Summary: Pre-release hype.
Review: I've checked back on amazon.com to check out SOTF, and I have also read some of the customer reviews. The book isn't even out yet and people are already giving it 5 stars, and they haven't even read it yet. I love the Sword of Truth series, but all the pre-release hype of this book is getting ridiculous. Wait until it comes out first, then write a review.

Summary: What's going on here?
Review: Doesn't it strike you as odd that so many people are reviewing a book that no one has read? I know I'm a pot calling the kettle black, but when I came to amazon.com to check on Goodkind's next book I couldn't help but wonder at the 87 (that's what it was when I wrote this) people reviewing a book that comes out in April. Anyway, on the Issue of Jordan vs. Goodkind I would have to say that I prefer Goodkind. Jordan and Goodkind are just different writers. It's like asking if a steak or ice cream is better. They're both wonderful, just different.

Summary: Goodkind vs. Jordan...
Review: Goodkind's series has allowed me to recover from Jordan's long respites and somewhat mundane last offering. Jordan has become too enthralled with his imagery and settings and seems to have forgotten he is writing a Fantasy novel that generally revolves around action. Jordan is the most talented writer I have read yet he makes me want to strangle him(not literally) at times. Goodkind is writing entertaining yet readable novels that offer moral lessons and believable storylines. I am purchasing this novel and every other one he writes when it hits the bookstore.

Summary: Goodkind definatly a forerunner in Fantasy Novels
Review: Not only am I captivated by the enticing imagery goodkind reveals in his books but the story line seems to draw me into its world as if I were there. I have read many different authors hack and slash series but this one is different. Not only does it stimulate my mind but the characters are believable. Maybe not in the magic sense but the emotions are definatly there. Starting with Wizards first Rule, I discovered a plot line that was an equal to The Lord Of The Rings. In no way am I demeaning Tolkien but Goodkind has a feel of real life and fantasy at the same time. I plan on buying his newest book when it comes out in april.

Summary: A great mind
Review: I love Terry Goodkind's books. Each and every one. But like most of the people who commented, I'm not here to give my feelings on it, but to comment on the Jordan vs. Goodkind thing. I have read Goodkind's books more times than I can count. I began reading the 1st chapter of the 1st book in Jordans series, and all I remember is that I woke up. His books were so incredibly boring that I couldn't even get through the 1st chapter w/out falling asleep. I think Terry Goodkind has an amazing mind, an incredible intellect, and a vivid, stunning imagination. I don't have 1 piece of criticism for any of his writing. It is smooth and seamless. While it has a few flaws, that is really what makes it flawless. I applaud you Mr. Goodkind.

Summary: An excellent series!
Review: I begin reading Jordan's books first and I loved them. While waiting for Path of Daggers(this is the only Jordan book that disappointed me, it didn't answer enough questions and didn't accomplish anything seriously landmark), I decided to pick up the Sword of Truth series. I didn't like the start of the first one, but slowly bonded with the characters(love 'em now). I like the Jordan series a little better(his world is more detailed, and he has more main characters). Also I think Rand is more down to earth(compared to Richard). His fighting skills are his own(not provided by a magical sword), and his powers don't automatically kick in to save him when he gets into a pinch. Overall I like them both.

Summary: Stop the reviews please!
Review: first of all I'm not giving the book five stars I'm giving the author five stars. The depth he throws into his books is unparalleled in my mind and I've read some of the greats. Jordan, Feist, Anthony, McCaffrey, Tolkien, you name em I've read something by them and Goodkind takes the cake no contest. It's like a nonstop rollercoaster that you never want to end, so please stop nockin' my boy before i have to get medievil on your @$$ :) have a nice day

Summary: 600 pages and nothing accomplished
Review: I *really* liked the WoT series thus far. But it sure seemed like nothing much happened in The Path of Daggers. Barely a mention of Mat Cauthan(sp?)... and it didn't seem like much progress made. I am not an author, and have no idea what it is like to be an author, but it seemed to me like it *couldn't* have taken a year to write that book (daggers).

I *really* like Goodkind's books thus far as well. I also like broccoli, and carrots, but I wouldn't compare one to the other.

Summary: One of the greatest books written
Review: Terry Goodkind is the master of fantasy. I was captivated by the adventures of his charactors and am anxiously awating the sequel. Over all his sword of truth series is compelling and I recomend anyone who has not read this series to read it.

Summary: Jordan vs. Goodkind; the debate goes on
Review: OK well I am absolutely in love with both authors (if you REALLY want, I'll throw Tad Williams into the mix too). A friend of mine and I have often compared the pros and cons of both authors. In some ways I like Goodkind better, in some Jordan. I feel more of a companionship with Goodkind's characters (I've only cried once for a bad situation in Jordan's series, of which I have read all 8 of the books that are currently out but I've cried countless times in Goodkind's). He has excellent character development and an intriguing plotline that keeps me wanting more but Jordan has an incredibly intriguing plotline as well. Normally, when a story drags on and on like a soap opera I get irritated and impatient but with Jordan it's different. He keeps me constantly intrigued and hungry for his next novel. Goodkind keeps me wanting more in a different way. I'm more patient with the next book in Goodkind's series (I guess b/c sometimes they actually work as stand-alones, whereas Jordan's do not by any means) but with Jordan I'm ravenous for his next book. Who's better? I can't say; I love both equally.
