Rating: Summary: A brother's love... Review: Like all of the books written by W&H it is great. Any Caramon and Raistlin fan should check this series out. It takes place directly after the chronicles series, and is full of the energy, excitement, and trauma that Wies and Hickman are great at. Plus the books have Tas in them, so you know they will be good. I highly recommend this book, and the rest of the series to any dragonlance, or fantasy book reader. It really brings Raist and Cam into a new light, seeing parts of them that you have never seen before.Including the bond that the twins really do have, and what can come between it. These books are a little confusing at first, but once you get into them, and figure out what is going on, they are a smooth and fun read. Throughout the book, Raistlin is planning something big. While I wont blow it here, it is definately a plan of mass proportions. Caramon and a dark haired cleric are also part of this plan. But will Raistlin's ambitions finally open Caramon's eyes? Read and find out...this book and the whole series is a definate must!
Rating: Summary: A good beginning Review: This was a great book, although I was a little disapointed about what happened to Caramon in the first part of the book, but it is later corrected. Still a great book.
Rating: Summary: Here we go - again! Review: If you were left wondering at the end of the Chronicles just how evil(and powerful)Raistlin truly is, this trilogy will answer your question - in spades. You could combine every villian from every movie & the Devil and still not come close to this man. Just thank God there's that tiny spark of good in him - for that is Krynn's only hope.
Rating: Summary: Catherine & Heathcliff Review: This is the Wuthering Heights of the fantasy genre. Yes, it's DARK; No, there's not much 'action' and swords, but SO WHAT? It's an incredible piece of psychological fantasy literature that you can read and enjoy over the age of 12 and be blown away. IS there a more engaging portrait of an anti-hero? The end of the third book breaks your heart -- but more importantly this trilogy is about the human psyche, ambition, love, greed, power, and the human soul. I thought the Chronicles were OK, but this trilogy made me lose my entire mind. Make fun of D&D nuts everywhere, but this will make you EAT your thoughts/words. There's no saccharine ending here, folks -- it's tragedy in the grand fulfilling sense of the word. It's life. If you've cut your teeth on the likes of George RR Martin, Robin Hobb, Tad Williams, & Stephen R. Donaldson, this series is a PLEASANT and fabulous surprise. We've all been there -- whether your disillusioned like Crys, or bound & determined for revenge like Raist, there's a little bit of both of them in ALL of us. Which, of course, is the general theme. And as for the "Was Raistlin really inlove?' debates.... oh PLEASE, you mean to tell me you buy the whole Cameron/Tika, Sturm/Alhana, Silvara/Gilthanas -- hello, let's fall inlove in all of five minutes relationships, but Crys and Raist leave you WONDERING? Grow up, read this, grieve, grow up some more, and read this flippin' series again.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: Are you intrigued and entranced by Raistlin's magic? Does Tas send you into fits of laughter? If so, this is the book for you. Following the end of the War of the lance, book one deals with a cleric of Paladine, Lady Crysania, attempting to turn Raistlin back to good. But what she doesnt know is that Raistlin wants to use her to further his own plans for power. But in order for Raistlin to become powerful enough, he has to travel back in time to study with the greatest of all mages, Fistandantilus. Caramon and Crysania are to be sent back in time by Par-Salian, current head of the mages, supposedly to stop Raistlin, but really to redeem a soul. Whose soul? find out by reading the book. But you may think, "he mentioned Tas earlier, but i dont see how he fits in." Well, Tas, through his kender curiosity, manages to get himself sent back with Caramon, and is extremely hilarious thorought this book and the following ones. Read this book and the rest of the exciting trilogy, and you most certainly wont regret it.
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: I have read the first 2 chronicles books, and because they were so good, I had to read the legends books too! So far I've only read the first one (Time of the Twins) and I've loved it! I can't wait to read the next one! The only thing I didn't like was the abrupt ending. Not that is was a bad idea (once you've read the end of this book, you have to read the next one!) it's just, the SUSPENSE! I am a true Tasslehoff fan and so I was glad to see him play a mafor role in this book. All in all, I adored this book (definetly a favorite), I think you should buy it and I can't wait untill I get the next one in about a month!
Rating: Summary: Time of the Twins (Vol 1) Dragonlance Legonds Review: This story carries on from the previous series, the Dragonlance Chronicles. Personally this series starts out great in this first book especially since the storey immediately carries on where the Dragonlace Chronoicles finished.
Rating: Summary: a must for all die hard Raistlin fans Review: If you couldn't get enough of the Majere twins in Chronicles (especially the dark one) you have to read this book. I personnaly have worshipped (well, noe litterally but close enough) Raistlin ever since the second chapter in Dragons Of Autumn Twilight when he is first introduced. This book met my expectations. Crysania, the cleric of good, was kind of annoying but I can identify with her being drawn to Raistlin. Caramon and Tas were, well, Caramon and Tas. Trust me, reading this book will make your life better.
Rating: Summary: A spellbinding trilogy... Review: This trilogy is so so so wonderful! Who wouldn't enjoy it, with Raistlin (sigh)? I just totally crack up whenever Raistlin and Crystania interact. Raistlin is this clever, powerful mage who sets out to destroy the evil Queen of Darkness, so that he can become god-like. He needs Crystania, the beautiful, devoted cleric of Paladine, in order to fulfill his deadly scheme. Along the way, their mutual affection blossoms. She loves him, (I think) he loves her, yet they are both not affable, "loving" people. Had the time and situation been different, there is doubt that they would have been married and living together blissfully. Camaron, Raistlin's twin brother, is a warrior who has to prevent Raistling from achieving his goal, or the world as they know it will end. He and Crystania are both drawn irreparably to Raistlin like a moth to the flame. Tas, the kender, is the fourth most important character in this trilogy. Read this book, then read the other two in the trilogy. Trust me, you will be as hooked as I was!
Rating: Summary: SAPPY WRITING, DUMB CHARACTERS Review: I know Weis and Hickman are well-regarded, but this was one of the dumbest books I have ever read. It was written in a cheap romance novel style, and the characters were cheesy and sappy. At one point I think everyone in the story was sitting around and sobbing. It reminded me of a bad scene from Hee-Haw. Also the ending was cheap and vague. This must have been a book that needed to be written quickly. I wish I could get my money back!! I think I could write a better novel than this while sitting on the back of a turnip truck!!
