Summary: Go! Goodkind Go!
Review: SOT series ROCKS!!! I can never imagine how Goodkind comes up with books like that! I have read every single book in the series countless times. Even my friend, who hates all that fantasy stuff is hooked on Goodkind's books. HOW DOES HE DO IT???!!! For all you Jordan fans out there, I read the first chapter of Jordan's "Wheel of Time" I can honestly say that it was rather dull, BUT you can never judge a book by its first chapter. From all the reviews I've read, I'm sure that Jordan's books are pretty interesting. No matter what, SOT series will always be my favorite books. =)

Summary: This novel is wise but distant.
Review: Sir, I began reading 'Stone of Tears' before starting with the first one: 'Wizard's First Rule' As a rational thinker, the very second book had crushly impacted on how I think about different things. I may be explaining simple, but you gonna know that Terry is grasping for something. He has further done that in his new distant 'Soul of the Fire' Just about finishing that book, I could feel that my soul is surely being pulled inward into the very fantasy of Terry's mind! Try it! There is nothing better if you don't try!

Summary: A true fantasy from a fantastic author
Review: When I first was given the books to read I wasn't too thrilled, fantasy isn't my thing. But, I must admit that from the first chapter in the first book I was HOOKED. I truly loved reading Goodkind's epic fantasy, it enthralled me beyond belief! He has such an unique style in his writing that keeps me reading on and on. The adventures and dilemmas that Richard and Kahlan can't seem to keep away always manages to be equally exciting and page-turning! Zedd's character is my favorite and so is Nathan. They both add a good amount of humor to the drama going on in Richard's life. I can't wait to read the fifth book and know that there are plenty of other's out there also sitting on the edge of there sits waiting! Each character is unique and there is always a surprising twist to something that throws you off course for a bit. Like when I read about Raina and Berdine, the Mord-Siths. I wasn't expecting that, to say the least. I really can't wait to read the fifth book and hope that everyone takes the time to look it over! Even if you don't like fantasties, this will be well worth the effort!

Summary: Questioning
Review: I have so far, read each of Terry Goodkinds works. And I have found them to be entertaining. His writing cannot be described as genuinely creative. There are plenty of outside influences that can be seen in his writing. There are indeed gaps in his writing and in the worlds that he has developed. However, if we are going to pull every work of fiction apart and examine it from cover to cover under a microscope than I guess it would be better to read a biology text. I read fantasy because it is fun and care free. I enjoy a well-told story and can avoid getting caught up in needing too many details, yet Goodkind spins an excellent and very entertaining tale. His books are well worth the time to read. I have not yet received "Soul of the Fire" but look forward to reading it.

Summary: Goodkind rocks
Review: I'm a huge Jordan fan, but I must say that Terry Goodkind's style is a refreshing change from Jordan's. I can't wait to read Soul of the Fire. Temple of the Winds was nothing short of amazing. I like how Goodkind doesn't leave you hanging by your fingernails at the end of the book. (As Jordan did at the end of "A Crown of Swords") P.S. - I love the cover art on most of Goodkind's books. The Soul of the Fire cover looks a little like the Stone of Tears cover (one of my favorites) ..the only covers I didn't really like were Wizard's First Rule and Blood of the Fold, but both of those are twice as good as any Wheel of Time cover I've ever seen.

Summary: he is a wonderful author
Review: I have always been told to never judge a book by its cover but i started reading Goodkind because i liked the cover art of Wizard's First Rule but this one time you could judge a book by its cover.

Summary: Ok, I'm lying here, but follow me..
Review: Terry Goodkind is NOT Tolkien. Goodkind writes the only decent fantasy novels (and the story itself is just decent..nothing spectacular) but his charecters are AMAZING. Case in point: Zedd. Zedd is HYSTERICAL. He is the funniest charecter I have ever seen. Richard..well, he's boring. Typical good doer (consider 90% of the time I was rooting for the bad guys in any book..need to find one where the bad guys win..) but he's perfect for his surrounding cast. Kahlan is a great "woman hear me roar" type and I fell in love with the dominatrix from the first book (so much in love all I can remember is Mord Sith). But the story takes great turns in the previous 4 so I can't say it's all charecters. Great books. Zedd will make you laugh.. or hungry depending upon the scenes and the rest just falls into place. So, yes, buy the series. Thanks.

Summary: LCD fantasy
Review: The number of 'reviews' on this page, and the slavering commentary, is really quite hilarious--but it is a mirth spiked with sorrow. Terry GoodKind is LCD fantasy: lowest-common-denominator clap-trap drivel that insults the intelligence but certainly appeals to those that like to read large books ("Wow! 800 pages!") that in 'truth' do little to challenge the cranium. The SOT world has shallow depth, stolen creativity, and virtually no insight into the complexities of relationships or the historic and mythological details that make up a good world. I would say that the characters come straight from a comic book or sitcom, but I've seen/read far better on puply pages and the 'eternal society screen.' And to those thousands of Goodkind fans reading this, unfurrow that brow and ungrit those teeth: this is just a viewpoint, no more, no less. My only suggestion is to READ the book before cobbling together your love-letters...
