point. I dont know about most of you, but a book is read for the characters and the action, but with over some hundreds of books later, and the SAME CHARACTERS taking up the spotlight, its refreshing to see more and more die with every few books now. Keep it up, im looking forward to seeing this series of books exploit new characters.

Summary: Why Did You Kill Off Your Meal Ticket?
Review: It was bad enough that you have a a more graphically violent antagonist, maybe the story line needed spicing up.

And, it was bad enough you changed the personalities of Solo children from the gifted Jedi who could conquer the universe at age 7.

And, it was bad enough that you have to kill the wookie Chewbacca, maybe the storyline needed the audience to focus on new characters.

But, what possible purpose could there been in killing off Anakin Solo, the main character focus? I just finished listening to the audio-book Star Wars The New Jedi Order "Star by Star" by Troy Denning. I could't believe it!! I was just started to relate with Anakin and his love interest as being the forebearers of a new future for the Jedi. They would somehow bring an end to the Yuuzhan Vong. But, Nooooooo. Anakin is dead, Jana has given to her anger which is of the dark side, and pacifist Jason takes chapters to make up his mind. Their parents are at home crying about it and Luke is turning geriatric.

I have been a Star Wars fan since the first movie in 1977. I have collected over thirty Star Wars audio books because I enjoy the fantasy of how the Star Wars characters live after the "Return of the Jedi." But, I am dissatisfied with the direction your publishers have taken these books. I will no longer collect these novels.

Summary: BEST STAR WARS NOVEL EVER!!!!!!
Review: After reading Star By Star, I would have to say that this is the best and most exciting Star Wars novel ever! Full of action, ,drama, intrigue, and impending darkness, this novel successfully describes the New Republic's desperate battle with the ruthless aliens. The book was so fast-paced and chock-full of battle sequences, I couldn't put it down. Imagine all the battles in the original trilogy and Phantom Menace and put it all in one novel! Unlike the kiddie-like atmosphere in Phantom Menace, Star By Star reflects the darkness that the alien menace brings fully. The Jedi TRULY are the galaxy's guardians as they bring the battle to the aliens amid John Woo-like action. With the death of another MAJOR character, our original heroes will never be the same, with such a devestating loss. Also, at the end of the novel, the Star Wars galaxy as we know it from the films, will be forever changed. Planets that we know of are destroyed or in the enemy's hands. Read it. Cherish it. It is the New Republic's darkest hour.
