Rating: Summary: I could not put this book down! Review: Lynn Flewelling weaves a magic tapestry. Traitor's Moon, along with the first two novels in the series, are perhaps the best intelligent Fantasy novels I've read in years. Traitor's Moon has it all - wonderful characters you'll cheer for, exciting, page turning excitement, betrayal and triumph, an exotic, magical land, suspense, drama, humor and pathos. The growing relationship between the central characters, Alec and Seregil - true soul mates, is a joy to read. Everyone I've recommended this novel to has absolutely loved it. I'm anxiously looking forward to Book 4 in this exciting, beautifully written Fantasy.
Rating: Summary: Dull Review: I expected more from the series. The first two installments where incredible, but this last one leaves much to be desired. I could care less about how much Alec and Seregil love each other; yes it is good character development, but Lynn Flewelling takes it to far. Where is the action, the suspense, and the character development. Alec's big secret past is anything but a surprise, the whole novel reads like a bad Nancy Drew novel. I was very disappointed, the only redeeming aspects where the characters, and even they are weak in this installment. The whole thing is DULL, DULL, DULL.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful!! Review: Traitor's Moon, like her previous two novels, is a beautiful story filled with mood, magic, mayhem, hope, fear and love. The unique bond between the main characters, Alec and Seregil, is warm, loving, supporting - gorgeous. Both are outrageous rascals, funny, daring and courageous. I can't wait for Book 4, Ms. Flewelling!!
Rating: Summary: It wasnt the best Review: I loved the first two books but this third one bothered me. In fact I read 100 pages and put the book down. It was boring. I hated Sergil and Alec's relationship. To me it made Alec seem more like a support character to Sergil. Alec is my favorite character but this book has made me think twice.
Rating: Summary: The Best Lynn Has Written, so far... Review: I am a reader..a reader of everything fictional, Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I loved Lynn's first two books, Luck in the Shadows and Stalking Darkness. I didn't think she could top herself with Traitor's Moon, but she has taken a near impossible task of writing about Auren and all of its intrigue and hard to pronouce names and made it easy to read and remember. I found myself totally under her spell as I took one day to read it. Congratulations! You are one true talent.
Rating: Summary: first rate, another wonderful chapter Review: A wonderful third chapter in the saga - the author fills in some of the blanks left to tease us in the previous books, but presents others to form the basis for more tales. Clearly there is a wonderful tapestry to be unfolded with tragedy and triumph still to come. The characters are rich and deep and the complexity of their relationships together with the details of the different cultures form a fascinating backdrop to the adventures.
Rating: Summary: Great Again! Review: I loved the first two books in the series. Howevever, I didn't like it as much because it didn't have that urban touch to it.( I have always been a city person and like books that take place in cities cause they're more exciting.) Anyway, if you have read the first two books by her then you will love these.
Rating: Summary: Seregil and Alec are Back Review: I have been haunting the book stores waiting for this book for 2 years. Finally! It was worth the wait. I was interested in seeing where Ms. Flewelling would take us that would be new and I was not disappointed. We /and Alec finally get more information on Seregil's past and the new country has the intrigue we've come to expect. I don't think it's quite as good as Stalking Darkness, but then again, I'm a sucker for angst. You can't beat the end of SD for angst. P.S. Three stars is good for me. I tend to rank against other authors. G.G. Kay is a five. P.S.S. Reading the reviews here made me happy. The homophobes stayed away. Good riddance.
Rating: Summary: Nightrunner Glossary now available online Review: A Public Service Announcement from Your Author: There was to have been a glossary in this book, but production costs caused it to be dropped from the book at the last moment. However, so many people have written to ask for one that I've posted it at my web site. Feel free to print off copies for those who don't have web access. : -) LF
Rating: Summary: Brilliant book! Review: I am in Australia and I had to order this book all the way from amazon.com in the US, but it is more than worth it. I am stunned by the wonderful, complex world LF has created, but I am even more stunned by the characters she's given us. Alec and Seregil have become my favourite characters of all time, second only to Steven Saylor's Gordianus The Finder. The relationship between Alec and Seregil is the most beautiful in fiction, and by this book, the third LF has written in this universe, it is obvious that they are true soul mates. LF makes me love and believe in this same-sex relationship, showing us how wonderfully natural and right this love truly is. The story is complex but rivetting, and I was guessing and on the edge of my seat until all was revealed. The secondary characters are brilliant, and I can hardly wait for Beka and Nyal to join the Watchers and have some cool adventures of their own. Thero has also developed into a marvelous charcater, something I am thrilled about, because I was wondering if he might one day be a nemesis to the heroes. (Nysander seemed worried about this himself) I am predicting the next book will have dragons in it, maybe even titled 'Known To Dragons', quoting Beka from the book. I am also hoping the hint we got about Alec will mean something, that he 'will have no child of a woman' :) Thanks LF, and I hope you are writing the next in this universe!
