Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The book that makes you crawl back for more Review: If you've played Myst and/or Riven then this book is a definate must-have. Reading the history of it all will most likely make you crawl back for more (which is what The Book of Ti'ana and D'ni are for right ;)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent book a must read Review: It is a excellent book. Very entertaining. It gives you lots of emotion. It is very well detailed and you can actually feel you are in the book. It has sad parts like when Flame(Atrus cat)dies and when Atrus must leave Anna. I cried when Atrus left Anna. It also has happy parts like when Gehn gets trapped in Riven and Catherine falls in love with Atrus. It was something like a dictionary to the past of Myst. Very good read it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Book I've Ever Read. Review: This book is, by far, the best book I've ever read. The descriptivness of the scenary and plot are amazing, I actually felt like I was walking through exploring these extraordinary worlds. This is truely a masterpeice of literature. I have not yet read the other books, but no mater, no other book could match the genious put forth in The Book of Atrus. If I could recommend any book, it would be this one. It is worth the read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: best book I've ever read... Review: This book is truly a masterpiece. If I could rate it ten stars, I would. I first learned of this book when I saw it sitting in the local library, beckoning me to read it. I was excited to find it there after completing the game MYST. You get to know how Atrus was brought up by his grandmother, Anna (Ti'ana), and how he was taken by his father Gehn. You watch him grow into a fine young man. He must find out on his own how "the Art" really works and must choose between his own father or going with the values his grandmother teaches him. He meets Catherine and she helps him fight his father. Though the book starts out slow, you will be pulled into it's tense climax and ending. This book is for anyone, whether you've played MYST or not, I highly recommend it for it's morals.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A clear picture of Atrus' life before the CD-ROM game Review: This book gives you what Atrus, ruler of Myst island, experienced as a child to when he reached his late teens. When he first reached ten, he traveled with his long lost father, Gehn, to the underground world of D'ni. After studying the D'ni Art(writting 'worlds' or 'ages' through books), Gehn restricted Atrus' privliges and soon came to the point where there were serious problems. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the MYST game or is an interest for reading it. This book also gives you how Riven became a problem in the sequel to the game MYST, RIVEN.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: BOA gives Atrus II, MYST, and Riven's histories. Review: This book, with in-depth information surprised me as a well-written follow up to a successful CD-ROM game. It tells the history of Atrus II, and his relations with his father, Gehn. It gives lots of information that helps the reader understand the ages of MYST and Riven much better. It is extremely descriptive, and very informative. It goes far into the personas and psyches of Catherine, Atrus II, Gehn, and Ana. The only reason I deprived it of a star was that the plot was more of an episode of Atrus' life, and not much of a beginning or ending. It just seemed fragmented, but it was still excellent.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Trust me - you'll read it again. Review: The Book of Atrus was wonderful. I had recently finished playing Myst, and the book was a wonderful explanation of how things came to be. Even if you haven't played Myst, The Book of Atrus is great on its own - no previous knowledge of D'ni and its people needed. It's a great book. The cover is already dog-eared, and trust me, yours will be, too!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Read This Book Now! Review: This is an astoundingly good book, even if you don't like the video game. Definitely one of my all-time favorites.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Must Have for Myst/Riven players and others alike!!! Review: This was the first of the three books of Myst that I read, and I must say,it gave me a lot of background, not just on the setting of the game Myst, but on the characters themselves. It also told the history of Riven and the hole thing about the fissure, and Catherine, and Gehn... but of course you need to have read the book or played one of the two computers games to know what I 'm talking about. But even for people who have never heard the word "D'ni" before... it's an adventure in itself. Excellent description, you could almost feel like you were "in the book":) (A little joke for people who've read or played the game before.) In another words...if you want to know what the heck I'm talking about, get the book. Heck, GET ALL THREE!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Extremely well written, a must-read! Review: I'm an aspiring author myself, and I rate books on how much they make me want to keep writing. As soon as I finished reading (which took about 9 hours) I hopped onto my computer and wrote a five page story. This book was really inspiring. I loved how they developed the characters and the descriptions are absolutely wonderful. I you love Myst and Riven you have to read these, and if you don't, then buy the games, play them, and then buy the books.
