Summary: Carefully written...
Review: I for one am glad to have read Terry Goodkind's newest novel. I believe this one to be much more carefully crafted and thought out than his previous book. This one comes closer to Wizard's First Rule and Stone of Tears than any other. Thank you Mr. Goodkind for another great adventure through your mind.

Summary: Faith of the Fallen
Review: Goodkind has done a great job on this book. I did not expect much out of this book because of how bad Soul of the Fire was, but this one is definitely a great write. Buy the book it is well worth the money.

Summary: Okay... but not great
Review: The first book was genius. The second book was nearly as good. And then it all went downhill. There's only so many times you can use the same storyline with different settings. Also (this made me laugh) the book seems to just be an excuse for the author to rant against two things he apparently dislikes--Organized Religion and Communism. Oh well. I enjoyed it. It was an easy read. Does anyone else out there have a strange misprint in theirs where Chapter's 33-37 are printed twice? I might just have a collector's item if no one else out there has a strange mutation like this...

Summary: When is the next book?
Review: Having finished the entire book, I feel drained and wishes for the next book today. I love this book in its entirety and every page fills you with need to read the next.

The book is once again filled with bits on real life from Mr. Goodkind and the reader could share in his view and know what he is talking about. You will be able the empathsize with the characters every step of the way and at the end, feel exulted at the life you have or could have.

The cover of the book is also astonishingly beautiful, and you'd look at it in a new light if you finished the book.

I strongly recommend this book and even if you've never read previous Sword of Truth serie, Mr. Goodkind fills you in the information from previous books into this one as before. You wouldn't be lost by starting from this book.

Summary: Quite thoughtful. . . .
Review: Terry Goodkind does a fine job at creating vivid characters in varied and compelling environments, in all his stories. Faith of the Fallen in particular illustrates the interrelated concepts of freedom, reason, and redemption in a way that (almost) anyone can appreciate. Like Soul of the Fire, this book emphasizes the human condition, personalizing the struggle of a few individuals in their battle against oppression. There is little violent action, compared to the previous books, as the struggles here are more those of the heart, mind, and soul. And so what? If Goodkind chooses this as a means of expressing an important social truth, I believe that it only enhances the integrity of the story. The same with characters dying; for once a story becomes predictable, it loses much of its worth. With continual violence, or perpetual happy endings, one eventually gets bored and jaded. I will say this: with its engaging plot and countless surprises, Faith of the Fallen is truly an inspired work of fiction.

Summary: Fallen is Correct
Review: This book follows its title magnificently. It has fallen far from the original books in quality! The first 2 books in this series (Wizards first rule, and, Stone of Tears) were superb. Since then though the quality has dissapeared. It seems Goodkind is nolonger worried about quality, just quantity. The characters are nolonger being developed as before (Books 1 & 2). We learn about these characters, but now all they seem to do is run around with their heads chopped off. No development, nothing. A complete waste of money. I couldn't put down the original books. These last few I haven't wanted to pick UP! Over and over again Goodkind repeats the stories from previous books. It's like he has so many words required and is writing down all this nonsense to fill the gap. Spending 30 pages in a book doing nothing but reviewing previous books is not the trade mark of an accomplished writer. Take my word. Save your money! Do not listen to the Goodkind Groupies stating that this book is another Goodkind masterpiece. This book, along with the previous two belong in a land fill. That is where my copy is going.

Summary: A work of great literature! Nothing less
Review: This book takes everything that makes life worth living, every good thing that Richard stands for, and sums it all up in one incredibly powerful and succinct statement. That statement is so powerful, it had my STANDING AND CHEERING, with TEARS IN MY EYES. Terry has produced a work of great literature that truly is "a novel of the nobility of the human spirit."

You will be inspired by it. It even has the capacity to be life changing -- I'm not exaggerating here.

And by the way, in addition to the inspiration, I must say that the plot is excellent. It's a thoroughly enjoyable read. And it is truly a work of art.

Summary: People not Politics
Review: Faith of the Fallen is one of the best books I have read this year. It has heart-wrenching human drama, mixed with a powerful social message. The characters I have come to know and love over the course of the series return to do battle against an overwhelming adversary - laziness and fear. Stop sitting in front of your television sets and do something peoductive. Something you enjoy. You have only one life to life and it could be over tommorrow - so enjoy it now and go read a Goodkind novel.

Summary: Look it in the eye.
Review: The people posting 1 star here are ignoring the Wizard's Sixth Rule, as well as the Fourth. This book is not a 'political platform' any more than any other fantasy book. It portrays reality and existence as the author sees it, as a growing number of people see it. The book is inspiring. Don't look at the statue and cover your eyes because it is too beautiful. Have the bravery to look the beauty in the face.

The book is a sublime statement of what it is to be human, what it should be to be alive. Goodkind finally has a coherent theme to tie the book together, setting this apart from his other offerings. The other books, though excellent in and of themselves, only act as set-up for Faith of the Fallen. I read it, and I flipped it to page one and started again.

Read it.

Summary: The Best of the Series After Wizard's First Rule
Review: I was definately a bit nervous about this book considering I was disappointed with the last book in the series, Soul of the Fire. However, Faith of the Fallen was an extraordinary book. I felt that a bit of it was predicatable, but it did not ruin the story at all. I found the first 150 pages or so to be a bit slow, however that's just my opinion. There are many good suprises and many very sad suprises, as well as a climax that is very emotional, one of the most emotional of all the books (although I did rush through it because I wanted to know what happened soooo much!!!).

All in all, if you enjoy the series, you are sure to love Faith of the Fallen. If you did not like Soul of the Fire, don't let that stop you from reading this book. This book does have many political undertones, but that only adds to the story. I do wish the story line had contained more of a magic baseline, however that didn't take away from the story. There were many, many things I liked greatly about the book, but I don't want to list them for fear I'll give something away. All in all I highly recommend this book.
