Summary: A great book. One of the best of Anne McCaffery.
Review: A very good book with a great ending fitting for Anne McCaffery. ( I should know I read all the others ) It's fun, heart-pounding, and sad all at the same time!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: McCaffrey engages the reader from her very first words.
Review: It is difficult to imagine an author surpassing McCaffrey with her characters so humanly and skillfully portrayed. From Robinton to Menolly and all those in between, we are always indebted for their existence by both their nobility and their foibles although there are a few we wouldn't wish to "Fax". One grieves with the Masterharper's passing as with the loss of a friend. If their is a fictional world which I would wish to inhabit, it is Pern. I own all the books in her "Pern" series and have reread them so often that it seems they have "betweened" into my home. There are probably greater books of literature but I haven't read or found them yet.

Summary: I Love Pern in all it's Glory
Review: I have read all of Anne McCaffrey's books.Pern series is my favorite. There is nothing more thrilling than to read about riding dragons.I have re read all of the Pern series over 8 times each. Not 1 of her books has any slow areas. They grab you and hold your attention right from the beginning. When that last page is done you beg for more.

Summary: Anne McCaffery has out done herself
Review: Brava to Anne McCaffery. She has written one of the best stories in the series with "All the Wyers of Pern". I'm glad that Jaxsom and Ruth are a major part of ridding the planet of thread. I can't wait to see what other books will come in the series.

Summary: Adds closure, albeit sad, to the Pern series
Review: First, don't intend on reading this unless you've been following the Pern series beginning with "Dragonflight" and "Dragonsong"--it wasn't meant to stand alone, but rather to add closure to the entire series (takes off right after "The Renegades of Pern"). "All the Weyrs of Pern" has one of the most emotional endings, and although sad, helps to really "end" the series. The entire book will maintain your interest, and is well written. Of course, the plan to eliminate Thread takes some imagination--but it seems plausible when you're reading it. One interesting thing is Ms. McCaffrey's exultation of Jaxom (rider of the white dragon Ruth), who was actually the evil Fax's child! That actually didn't sit well with me and was quite surprising. Altogether a good read, a must-read for devoted Pern series lovers!

Summary: Worlds best fantasy SF
Review: This book was extremely well written. Anne McCaffery has a great ability to write visual prose. This book and this series has kept me coming back time and again to read all of her books. Thanks Anne.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Just for collectors - but still fun
Review: Certainly this is one of the weaker books coming from the "Pern"-Titles. For someone who has not read anything referring to this serie, I would not recommend the book. But it certainly is still entertaining (for collectors it is a must). While Anne McCaffrey managed very well in "Dragonsdawn" and/or "First Fall" to create a vivid picture of technical advanced pernese, here the extreme mixture of high tech (artificial intelligence) and so well known "non-tech" characters disrupts the usually so colorfull atmosphere. But when she turns to what she is best in - describing people and their interactions - Anne McCaffrey is as good as ever.

Summary: Spectacular! A wonderful culmination of events on Pern!
Review: "All the Weyrs of Pern" is the climax and resolution of the Pern series. Emotions run high although SOME OTHER READERS feel that the book is about as personal as mud... I recommend beginning at "Dragonflight" or "Dragonsong" and you will understand it better. I really appreciate bringing all the parallel books into one end. Speaking of the end, get some tissue, would you?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very nice, a must-read for anyone who loves Pern
Review: I have to say, some of McCaffrey's later works are really awful. If you have read the Renagedes of Pern you know what I mean -- BLEAK! Even the one about the start of Pern, Dragonsdawn or something, was really bad (don't read it, no, really, I mean it). This book, however, was golden, and an absolute must-read. Yes, do get a box of tissus for the end. But read it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great!
Review: I don't think I can really say anything except the book was great. I've reread it at least a dozen times (which is not an exageration). Just Wonderful!
