Summary: Beautiful book. Interesting Story.
Review: Every reader who enjoyed the Myst and Riven games ought to look at this book, at least for a few chapters. The story of Atrus, his grandmother Anna, and his father Gehn is very interesting albeit slow-paced and a little shallow. The quality of writing is not Grade A, but I wasn't disappointed by any bold errors. I merely wanted to read more depth in everything: in the beautiful scenery and in the characters. As an amateur writer myself, I think the story could have been told at the same pace with much more interesting depth built into every sentence.This is the story before Myst, the first CD-Rom game and still one of the top ten best adventure games ever. It won't explain why Sirrus and Achenar become the upstanding characters they are in the game, but it does show Catherine and Atrus initial contact with each other and the relationship that blooms from that adventure. It also paints Gehn in interesting colors and shows how Atrus proves the strength of this character. I do recommend this book to fantasy readers, especially Myst and Riven fans, despite my stylistic complaints It's a wonderful fantasy to ponder.

Review: I was captivated by this whole trilogy. A must have. I couldn't put it down! I purchased all 3 books & was very satisfied with them. I recommend the CD-Rom games as well. They are equally as great as the 3 books.

Summary: Myst: The Book of Atrus
Review: I loved it! I is an easy book that takes your imagination on a wild ride through space and time its self. Atrus reminds me of me. He is a smart fun-loveing little boy with anough advtureous tendenceys to eguip a large army.

Summary: Excellent intro to the game
Review: When I first played Myst, I got confused with the puzzles and never really got past the 3rd island you travel to. So I gave up on the game. Then Riven came out and RealMyst. Then one day I was walking through (a local store), and saw the entire novel set there. I figured, I loved the game, I wonder how the novels turned out. They're pretty awesome in fact. The way the Book of Atrus starts, I pictured it like a high-budget Hollywood film. I could imagine what all I was reading like it was in a movie. I suggest anyone who's ever been curious about the games and never bought them, to pick up this book before buying the new RealMyst game. It's a much better intro story to the games than the game was. It'll give you a in depth background and storyline to the games. This book answers pretty much why and how everything came to be how it was. Pick it up! Now! GO! lol

Review: I was impressed by the game of Myst and intruiged by the complex and detailed back-story it seemed to have. So, I bought the novels. This novel gives more detail in to the life of Atrus, whom you meet in the game. For those who like to get involved with characters, this book gives great insight into Atrus, his experiences, and his motivations.

It is the story that is based on the game. It is about mastering pieces of parchment that can lead you into other worlds. The boy, Atrus thought the stories his Grandmother told him were just legends, but then his father turns up who he has not seen in a while, and that is where his adventure starts

Review: MYST: The book of Atrus is fantastic. If you want to know more about the story of MYST, and Atrus's history, it's a must read! If you don't, and you've never even played the game, it's still fantasic for fantasty readers! I'll share no secrets, only that you will learn Atrus's past from birth up, why Gehn is as mad as he is, how Gehn was trapped on RIVEN, plus the true writer of MYST- it wasn't Atrus! You'll learn how Atrus came to know what the Art truly was. A fantastic fantasty, well writen, and suspenseful! Get it wherever you can! A MUST READ!
