Summary: Very good book a page turner
Review: Goodkind's new book Soul of the Fire is like his previous Sword of Truth series. There are some slow parts in the middle of the book but they are nessessary to the plot and it will all come together in the end. He has created a real page turner and in the process left the reader wanting for more. The character's are well thought out and very detailed it make the reader feel like he is part of the story line.

Summary: Doesn't work. Either should the author... anymore.
Review: The first thing you notice is the seemingly gradeschool-esque tone of the book. The first half of the book is essentially, "See Richard run", "See Kahlan jump", "Oooh, spooky chickens". And how poor the transition between feelings... "And so, Zedd cried!.. Then he was happy!.. now mystified,, alas, he cries again.." Gime a break. The book rambles endlessly on, seemingly with no true regard for the existing storyline. What a terrible book...

Summary: was great
Review: goodkind cotinued the sword of truth series with a book exceeded the greatness of temple of the winds, which came before it. it is the best fantasy series currently out, and will undoubtedly become a classic.

Summary: THIS A GREAT BOOK! DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!
Review: First of all, I'm so glad I did not listen to the negative reviews by some reviewers. This is a great book with a great story. Their are very few authors who can write a great story and still have a message in it, too. Mr. Goodkind is one of the best SF author in our time. This series is long, but it does not drag on. He is actually sharing something new and fresh in each book. I can't wait for book #6 to comes out.

Signed, #1 FAN

Summary: Too much wading through character development.
Review: Very disappointing effort from Mr. Goodkind. Based on the first four volumes, I expected the same intricate story lines and plot development, and received about 300 pages of the political intrigue in Anderith. Who cares? This sequel was only loosely tied into the plot of the series by the ever-present references to the Dominie Dirtch and how the Imperial Order would win if they gained control. All the other nonsense with Fitch and the Hakens seemed very irrelevant. Definitely not Mr. Goodkind's best effort.

Summary: I loved this book as I have loved each before it.
Review: My only regret is that there in not another. Starting with the SOT through SOF I have enjoyed every word and savored every minute of time spent on these books. (I loved the balance of humor present in the words and appearances of Zeb.) I have read some of the reviews questioning characters and certain deeds in the different books..my only thought when reading some of these, or should I say suggestion to these readers is.. Next time READ ALL THE WORDS! These are all wonderful books.

Summary: What's a 'Soul of the Fire' anyway?
Review: The Goddess of Death I think this is a very cool book. I liked this book because there was a lot of death. I like death. Especially for no apparent reason. I also like evil chicken monsters. They make me laugh. But that's not the point. The point is, a lot of people are invented solely for the purpose of dying and stating their violent sexual preferences, sometimes the former occuring before the latter, especially in Darken Rahl's case. But I'm not complaining. I think Darken Rahl is cool. He killed hundreds of innocent people. Or Terry Goodkind did. I'm still not sure about that...but it doesn't matter. What matters is that there are some characters that really irritate me. They refuse to die. I can count the surviving main characters of Soul of the Fire on one hand, but they never die. All these other characters are invented, made complex and seem to come alive. Then they die. That strikes me as humorous. But these main characters won't follow the pattern. Perhaps it would ruin the book for some people if they did. But not for me. I would probably laugh. Then Terry could bring in all the other characters that it seems like he's forgotten about and have them kill some people. Or would that be illogical?

Summary: Who wrote this book?
Review: Richard gave up. A whole book where Richard doesn't fight. We here about a bunch of people who die in the end for 350 pages of the 500 page book. But hey now that Kahlan lost her baby boy I guess they can have another child without fear of it being like that, even if it is a boy it's not the one shota had the bad dreams about.

I didn't like this one it was to much about stratigy. I liked it when there was action and now the only reason I put up with it is cause I want to know what happens to Richard and Kahlan. Richard GAVE UP. Does he even read his own books??? I read a review for the fourth book, I don't know if it was really him but it was here in amazon and it said author review and in it he said something along the lines of people who didn't like his book being dumb, and that the temple was his best book. I disagree and so do most the people who reviewed it. Don't take offense like that just fix it!

Summary: Well written book to set up an even better one in the future
Review: Terry Goodkind has once again shown his mastery in the realm of Fantasy. I think that Soul of Fire was a little slow, but that Goodkind does a marvelous job in setting up the forthcoming volume. My only negative critisim has to do with the lack of information on Chase, Gratch, etc. BUT, I do think that they will come into play in the next book. All I can say is that anyone who enjoys fantasy would love this series and that I'm impatiently waiting on the next...and the next...and the next...

Summary: Incredible sequel, begging for one of its own!
Review: Goodkind does it again. This book picks up where we left off and takes us along for a wonderful ride. However, our heros disappear for a great portion of this book. We learn a lot about some new characters. So much so, that at times you find yourself asking, "Where are Richard and Kahlan?" (Not to mention...Zedd, Ann, Nathan, etc.) True to form, Goodkind wraps up some loose ends but leaves others dangling in time. Leaving his reader wondering if this is the final book, or will he come back with a sequel to finish all aspects of the series. Overall, it is an entertaining piece.
