Summary: Nice side trip
Review: ...I did enjoy this novella. It wasn't incredibly informative or additive to the whole series, but it was a very nice, character-driven diversion for a 2 - 3 night short read. Zedd's past is interesting, and more insight is given about the Mord-Sith, which was helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to read some "old" Goodkind; uncomplicated and entertaining.

Summary: Amazing
Review: All I have to say about Debt of Bones is that I loved it. Terry Goodkind is s uch a brilliant author, and he really creates an excellent base for his Sword of Truth Series. I have read every one of them, and I tell you, there is no greater fantasy writer, nor a greater fan.

Summary: Debt of bones
Review: Debt of bones is a good book if you're into fantasies. This book is about a woman named Abby, and a wizard named Zedd. Zedd's father owed Abby's mother a debt, but they both died so it was passed on to their children. At the end of this book you get a big suprise. I give this book five stars because of the action packed surprise ending.

Summary: Nice Addition to Goodkind Universe
Review: Excellent background story about creating the Boundries. While you get some of the detail this story has to offer in Wizard's First Rule, this story provides greater depth. Well written, fast paced, and a must read for all Goodkind fans.

Summary: What a relief...
Review: Finally, Mr. Goodkind puts out a story that is a good read from cover to cover. It is enjoyable in the way his first books were. This story takes place before any of the charecters that we so love (Richard, Kahlan, Cara) are born. Zedd is a young man and his wife has been killed by The Lord Rahl of the time. Zedd is about to give up on everyone when a young woman comes into the picture and helps steer him back.

This book is very short in comparison to his other books, but that is not necessarily bad. The short length means that the book has to concentrate on the story and its characters and as a result you don't get the pages of preaching that has become Goodkind's trademark as of late. I recommend this book to all Sword of Truth readers and escpecially to those longing for a return to Goodkind's earlier writing style.

Summary: Read it in LEGENDS instead
Review: Four stars for the story, one star for this printing. This is a good prequel to the Sword of Truth series, giving background information on Zedd. Don't bother buying it as a separate book, when you can get basically the same story in the LEGENDS collection of short stories. Plus, there's a short story by George R.R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire prequel) in the same book.

Summary: The Wind of Death
Review: From what i can tell this is Terry Goodkind's first story writen in this world. It doesnt have chapter names but you can see breaks where they should be. From what I can tell it first appeared in a book of short storys. Its a short book but helps you get a better idea of Zed.. both of his power and why he chose to reside in westland. This is also a nice book to read on a trip.. if you have a few hours and want a good story this will hit the spot.

I have heard people claim that Abby is miss done and was ment to be Addy but I asure you, they are very different people. Not only does this story tell about zed, but you get to hear about more wizzards! the keep at its end seems amazing and the pictures will spellbind you!

Summary: Not up to par for Goodkind
Review: I am disappointed in this book. I had to discuss quite a number of points with a friend to clear up inconsistencies. As other readers point out, Zedd's daughter is too young to bear Richard. In the Sword of Truth series, the boundary went up many years ago and only the elderly remember it. The Mother Confessor's daughter in this book is 12. How does that relate to Kahlan? I am sure that Terry Goodkind could clear up the timeline if he wanted, but as it stands, this book creates an inconsistent timeline.

Most confusing, is in the introduction Goodkind explains that this book is about two characters he has not been able to write enough about, Abby and Zedd. Who is Abby? She resembles Adie in some regards, however, is definitely not the same character. Both a friend of mine and I originally had the two characters confused, until we remembered that the character was named Adie and not Abby. I would reword the introduction to avoid confusing the reader.

Summary: A long standing fan of Goodkind's
Review: I have been reading Goodkind's books since the first day that Wizards First Rule made its appearance on the bookshelves across the country. I have read each and everyone of his books and loved this one almost as much as I loved his other novels. The book answers many of the questions that fans have had about Zed and Addie. It also leaves some questions open and yet to be resolved. For example: in the Wizard's First Rule, Addie speaks of her beloved Pel. In this book her husband's name is Philip, obviously something is missing here.

This aside, this is a great story of the first meeting between Addie and Zed who appear to know each other quite well in the Wizard's First Rule. It tells the tale of how Addie obtains the assistance of Zed to save her family and her village of Coney Reach and how Zed has earned the nickname "the trickster".

Those that enjoyed the other Sword of Truth books will definitely enjoy this one. But be prepared to complete reading of this novel in approximately one or two hours - its that good. I give the book four stars rather than the maximum five because, while it is a great book, its not as good, in my opinion, as some of his other work.

Summary: A great mini story in the Sword of Truth series
Review: I personally thought this mini story was great it is about a woman whos entire village is held hostage by D'haran forces. The woman is forced to seek the First Wizard for help in rescuing her family and friends. Waht she doesn't know is she will have a greater purpose then simply freeing her village but in saving someone who will have a major effect on the world. If you have read the Sword of Truth series i would highly suggest reading this story it is a great add on to the series.
