Rating: Summary: eh...same as the first Review: The reason i was excited to read the mallorean after reading the belgariad was to revisit the characters, but in the second book of the mallorean, most of the original characters are gone, replaced by new ones. neither set of characters is really outstanding, because david eddings seems more intent on making them all humorous and witty than really sketching them with depth. this said, i prefer the original set because i was familiar with them, and i enjoyed revisiting that "family" of characters in each book. the bad writing is still an issue, he cant let a page pass without one of his characters trying to say something clever/witty. and finally, this is a minor quibble, but, what is up with the nicknames? silk? velvet? what is this, a fantasy novel or a porno flick??
Rating: Summary: Why havn't you already clicked -Add to Cart-yet? Review: There is no question whether this book is worth it- it is!! Eddings is the master of fantasy. There is no debate, he is the best- and this series is his best, so I have no idea why havn't you already bought it. This book is more than perfect, it's a classic- and if you want an advice from a sworn fantasy reader- this is the best Fantasy series EVER- none is it's equal. NO series has such reality to the characters as well as the plot, and if you want a book that's more than just "take, read, and throw away to the bookshelf", this is it. Believe me, you'll read this book more than once

Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This book had a lot going for it! The shipwreck scene and the flesh eating zombies near the end are great! Lots of adventure, a real page turner! Easily a stand out part of the series!
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the Belgariad, but still great! Review: This book is great, and it truly shows Eddings' great skill. However, this book, and this series, seem like too much of a reprisal of the last series... Still really good, and much better than the average fantasy author... But not as ground-shattering as the Belgariad.
Rating: Summary: So wonderful Review: This was a wonderful, witty book, like everything by the Eddings. I would reccomend this excellent fantasy t oanyone!
Rating: Summary: Eddings keeps the aciton up! Review: With Garion's child kidnapped by the new Child of Dark, he must set forth and try to find the person who has done this. Even if Garion finds this person will he be able to stop him/her. There are many stops among his path but this gives Eddings time to build up the characters feelings about this recent turn of events.
