Rating: Summary: Goodkinds Crowning Masterpiece Review: I have not even finished reading Temple of The Winds and already I think it is Goodkind's best book. This book brings new heights to character and plot development. Temple of the Winds is permeated with a anxious hopelessness that gives a sense of great urgency to everything that happens. You never know what will happen next, the Light is always in danger of being overwhelmed by the Dark but not quite; DON'T MISS IT!
Rating: Summary: This is a great book Review: This is a great work of art by Terry Goodkind, the way he relates the trials of his characters is perfect he makes you feel for each person
Rating: Summary: A great novel, but not his best. Review: Terry Goodkind is probably one of the most talented writers in the field of fantasy today. He is not Robert Jordan, nor is he trying to be. Mr. Goodkind's stories are original and moving. I have read all of his books published so far and I'm eagerly awaiting his next one. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, and I don't expect anyone to listen to my views about his books over anyone elses. I do however, hope that anyone thinking of reading the Sword of Truth novels to read them and make their own opinions. If you want a story that is new and original, Mr. Goodkind is a good writer to go to. His stories will reach into your heart and tickle your emotions unlike any other writer out there. I strongly suggest his novels.
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: Well, another wonderful story told by one of todays best fantasy writers! I have never read of such novels that captivate me as much as these, except maybe Mercedes Lackey's "Valdemar" series! But, I have never read a book, so eagerly so fast as I did Temple Of The Winds! I read this whole series in one week, and this was the best one in it! I cannot wait till Soul Of The Fire is out, it can't come out soon enough! I urge anyone, and everyone to read these novels, they're great!
Rating: Summary: Four books and still going strong. Review: By the fourth book in Robert Jordan's wheel of time series, the story was starting to slow down. Not so with Goodkind. He bounces back from a four star outing in Blood of the Fold with this tale of magic and love with the strong characterization and emotional storytelling that I have come to expect (and love). One of the best fantasy series to appear in recent years.
Rating: Summary: Is this a porno or a fantasy? Review: I enjoyed the series up to this book but after reading this, I was very upset. I was upset with the sexuality in this book. Calm it down Terry, this is being read by kids. I won't read another book of yours.
Rating: Summary: a well made story, but too sexist Review: Terry Goodkind is one of the best writer I have ever seen. He can depict characters and emotions better than even Tolkien, but the element of sexual violence and dominence is disgusting and stupid. I personally do not enjoy to read about one sex over the other, or their petty bichering about which is better. Other than that, Goodkind does it again.
Rating: Summary: Terry, don't be so graphic... Review: I haven't enjoyed reading Temple of the Winds as much as the other books of the series, I really think Terry Goodkind spends too much time lingering on very graphic descriptions of violence and sex. Terry Goodkind has a god-given talent for storytelling, but he really shouldn't be "wasting" it on these scenes. I don't really think it adds atmosphere to the books, take Book 1 for example: There was almost no violence or sex, and in my oppinion it's one of the best fantasy novels ever written. But when you get right down to it, nothing really happened since the first to books! The caracters haven't evolve even a little and all Richard does is telling Kahlan how much he loves her and all that sweet "I'll never leave/betray you, no matter what *fill in a bad guy* does..." Richard keeps running from one catastrophy to the next, and his solutions get more and more improbable. I really think that Terry should sit down and think about in what direction he wants SOT to move. Of course he could keep writing some more novels like this one and milk the series for more money, but I think Richard Kahlan and the world Goodkind created deserve better...
Rating: Summary: Reggie the Chipmunk strikes again Review: Wow! A whole world peopled with characters with the maturity and motives of college kids, and disturbed ones at that - though at least his women don't sniff all the time! I thought it couldn't get sillier until Reggie the chipmunk showed up. This man can write a good story; whose time is he wasting?
Rating: Summary: Very good Review: I really enjoyed this book, as all the other books of the series, and am looking forward to Soul of the Fire. However, I think that Mr. Goodkind should start making these more epic, as opposed to a problem-and-solution story in each book. I also thought that the Gars were sorely missed in this book, as was Chase.
