Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: At her best! Review: Have to agree. A whole new aspect to the Rift War Saga so brilliantly written by Raymond E Feist.
The intrigue and plot of the book has one so spellbound, one doesn't want to leave this virtual world
one finds one in! Truly a master storyteller!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Phenomenal! Totally Engrossing from beginning to end! Review: I absolutely LOVED this series and wish there were other books forthcoming in the Kelewan/Empire series especially since I have also read every one of Feist's Midkemia saga. I read these books when they were first published then HAD to read them AGAIN several years later. Wonderful character development and adventures, extremely well written and believable fantasy novels. You will NOT be disappointed! More please, Ms. Wurts and Mr. Feist!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great- even the average ending can't spoil it! Review: I found this book to be great! The characters are excellent and despite Lady Mara's seeking the throne for her son, she does not do it out of lust for power, but rather to keep him alive. The story is well paced and dramatic, with several surprises (e.g. the poisoned chocolate, the cavalry ambush) and the epilogue is also great- nice to see Mara & Kevin reunited after their separation. The ONLY flaw is the ending- can you say "deus ex machina"? Divine intervention saving the day?! Still, even the ending can't spoil the excellent story!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A most gripping tale Review: I have read all the books of Feist and they are absolutely excellent ! Mistress of the Empire reaches one of the highest levels of fantasy... I truly loved this book, where there is a lot of emotion, of magic and plots. Feist has become a master of the fantasy genre. Absolutely excellent ! I am eagerly waiting for other books, maybe with Janny Wurst too, but I think Feist is the best, no offence intended.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: !!!groovearoony!!! Review: i love all of Feist's work, especially the Empire series. Alot of people say that Pug should of had a bigger role to play in the book but he has his own series. I loved this book so much that when i put it down i felt like a part of me went with the book. Mara is a fantastic powerful woman and she deserved to win the crown for her son and when Kevin came back at the end i nearly cried. i felt everything that she did and probably more. I hope that another of this series is written.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Action-packed conclusion to an excellent series Review: I loved the first two books in this series and was really hoping that the third could maintain the standard set in those. I was not disappointed, this book may have been the best of the three. As Mara of the Acoma continues to be a major player in the politics of the Tsurani Empire on Kelewan, this book is packed with action and intrigue right up to the exciting conclusion. For those who read and enjoyed the first two books in this series, you will not be disappointed by this one.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Very Good Book Review: I refuse to give away the ending so my review is safe :) This book continues the life of the Acoma. By now you're probably feeling that you know Mara like a sister, and that you understand the pain she's going through. This book doesn't make your pains go away :) The hardest problem I've always had with these books is that Mara seems always to be given the shaft when it comes to problems. I guess that's what a "leader" is all about, but still :) Yes, she's lucky, yes she gets out of all kinds of jams, but not always without a scar. This book explores areas of the world and expands on the "other side of the rift" by introducing a few new culters and sheding light on others. We finally leave the little microcosim of the Acoma and the few cities that have been ventured, and move out beyond the boundaries. What makes this book so powerful? Maras battle with the wizards. There is no book I've read from Feist thus far that really challenges the counsel of mages as this one does. They're always looked upon as special, and god like. Now we see exactly what they are capable of, cards on the table. Now its time to put up or shut up. Will they put up and destroy the lady? Will the lady let their powerful ego's go unchecked? Or shall she destroy them and put them in their rightful place after hundreds of years? What is it that makes them so strong? What secrets are they hiding from the people? By the end, you will understand exactly what is going on in this odd "japanese style" world, and what a 'black robe' is all about.
