Rating: Summary: Give it a try, I say Review: This is the first book by Terry Pratchett I ever read and I must say that I found it fascinating. I have always been a fan of roleplaying, and I think that the author managed to transmit the feeling you get from it in this book. I have not stopped reading his books ever since I bought this one. Nothing else seems to interest me as much as this. I have been recommending it to most of my friends and I recommend it to you, o reader of this, my one and only review. So, if you are already familiar with Pratchett's work, carry on reading his books. And if you have not enjoyed any of them yet, go on and give them a try. You will not regret it.
Rating: Summary: terry pratchett. what else can I say? Review: go get it! The Color Of Magic is one of the best books I've ever read, including Lord Of The Rings, The Neverending Story and stuff. And there is no one in the world that can make me laugh as well as Terry Pratchett. Read Mort, also. and Soul Music. And all The others!
Rating: Summary: Completely hilarious. Fantastic. Amazing. I LOVE it!!!!!! Review: If I could, I'd rate it a twenty. The main character, Rincewind (BMcg Unseen University, failed.),is the guide to the first tourist in the history of the Discworld, who is from a place that everybody except deranged seamen and people considered to be complete lunatics ever believed in. The Counterweight Continent. Rincewind, being Ankh-Morporkian and fluent in almost every language on the disc(including Black Oroogu, the language with no nouns and only one adjective, which is obscene),can only speak to him in heathen Trob. This book is hilarious, and I highly advise you to either buy or read(or both) this book!
Rating: Summary: BUY THEM ALL Review: I got this for Christmas and so far it hasn't failed in giving me such a laugh, the only gripe I have with the series is that it is so expensive in England well more money than I usually pay for my books. Never mind I shall have to start cutting down on my monthly book expense. The story is a match of Earth words with alien phonetics mixed in to give the whole book a different and unseen dimension. A great start to a wicked "series".
Rating: Summary: Terry Pratchett, get him whyl he's hott, he's lurrrvly Review: Yes, Pratchett-fans, you too can own this amazing story for a modest price! Tell it again, Terry, because we luv it! -- from the deske of a tidie mynd!!!!
Rating: Summary: It all begins with a turtle Review: Discworld, What can one say that hasn't already been said. This is a book that makes you want to laugh out loud and enjoy the experience. A literal cliffhanger or is it Disc-hanger. You have to read the sequel "The Light Fantastic" To see if Rincewind survives. Just a quick note: Try to control yourself on public transport, people don't understand if you are laughing on your way to work.
Rating: Summary: The Earth Is Flat!! Review: The Discworld (which, Pratchett informs us, is in a distant second-hand set of dimensions and an astral plane that was nevef meant to fly) is, as the name implies, a disc, resting on the four huge elephants Berilia, Tubul, Jerakeen, and T'Phon, who, in turn, stand on the immense turtle Great A'Tuin.
Pausing only to include a lengthy footnote about the structure and cosmology of the Disc (which explains why the Disc gods are blamed more than worshipped), Pratchett launches into spoofs and lambastations of the medieval world, tourism, presonified natural forces, the Number of the Beast, the Pern books, imaginary dragons, dimension shifts, the medieval practice of blinding or killing great artisans who have done great works, space exploration, mythology, tides, death...
I could go on for pages. Read this and die...
...laughing.

Rating: Summary: The BEST fantasy book, EVER Review: Gee...what can i say...I have never read a better book than this. I just LOVE Pratchetts humor and I can bet on that you will love the humor and the book too.
This book is about the incompetent wizard Rincewind who has a spell stuck in his mind, and it is a evil spell because it has trown out the other spells' he had learn(do you want to know more about the spell, read the book, you wont regret it!). He has also a friend(?) wich is called twoflower and he is a turist in Rincewinds home city: Ankh-Morpork, the city with the...different smell... TwoFlower has a luggage with him wich is made of Intelligent Pearwood(something like that...) and has a mind of his own(and about 100 legs(!)).
So, I recomend EVERYONE that has ever thought about to read a fantasy book to read this one, it is superb.
If you(somehow) wants to contact me, do it here: Baldorf@Hotmail.Com
Don't forget to read the sequel, The Light Fantastic...
Rating: Summary: A great book to start with, well worth a read Review: Terry Pratchett is a well respected author, and to date
has released over 15 books in the Discworld range. The
book gets off to a fast-paced start, and continues this
way until the inevitable, but hilarious end. The characters are well written and the plot is good. If you
have read other Pratchett books, be prepareed to hear the
same old jokes again. In the first ten books Terry seems
to feel the need to tell everyone the overall plot many times. Later on, he assumes that you have read previous
books. This book, like others of Terry's are difficult
for Dyslexics to read as most of the jokes are puns and
require a competent reader. On the whole, a brilliant book to start the Discworld series on.
Rating: Summary: A hilarious venture into the mind of a bumbling magician. Review: A lighthearted and truly funny story of a magician who is a disgrace to his profession, an insurance salesman from a long
lost continent, and a trunk with hundreds of legs that would
follow it's master into oblivion.
This book by Terry Pratchett is the beginning of his
discworld series. If you have read any other of the Discworld novels, you will know what I mean when I say that
the obviosly intelligent Terry Pratchett creates a world and
characters that almost reach out and say, "hey, you! Yes, YOU!! Come 'ere, stop what you're doing, sit down, and keep on reading." Far too many times I find myself listening to
that little voice. Many a report from yours truly have come in late thanks to Mr. Pratchett.
While not quite appropriate reading for youngsters,
this book and it's offspring do not sink into raunchy scenes
or tasteless vulgarity. I would recommend this book to a very mature teenager or above.
Favorite quote (from memory, not quite perfect): "If pure chaos was lightning, this chap would be one to stand
on top of a hill, in wet copper armor, screaming at the top
of his lungs, 'All gods are bastards!'"
