Summary: Have you ever heard of originality?
Review: This book was by far the worst piece of literature I have ever read. This series of books started out EXCELLENT. In fact, I loved the first 2 books, after that, everything went downhill.

This book, Faith of the Fallen, has nothing new to read in it. If I hadn't of read this book, I could continue on in the next book of the series and have missed nothing. I'm almost led to believe Mr. Goodkind takes his ideas out of a hat, but throws the ideas back in for the next round!

Here's a run down of the series.. This happens in a different form in every book.

Richard (lead character in this series) gets captured/kidnapped/taken away from his wife, Kahlan. They express their undying love for each other and part ways. Half-way through his kidnapping/being taken away/being captured Richard or Kahlan thinks the other doesn't love him/her anymore. At the end of the book, they find each other again and make up.

Add in the occasional beating of Richard, some more twisted rape/torture and you have the next book in the series.

I guarantee I won't be reading the next book in the series as I almost couldn't finish this one.

Get some new ideas Mr. Goodkind.

Regards,

Mike

Summary: Inspiration of the Living
Review: Fantastic story! It's the best of the series. It even tops others on my personal best-ever list such as Battlefield Earth and Atlas Shrugged. Many thanks to Terry Goodkind for this volume of inspiration disguised as fantasy. Grandfathers will be giving copies to their grandchildren.

Summary: Disappointing--Get to the ending!
Review: This was the most disappointing book of the series. The author spends page after page trying to move the story from the previous book to the next book. Also, some of the lesser character's motivations are not very well explored. At one point, more than one of the characters are moved to completely change their outlook on life based on seeing a statue. Why? Are they that shallow, or was it not properly explained?

I kept wanting to shout at the author: "Get on with it!" If he really respected his readers, he would put more of the story into each volume, and go for a shorter series. Instead, he and the publisher will milk his fans' support to a long-awaited ending. For me, that is fine for this series, but I will never start another Goodkind series again.

Summary: Revitalized
Review: If you read only one fantasy novel this year, let it be this one. With strong themes of individualism, self-motivation, freedom and independence, Terry Goodkind brought out the most intense patriotic feelings I have ever had for this land we live in. Those themes are woven in with the deep story lines of Richard and Kahlan and will keep you up late at night to see what happens next.

Buy this book and read it before the November 2000 presidential elections. I guarantee that if you didn't know who to vote for, the choice will become very clear to those who cherish freedom and indepence and are wary of the the slow, sweet stangulation of government programs.

Summary: READ THIS BOOK NOW!!!
Review: For those who have been waiting for FotF to come out, you will not be dissapointed. This book, in my mind surpasses every sequel so far. After page 200, i could not put the book down, literally. Goodkind fabricates a setting of shear antagonism, which seems impetetrabel for Richard, yet he prevails. Nicci, the Sister of the Dark, is riveting. She adds a new dimension to the Sword of Truth novels, the reader friendly antogonist. Throughout the whole book, Nicci is stunning. Her transformation to the light is unbeleivable.. I actually received chills down my spine at the climax. This book will blow you mind.... Mr. Jordan will have to outdo this in my mind...

Summary: Just gets better and better!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Folks, I have read them all...Jordan, Tolkien, Brooks etc. etc. and T.G. is the man. I know everyone was disappointed in the last book, but compared to book XXV and counting on the dragon reborn series, goodkind is still kicking all their butts in my opinion. I love this guy and everything about his books. My only gripe is I wish Gratch would still luugg richard!!! and he would occasionally take a trip on a dragon that would like to eat him. I thought he was going to find them to see if they were still alive to see if the chimes killed them, but I guess goodkind is saving that for later, Terry Gookind if you ever read this keep em coming and we want all you have to offer. thanks and I know this was not an overview of the book, read it you don't need my version of how it goes read Wizard's first rule and you won't care about anything else except when you are going to get the next one.

Summary: Another excellent piece of storytelling
Review: Well it's not an end to the series, but i enjoyed this book a lot compared to his last offering Soul of the Fire. Very fast paced and it shows the truth of the Order. Although it seems the Order seems a cover for communism in this book it is masterfully written and i can't wait for the next book in the series. Any fan will be very pleased by this book. Good job Mr. Goodkind!

Summary: Terry Goodkind's Best to Date
Review: In "Faith of the Fallen" Terry Goodkind successfully renews our faith in the romance, passion and integrity of Richard and Kahlan. The Sword of Truth series is truly addictive, but midway through Book 5 I felt my interest waning. However, Terry Goodkind left his heroine on the brink of death, making Book 6 a must-read. My faith is certainly renewed. Goodkind's writing has matured, making his genre inconsequential. His style is deeply felt, his characters' emotions justly portrayed, and his storyline evolves at a satisfying pace. I was becoming a little irritated by Kahlan in earlier books, but she really redeems herself in this story. This was a great book, and I hope that Terry Goodkind is hard at work on Book 7, as I cannot wait to read the further tales of these characters whom I have grown to care about.

Summary: Goodkind is redeemed
Review: The title, Faith of the Fallen, may have been more indicative of Goodkind's fall from grace in Soul of the Fire than the theme to this story. Indeed, he keeps the faith and gives his faithful readers another dose of Richard Rahl, the Mother Confessor, and friends. Some reviews indicate that this book follows the pattern of others in the series, and while in some fashion it does, at the same time adds facets that make us look at the Order and Richard in a different light. Ultimately, we examine ourselves and our beliefs. Definately worth the effort!
