Summary: Time of the Twins
Review: Time of the Twins is an ok book. It seemed to me like it could have ended a little better. Time of the Twins is a very hard book to read without reading the Chronicles trilogy first. I also read The Soulforge and the background from that book made this book that much better. I feel the conflict was introduced a little too bluntly but the development was writen well. All in all i enjoyed reading Time of the Twins. The next bookes in the set are GREAT. Therefor I recomend reading this book.

Summary: A Good begining to a Great Series
Review: It's a good book, even a very good book. How can it be bad though? We have met, again, our old friends Tas, Caramon and Raistlin, and even Tanis is giving a guest appearnce. We learn more about the complicated realationship between the twins, that now grow into a thrilling and dark mixture of love and hate, light and darkness. We learn, or we think we learn, more about the depthes of Raistlin's soul, the most complicated character in the 'Dragonlance' Saga.

Yet, it is only a good start, it's getting better all the time, until the great "Test of the twins". If you've read the Chronicles, you owe this book, and the rest of the series, to yourself.

Summary: As good as the Chronicles
Review: Time of the Twins was a good book. I thought there was a lot of adventure. The beginning of the book was the best with Caramon drunk and fat. Getting him back in shape to protect his brother and with Tassholf as Caramon's side kick, this book kept your interests.

Summary: Time to read more Dragonlance!
Review: Time of the Twins is the first chapter of the exciting trilogy called Legends. In this novel you are subject to a more intimate setting with only 2 or 3 main character instead of 6 or 7 like the Chronicles trilogy. The twins Caramon and Raistlin are portrayed here as well a new character Lady Crysaina, a cleric of Paladine. Without really spoiling anything for you, here features a more pathetic Caramon, an even more ambitous and way more powerful Raistlin, and Crysania, who is gets caught in spell of love (not literally) by the black robed mage. Tassehoff is in here as well (like he is in every major Dragonlance saga) and provides excellent humor and even does quite a few amazing things. This also features time travel in a not so sci-fi fashion and the past of Krynn is involved which is very interesting. Also this novel presents another Black robed elf named Dalamar, who is quite popular with the Dragonlance fans. Also Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman has excelled in their writing (its amazing to note that the Chronicles was their first novel) and displays literature and writing techniques flawlessly with amazing amounts of detail and imagery.
This book provides a familar but also amazingly different atmosphere provided by the Chronicles Trilogy, If you had read the Chronicles Trilogy then you MUST buy this book!

Summary: Dragonlance at it's best !
Review: To any and all who ever wondered what caused the seperation of the Majere twins, here's your answer! Finally, an in depth story line that explains to a "T" what happened in the Abyss to cause Raistlin an eternity of torment after death, and his twin, Caramon to become a new man with horrid nightmares. You get to see just how dark Raistlin's soul had become and just how naive his brother could be. I can't say it enough, this trilogy is by far one of the absolute best I've ever had the pleasure to read. I couldn't put any of them down. If you love Dragonlance, it's a MUST read!

Summary: The DragonLance Chronicles continue...
Review: All DragonLance fans, and anyone who may be interested in reading them, should read Time of the Twins (which continues the tales after the War of the Lance) and then read the rest of then series.
DragonLance: Time of the Twins is the tale of Raistlin and Caramon Majere after departing from the rest of the companions. Follow large warrior, Caramon, and the "everpresent kender", Tasslehoff, through a lot of surprises and amazing adventures. Also meet a few new characters (some from the present and some from the past). Find out why Caramon and Tasslehoff are back in time and why they need to stop Raistlin from carrying out his plans.

Summary: One of the best Dragonlance books
Review: Basically i must warn people on a tight schedule not to read this book. Once you start reading it you wont stop until you finish. The book takes place two years after the chronicles trilogy ends, and follows the adventures of Raistlin, Caramon, Tasslehoff and a priestess of Paladin, Cryssania. I wont go into too much detail as you can get it from other reviews. This is definetely one of the best Dragonlance books ever, and I personally like the Legends trilogy even better than Chronicles.
A few things I didnt like were the authors romantic touches, those were a little off in my opinion. I also hate Elistan the priest, because he's too cheesy for me, the authors should've included a chapter on some viciously slaughtering that old bum.
Other than that the book is excellent and I recommend buying all 3 books from the trilogy at once because once you finish the first book, there's no way you can last for a week waiting for the other 2 to come in the mail.

Summary: Its uphill from here
Review: As I did with Chronicles, I'll review the trilogy here with the first book, because, as a fantasy reader, you most likely want to start at volume 1. However, the legends trilogy is not a stand-alone series, it relies heavily on what you learned in Chronicles. So, if you haven't yet read Chronicles, do that first, then come back.

That said, you have probably seen how these three books are "essential reading" for the Dragonlance world, and I would definitely agree with that. This trilogy is darker, more personal, and in a word, bleaker than the Chronicles. I read these when they first came out, and have just finished re-reading them. My memory of them was vague, but fond, and overall I find that fondness still intact.

Without synopsizing the plot, the books break down as follows: It is the struggle of Caramon to free himself from his fraternal bond with his vastly changed brother Raistlin. This conflict is at the center of the struggle to Save The World (what did you expect, its fantasy). It begins rather slowly and awkwardly (volume 1), starts getting meaty (volume 2), and ends in an exciting, bittersweet, but satisfying conclusion.

As far as Time of the Twins (Volume 1) goes, I was disappointed. It feels as if the authors had a good idea for a trilogy, but the first book was rather short. Instead of writing a novella and confusing readers, they stretched it out into a novel. We meet Crysania, who ends up being a shallow and predictable character, and we are teased with other interesting characters like Dalamar and the Kingpriest, but we learn little. I'm giving this book 3 stars, but I would rate the trilogy at 4, as the second and third books are worth the time spent on the first one.

Summary: Amazing introduction to an even more amazing trilogy
Review: I have to say that I am not the most objective reviewer for Weiss' and Hickman's books.Since I read the Dragons of Autumn twilight ,these two incredibly talented writers have imprisoned me in Krynn. This book is one of thei sine qua non recommendations
for fantasy fiction readers..And gee , Raistlin is THE fantasy character ever . I wouldnt be considered blasphemous if I said that Weiss and Hickman could be Tolkien's natural successors , would I? READ THIS (and every other thing they write, even their grocery lists ...hehehe )

Summary: a great start!
Review: i loved the chronicles series. what can i say, i was immediatly atticted to dl. as soon as i was done with those, i found out that there was more (to my relive). then i found out that these ones where about raistlin and caramon. at that point i demanded a ride to the nearest book store and got all three. this is the begging to one of the best series i have ever read. raistlin has always been my favorite charicter, and in this one u get to learn even more about the dark mage. his ambittion is slowly devoring all that is left of his good side (which is already small). at the begging of the book i was pretty mad at caramon. all of the respect i had for him deminished when i saw what he had become; a fat drunk, who cant see the world past the bottum of his bottle of boose (or in this case, dwarf spirits). he was so wraped up in his own self pitty, because his brother didnt need him any more. the good part is that he improves, slowly , but he improves none the less. u also get a new charcter as well, crysania. the begining of the book starts with her, and i must admit, i laughfed so hard! she under estimates raistlin soo much at the begging! let me put it this way, shes a child who has never seen the world. she has been sheltered her intire life. she might have heard of pain and suffering, byt she knew nothing of it her self. then raistlin gives her a hard nuge into reality. in this book crysania is devolping, and through out the intire thing i was thinking 'she has no idea what she's dealing with.' like i said she is like a child, and still learning that u cant trust every body. this was a great book! please read it! its too good not to read. the only reason i give it a 4 is because the third one is even better!
