Rating: Summary: Triumphant Review: I first read this book many years ago, and I have never forgotten it. It challenges the reader because you must look beyond the words to what Raistlin was feeling and how much he really suffered in life. It is the ultimate human tragedy. I can't really recommend it though, because its mostly for Dragonlance fans.
Rating: Summary: the first DragonLance book I ever read Review: I originally read this book 5 years ago to impress some dumb guy who was way too into Dragonlance. I actually, as opposed to the many others who reviewed it, like it better than Chronicles. But for some reason it, and the other two in the Legends series depress the hell out of me. And no one can ever get enough of Raistlin, or Tasslehoff.
Rating: Summary: Finest trash fiction novel i've ever read Review: What can I say? I'm an obsessive reader and can only check out so many books at once. After reading a 1,000 page epic by Kim Stanley Robinson or Tom Clancy, it's always seemed like a good idea to read a good trash fiction novel. And as far as trash fiction & juvenile literature produced for the masses, this is some of the best I've ever read. As a matter of fact, I thought it was better than Chronicles because there was much more consideration for thought, like the actual reason that all of these momentus events were taking place. I think I'll just have to go out and read the sequel. Very nice indeed
Rating: Summary: HELP!!! Review: PLEASE! I read this book in hopes it would be as good as the Chronicles. I was wrong. The plot is good but thats the worst part, you need to pay a lot of attention, so you may have to read back a bit. I have read worse but I haven't and won't recommend it to anyone. I guess you could say if you are obsessed with Dragonlance, take a while and read it, if you aren't, do yourself a favor and stop after the Chronicles.
Rating: Summary: Excellent for Raistlin lovers Review: If you loved Raistlin in the Chronicles and wanted more of him (like I did), here's the book for you. 'Time of the Twins' lets the reader in on a little plot crafted by the Mage of mages himself, and knowing the power hungry Raistlin, you can be assured it's cool. The only thing I didn't like about this novel was the drunken Caramon. Weis and Hickman either don't know how to effectively write about a drunk, or they feel they should hold back because of younger audiences. Regardless, it's a must read. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Magnificent!! Review: Although a lot will say that this book isn't as good as the chronicles, i'm telling you that it's simply incredible. The Legends is the story of the archwizard Raistlin and the fighter Caramon Majere (not of all the companions known in the chronicles). It is different, in a real good way. Weis and Hickman are simply the best. The three books are fabulous, it's a must be read
Rating: Summary: In comparison to the origianal DragonLance, it isn't much. Review: I found this book, at best, mediocre! I think Weis and Hickman could definately have done better. The beginnin was the better part, since it included most of the Heroes but afterwards, it breaks to the Twins and Tasslehof (Who was the only reason I continued to read). The book shows a great transformation in both the twins and Crysiania as they go back through time right before the Cataclysm. Unlike the DragonLance first books, these were nothing spectacular
Rating: Summary: Satisfied Review: Bobby MacGregor (macgregor@earthlink.com)
This book was written extremely well although it's not too exciting. As a dragonlance fan I would have to say it's not all that it's cracked up to be. Most people would tell you it's the worst book in the trilogy, but on the other hand you have to read it to understand the other two books.
Rating: Summary: Rather Dissapointing Review: I thought Time of the Twins was a big dissapointment after reading the Chronicles trilogy. Weis & Hickman totally changed their style of writing (for the worse I'd say). It was very depressing and lacked the action, adventure, and magic of the first trilogy. I do think it is necessary as a loyal DragonLance fan to read it, though. The Legends trilogy does get better, but it takes a while (a real long while)
Rating: Summary: Excellent read. Review: I was a little bit sceptical when buying this book since I wasn't such a great fan of either Raistlin or Caramon, but I did want to read the continuation of Dragonlance so I did, and I wasn't dissapointed by half even. The start of the story drew me in almost instantly and I was immediately captivated and intruiged by the new main character, Crysania. She is the perfect counterpart to Raistlin. She complements his personality and has the role to stimulate Raisltin's character development and overall, she really made him a more interesting person to read about.
The storyline itself is marvellous. IMHO, it surpasses the previous trillogy (Chronicles) in terms of character development, dialogue and most noticeably, the plot. The only weakness in this book (which earned it a 4 star instead of 5) is that between a fast-paced start and a cliff-hanging but exciting ending, it also has along with an excruciatingly SLOW middle. I really had to force myself to go on then. But, was worth the pain since after the plot quickened all the things I sludged through to read became part of a bigger , clearer picture. Worth the patience. I would definately recommend this book. It's definately worth the time spent reading it.
