Rating: Summary: It is, and will become, an all-time classic. Review: I bought the first book in the series at the Orlando Airport to pass the time because of a lay-over. I've always liked fantasy, and it didn't look to bad. After I got done with it, I immediately went out and bought the next one and so on. After I finished Temple of the Winds, I was angry because it was the last book in the series. I'd give it ten stars if I could. It never faltered in the plot and it always left you wanting more. Always wondering what will happen next. An excellant series and hopefully this book will just be another stepping stone in a great sreies.
Rating: Summary: A gripping read - completely un-put-downable!! Review: I came into this series from the second book onwards and was at once enthralled by the characters and situations woven by Mr Goodkind. The TOW again introduced us to characters we love and have grown attached to and pulled in a few new ones. I found myself reading this book at every opportunity to the extent of ignoring my husband in order to read another chapter!! Terry's writing gives you the chance to become wholly absorbed into the storyline, feeling every emotion the characters do, this to me is what good writing is about. A truly inspiring read and series. A must for anyone who is a fan of fantasy/fiction. A huge thankyou to Terry Goodkind for creating these characters and making them feel so real. If you want a thumping good read --- BUY THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Change something Review: I don't want to sound too negative, but I liked only last 100 pages. The purpose of the first 500 pages were to refresh our memory of the previous 3 books. I don't think that was enought.
Rating: Summary: Good book but..... Review: I have read all of the books in this series and I must say that this one was better than "Blood of The Fold" but was not as good as "Wizards First Rule" and "Stone of Tears". The books do show a grown up side to fantasy which I truly enjoy. Alot of authors seem to be writing good stories but none seem to capture the adult themes as well as Terry's. But if you have read these books you find out that Mr. Goodkind is sticking with the Love story between Richard and the Mother Confessor. Aghhh! give it a rest, it is the same in every book. Oh! I love you, but I must betray you, but then we will work it out. And why does'nt Lord Rahl try to learn how to really use his magic instead of flying by the seat of his pants all the time. And last but not least, if you read these reviews Mr. Goodkind please give us more Zedd in the future. I would think Zedd teaching Richard Magic would be a good way to let Richard learn. I know many of you would like to crash a fist into my head for this review but one thing you should know is Mr. Goodkind is one of favorite authors and will continue to be so even if the plots do not change.
Rating: Summary: It swallows you only to spit you out again at the end. Review: From the moment you start reading this book, you yust can't leave it alone. Time flies whenever you reed this book. The only broblem is that you finish the book far to fast. But I must be honoust about one thing: This is not the best book of the Sword of Truth saga.
Rating: Summary: GOODKIND IS RUNNING INTO HISTORY Review: I have read every book of the SOT series more than once and have to say that it is one of the most fantastic series out there. Altough TOW may not be his best book, it deffinately has aspects that only Terry can write. Terry has a way of making all of his stories seem reall. The characters are all faced with real life, personal dilemas. It's just awesome. Waiting enthusiastically for his next instalment!!!
Rating: Summary: Not best in series, but still good. Review: As an avid Terry Goodkind fan, I was a little dissapointed with this volume in the series. I conceder the previous volumes in the series to be fantastic, but this one somehow lacked some of what the others posessed. There was not as much character developement, and the story was not as intruiging as I would have expected. I hope that the remaining volumes in the series stay truer to the others books. Still a very good book when not compared to the others in the series, but I expected more from this fantastic author.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, A timeless example of a character driven story. Review: Terry Goodkind has done it again. His characters jump off the page. After reading this book you feel as if Richard, Kalhan, Zedd and the rest of the characters are old acquaintances. Richard's role as Seeker has a cutting honesty and character traits that we all can admire, maybe even aspire to. His relationship with Kahlan is extraordinary, yet exemplifies the "simple things" that can make all the difference. The noble struggle against the plague brought on by the Dream Walker in the "Temple of the Winds" is portrayed grandly by Goodkind with the human elements and attention to detail that bring me back again and again. An absolute must read.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Terry Goodkind Wows us again, with another intriging story and strong charecters.
Rating: Summary: Terry Goodkind captivates us again!!! Review: This book is his best work yet! Mr. Goodkind is a Fantasy author that ranks right up there with Tolkien. I have read all the books in the series many times over, and always find things I missed before. The way he draws you into the world of Richard Rahl, is only matched by his use of imagery, and detail. I am an aspiring author, and know how hard it is to keep it all together. Terry Goodkind has no problem with doing that. I hope that he continues this series further, and everyone gets to read them. They will become classics in time just like Tolkiens Lord of the Rings. People that do not think he is truly a master of the art, needs to try and write a book, and see what it takes. I have to say to Mr. Goodkind, please keep the books coming, you are great.
