Summary: The best series on the market.
Review: This is the best series on the market

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fascinating story, but ragged as hurried ending
Review: The book was really good, interesting, fascinating even. However, only about half of it is about the principal characters of the series, Richard, Kahlan etc. In fact the principal and pivotal character of the book turns out to be Dalton Campbell, and his ultimately empty rise to power and fortune. Granted that the story had to revolve around the land of Anderith because of the chimes, but it could focus more on Richard and his struggle with them rather than the politics of the court there. Also Mr.Goodkind contnues to create interesting characters, sorceresses, scullions and maids with dreams, only to destroy them abruptly in the end. It is a let down to have a character built up for 5-6 chapters demolished in the space of 5 paragraphs (Fitch). All this apart the ending was ragged, jammed together and hurried along. While this makes for tremendously exciting reading, gripping the reader by the throat, it also leaves a lot of unresolved issues and questions in our minds. But if the series is to be continued, of course, That is exactly what we want. Thank you, Mr Goodkind.

Summary: too much repitition, jagged ending, worthless new characters
Review: Soul of the fire is another book about the trials and tribulations of Richard and his mother confessor bride. My main complaint with the book is the endless repitition of past events from the previous books. I swear if you take out all the needless reiteration of what has come before this book would be about 200 pages long instead of 500+. Maybe in the future they could publish two versions one for people who have never read a Sword of truth book and one for the rest of us who have. Of the remaining 200 pages that actually contain new content most are tied up with boring characters whom don't do anything exciting. They're so boring we don't care what happens to them in the end. The ones with any spark at all disappear after their introdution and are barely heard from again- Franca the sorceress for example. The book ends in a very jagged manner. The story lines seem to end abrubtly without sufficient closure to tide us over till the next book. You know there will be at least 10 books in this series (10 wizard rules, 10 books) I really liked the first book in this series but the repetition of past events is really a waste of my entertainment dollar.

Summary: Fairly good....unsatisfactory ending
Review: Goodkind has been doing good work. He is following in Roger Zelazny's footsteps in leaving the reader dangling at the end of a story. This one felt too much like it was being written to fill space for the next novel. I hope they get better.

Summary: 1st book awesome in every details-this book is the reverse
Review: first book i read with intrigue, slowly turning the pages to fully absorbs the storyline that came into life in my mind. Felt compassion for the characters. This book i couldn't flip the darn pages quick enough so i could buy something else. i will find a new author that will keep focus on his style from the first book till the last one he creates in his lifetime. you sold out to the publishers. i hope you sixth book will be reviewed by faithful readers before you have the nerve to publish garbage. protect the environment buddy.

p.s. i will always treasure your first book. thank you for the good times.

Summary: Well, in for a penny...
Review: I found this book to bea good read, a bit dry, but all in all, very decent. It was refreshing to hear about topics other than war (although a bit more action couldn't have hurt). The Haken/Ander history was intriguing, although some characters were overused, i.e, Fitch. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the sixth book. Hopefully, there will be a "Duel of the Fates" in which it comes down to one on one with Jagang and Richard (I can't beleive he gave up!). That's another thing; why on earth did Richard give up? was it to give an excuse to re-incorperate Chase and co.? Hopefully, Kahlan or Cara will talk Richard into getting it together. For those of you who rated the book 5 stars, well, it's not that great. For those of you who rated it 1 star, reconsider, at least until the sixth installment comes out.

Summary: I loved it! Where's the next one?
Review: A great book. I can not wait for the next one. I enjoyed all the new characters they keep the books new and exciting.

Summary: Transition book
Review: Disappointing. Felt more like a transition story. A prologue even

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Sleeper
Review: Transitional or not, this book was slow and boring. The first four were excellent! Must have been a push to meet a contractual novel clause cause it just doesn't stand up!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Wait for the paperback edition
Review: I was disappointed in this book. I was about two thirds of the way finished with it when I realized that absolutely nothing had happened. Being part of a good series makes the book worth reading. It is not worth buying the hardcover edition.
