Summary: argument, and review type thingy...
Review: I can't believe the rating some of the other customers gave this book! I mean, okay, Soul of the Fire is not wuite as "actionay" and ragining battles and all that like Terry's other four books, but it's still far beyond most other fantasy writer's books. In this one, yes Kahlan and Richard take a break of sorts, but the plot... it twists and turns all over the place. There are some points in the book, when conversations get slightly boring, but in the next chapter things pick up. The ending is different than the endings of the other Sword of Truth series books, but the key word here is DIFFERENT, not worse. Who knows, the ending was vague, so it might be (hopefully not), an ending for the Sword of Truth series, or it might be the beginning of a new book. Like all other Terry Goodkind books, it was exciting, romantic, had action, and a twisting plot. Overall, this book, though not the highlight of the series, was definetly worth the read and the money. (and as for all those people who said this book had more perversion in it than other books - A. No, it didn't and B. If you can't handle it, then don't buy the books)

Summary: Blaaaah!!!
Review: I think the book doesn't take you anywhere..... It's just a little event in the line of time.... It shouldn't take a whole book to write about it.

Summary: Flat. Unexceptional.
Review: Well, what a kind coincidence for us fantasy lovers that the latest entries in the epic sagas are being released almost back to back. Finish Robert Jordan's awful _A Path Of Daggers_, pick up George RR Martin's depressing _A Clash Of Kings_ and viola': Terry Goodkind's _Soul Of The Fire_ is waiting in the wings. Which is to say, it makes it perfect to compare and contrast these authors' styles. In my opinion there is absolutely no doubt that Terry Goodkind's is easily the worst of the bunch. There is no depth and meticulous precision as in Robert Jordan's best work and the characters are not the realistic and complex beings that Martin has created. In fact, I find it impossible to find a real character in _Soul Of The Fire_ that is truly three dimensional and not too goody-two-shoes or the ultimate scary boy. If you end up having the good guys on one side and the bad ones on the other it makes for boring reading, the end is obvious and anticlimactic. So it seems that to infuse a bit of spice into the mix, Goodkind inserts episodes of dubious sadistic violence (that's the way I read it) that make me cringe, especially because it is inevitably directed at women. Don't get me wrong, I thought that Denna's brutal treatment of Richard in _Wizard's First Rule_ was the book's lofty highlight. But I have not seen anything to match it since. Yuck.

Summary: Great!
Review: I thought it was a really good book, if quite a bit different from the first four. There are times when you want to put it down and take a nap, but there are a great many more where you couldn't put it down if you tried. It's worth the money, although I would almost recommend reading it from the library and THEN buying it if you like it.

Summary: What happened to this great writer.....
Review: I mean, why on earth did he write this fifth novel? I gave it two stars becouse it lacked everything that made The Sword of Truth a great story. Why would he write about people who have no impact on the story at all? And what is it with the sex thing? When I first read the readers reviews I thought that it was just an American thing to be so shocked by the sex in the novels of Terry Goodkind but they are right. There is absolutely no reason to write the things he wrote in the fifth novel. I will wait until the sixth novel and I will definetely read it because I totally loved the first couple of books (book 1 was far out the greatest) but when this sixth novel is just as bad as the last one, I will quit reading this series before it will change my view on the Sword of Truth story. Please take some more time to develope the end and please don't give me any chicken-who-is-not-a-chicken stories anymore Mr. Goodkind....

Summary: You are forgetting!
Review: You have all seemed to have forgotten that we are only observers of Richard and Kalahn. THis is their world and their lives. Who are we to judge what goes on in there world. Myself, I have fallen in love with each and every people in this wonderful world, and I for one am glad thet they had a brief rest from the torments of their hectic lives(sort-of) As far as the new elements and people in their world, I'm glad that they showed up.

Summary: here we go again
Review: On the low rocks behind Richard, his golden cloak fluttered in the wind, catching her eye. His arm tightened around her. It was not a loving gesture. Something moved in the water. A quick twist of light. Maybe a reflection off the scales of a fish. It was almost there, but wasn't....like something seen out of the corner of her eye. A direct look betrayed naught. "Whats the matter?" she asked as Richard pulled her farther back. "It was just a fish or something." Richard rose up in one swift smooth movement, lifting her clear of the water. "Or something." Water sluiced from her. Naked and exposed to the icy breeze, she shivered as she scanned the clear stream. "Like what? What is it? What do you see?" His eyes flicked back and forth, searching the water. "I don't know". Again we journey to the world of Richard Cypher in this the fifth book of Terry Goodkinds Sword of truth series. We last left our heroes in the grips of passion as they celebrated their wedding, but before the night was through, a new threat appeared. Kahlan by calling on the three chimes...Reechani....Vasi...Sentrosi...To save Richard from death by the plague, has also let them cross the veil into the world of the living. The chimes using fire, water and air seduce people to their deaths, but that is not all, The chimes were a spell cast by wizards of the past to counter magic, once the chimes are lose, the world of magic starts to die. Even as our heroes set out to find a way to banish the chimes back to the under world their magic is failing. Meanwhile Emperor Jagang and his huge army slowly but surely march on into the Midlands, threatening to take over Anderith and use it's awesome weapon, the Dominie Dirtch to destroy Richard and his army in one foul swoop. Richard must balance the needs of the people in his new empire against the need to destroy the chimes. Richard and Kahlin realize that in traveling to Anderith, not only will they have a chance at stopping Jagang, but Anderith also has something to do with the chimes. Can Richard figure out how to stop these unseen stalkers of the soul, and save the world of magic, because for a wizard, there is no place more dangerous than a world without magic. I feel that Terry has gone to sleep during this book, it is not up to the standard of the other four, but it is still a good read and kept me amused for a couple of weeks. Bring on book six.

Summary: Was worth Reading of course!
Review: To my satisfaction Soul of the Fire was very good reading, I enjoyed the introduction of new characters once again and the never ending love of Richard and Kahlan. The ending to this was quite a suprise as the Mother Confessor and Richard both were. Geez I can't wait for the next one. Book 5 is very good. Way To Go Terry.

Summary: Character development=Incessant Bickering...
Review: Dear Mr. Goodkind: PLEASE stop reading Jordan. Character development is NOT merely describing tedious arguements between the reluctant hero and those who STILL dont believe him when he says that the sky is falling. I enjoyed the earlier SOT novels, but it is really getting creepy how this is all turning into Wheel Of Time Lite.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Goodkind is still terrific!
Review: I read all of his books and still wasn't dissapointed. He is the only fantasy arthor that I look forward to reading and I have tried some of the others arthor and they were big fantasy arthors and I couldn't into there books. I hope he kepts the series going or keep on writing more fantasies I really do enjoy reading his stories.
