Rating: Summary: ROBERT JORDAN IS THE BEST AUTHOR EVER! Review: If anyone reads these books and doesnt think that these books are the greatest ever, well then that person is a fool...PLOT,CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, ACTION, ETC.... There are too many good things to write about these books..I find it very interesting that he can plan out so well what happens in these books...ITS HARD..Ive tried writing my own books many times just too watch them fizzle into oblivion..I think its important to read these books more than once with great care and people would be suprised at what they find. I read LOTS some might say that no books come close to these or that these books suck.. I personaly know that it IS POSSIBLE to write better books I just havent seen it happen yet.. :) In closing I would like to thank Mr. Jordan for composeing these masterpieces. I know that that human intent is to first make money and not please others and this is aplicable to him as well. Also i know that when the books finish it may well close a fleeting chapter in my life, short lived but well worth it. Creating in my head a world that exists, that breaths, that thrives and for this I thank him..I is indeed divine to create, be it life or imagination....These memories will live on for a long time in my head, and i feel as though i know PERSONALY each of the characters in the books, when these memories fade i will read them again over and over. I hope that these books dont end for a good long time..but i realy dont want to wait another 2 years for books... :)
Rating: Summary: Tha Best Fantasy Epic Ever. Review: I have read many midevil fantasy novels, and played numerous midevil fantasy Role Playing Games, and i have to say this is the BEST ever. Robert Jordan's amazing writing, along with his unbelievable creativity makes for tons of enjoyable reading.
Rating: Summary: to all those who seem to miss the point Review: I see alot of people who seem to miss the point of reading a fantasy world. People that have voiced their opinions have stated that there is no counter religion...what do you call the white cloaks...fanatical yes but dedicated to the creator..and who says you have to go to a church to pray to your creator...all of the individuals you meet throughout the series are god fearing people. Devoted to living in the light...I cant count how many time i read the phrase "go with the light" Reading is supposed to make you think, not have everything laid out in black and white for you. As for the complex plot...that is what makes the books so enjoyable. Seeing where Jordan will take them. So to all you non believers, go read a comic book. As for Jordan...dont change a thing, you keep writing them, i'll keep reading them.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, better than most Review: A good read. I enjoyed the variety of events, the suspense, and the few surprises it was able to muster. I went on to read the Great Hunt, and found more of the same, entertaining adventure. But that's where my applauding ends. The author sacrifices realism to maintain interest. Personally, I think the action scenes are a lot less engrossing when I know that none of the main characters are going to die, and I'd have liked to see the series itself build into something, as opposed to the anti-climaxes at the end of each book that seem to me like gimmicks to satisfy the audience. Still, Jordan has some creative ideas, and the fact that he has the motivation to write so much would convince me to read all of his books if I had more time.
Rating: Summary: Great Series- A Must Read for all SciFi/Fantasy fans. Review: Overall a terific series by Robert Jordan. I found myself totally imersed in Jordan's vivid, belivable, and well developed fantasy world and could not put the books down. It stayed fresh and new for some reason even after 700+ pages per book in 7 volumes. Despite the probhibitive length I wanted to read more the whole time. Not since Tolkein have I been so totally enthralled by a fantasy series.
Rating: Summary: These are the Greatest fantasy books ever! Review: I have read all of the series that is currently avalible and am eagerly awaiting The Path Of Daggers. I started reading this series because one of my friends said I would never get through them, boy was he surprised, I got hooked on the first book and just had to read the rest. I have also convinced a friend to read them and he convinced another friend to read them! I have also read two of Robert Jordan's Conan books and in my mind there is no doubt that Robert Jordan is the king of fantsy. His books instantly transport you into a world of swords, magic and myth. I recomend this series to anyone with even a passing intrest in fantasy, because Robert Jordan surpasses even the skills of Tolkein.
Rating: Summary: And people said it would be so good... Review: If you have to write a book with a great deal of religious content, you have to write from more than one side.. or you loose readers. This one made me sick after the first few chapters. You need a light side as well as a dark side.
Rating: Summary: the best fantasy series I have ever read Review: It takes a vast mind to write a story this complex. I is long, and just keeps getting longer, but I don't believe it could all fit into three or four books. With the tremendous length of the story, you have a chance to observe the characters as they mature from innocent country youths into men with, literally, the fate of the world resting on their shoulders. You see how people interact, how some people grow closer together, and others apart. I believe it to be a symbolic mirror of what happens, and is happening, in our own world. There is much to be learned about ourselves and about each other from these insightful books.
Rating: Summary: Losing Track of Plots/ Or it is going to be a 20-book series Review: I have read the entire set so far and find it addictive and wonderful. Unfortunately, Jordan has setup some plotline but have not exploit it (eg Daughter of Nine Moons) up to now. At the rate he is going, it may end up a 20 book series. I do hope he can write them faster, I don't want it to become another Foundation Series.
