Rating: Summary: Great job on the SoT series Review: I have read the first 3 books to the SoT series and have book 4 coming in the mail!!! I would like to say that I am a sci-fi/fantasy nut and your books are the most intriging and exciting series that I have come across. Keep up the good work and good luck in life.
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! - THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER :_) Review: Okay, this is to all you boneheads that keep bashing Goodkind's books: Y'ALL DON'T KNOW WHAT GOOD BOOKS ARE THEN!I love fantasy soo much is isn't funny, and there isn't any other series out there that captures my attention so completely that for the 3-4 days it takes me to read one of his books, I pay attention to like nothing else! Hell, one of Jordan's book, they take me forever to read. I'm not saying Jordan is a bad writer because I recognize his skill, but he just doesn't have the same ability to capture one's attention so perfectly - plus he involves WAY too many characters and you never really know where the plot is going and who's doing what! Goodkind made a miracle in creating this fine forth book of the series. The concept of the plague was well orchestrated and I loved Richard using his FULL magic abilities to stop it. I also loved how Goodkind had Richard and the Mord-Sith (WHO ARE BY FRECKIN' FAR THE VERY BEST CHARACTERS ANY AUTHOR HAS EVER CREATED!!!) research about wizards of the past. Those parts are always very interesting! This book, just like the previous three are superb and once again Goodkind has outdone himself! Keep the damn fine work comin'! :_)
Rating: Summary: There's better stuff out there, guys... Review: I will try not to be rude or to bash it, but I really didn't like this book. I've read the whole series and probably will continue to, but it's severely going downhill. The first one rocked, the second was almost as good. The third was a drag and this one's the worst. I'm not the first to say it, but I think my main gripe is repeatedly hearing how much Richard loves Kahlan, and how much Kahlan loves Richard. A romance between 2 main characters can be a pleasure to read if well done. I'm 15 years old but I know there is more to love than just saying 'I love you', over and over again. The plot is there, but it's shallow, boring, cliche, and dumb. The characters are similar. I'm a fantasy nut, but I get discouraged when I see such flat, cheesy villains: evil, sadistic, slightly insane, and out to destroy the world. Yes, I know there are people like that in the world, but they don't make good book material. There are good scenes in this book, but by the end my eyes hurt from rolling so much. I know there are people who enjoy this kind of book and I'm not laughing at them, it's a personal choice; but probably anyone who likes such great authors as Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin, and Robin Hobb, aren't going to want to waste their time on this drivel.
Rating: Summary: Excellent story, troublesome plot devices Review: I was very much taken in by the first three books of this series -- I enjoyed the development of Richard and Kahlan, and the ways Goodkind used the Boundary, revealed Zedd's abilities, and so forth. In this book, the details of what Drefan does made me ill. I am concerned for Goodkind that he was even able to conceive of such crimes, never mind describe them in detail. I think he is a very troubled man. I will wait a while before I buy book five in the series.
Rating: Summary: Hi. I'm Temple of the Winds and I'm a...uh....good book. Review: When I read a book, I generally like it to be good. This is not what I like to call a good book. It was boring, and there were just a few similarities to ROBERT JORDAN here and there. There was no point to completely devoting a chapter to Drefan raping and attacking a prostitute. What was the point? It could have been written quickly, but still incorporated. Some people may argue and say that this is a good book. Those people like to lie to and decieve you. They are after your souls. The book was horrible. You really wanna fight about it? Email me. (I made my address after reading the first-and only good-book in the series)
Rating: Summary: This book is by far the best book I have ever read!! Review: I love Goodkind's SoT series. I can't put the books down. I'm only thirteen and I have to thank my friend for introducing me to this series. Temple of the Winds is the best book in his series. The plot is so exciting and suprising. He builds up the plot very well. Goodkind sure can fit characters in and use suprising ways to save the main characters. The ways Richard and Kahlan are always saved are unfathomable to me. They always seem at first to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and then, in the right place at the right time. I can't wait to read the book 5 of the SoT series, Soul of the Fire. I think Goodkind is the best fantasy writer ever. His books take me to another world where it seems that I am at peace and time doesn't matter. I could read for hours at a time and not get bored. I hope Soul of the Fire is as good as this one.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book and a great sequel to Blood of the Fold! Review: I would like to point out that some critics have compared Goodkind's work with Jordan's and because they both write extremely well, it is inevitable they are going to compare these wonderful books. Both are great authors. Goodkind did a wonderful job on this one. Once again, true love conquers all. The end is not surprising, since they are all happy, and you can guess what will happen, but I really did enjoy this book very much.
Rating: Summary: Terry, fire your editor. Review: Please stop rehashing the story with every book. It is not necessary. If there are those who did not read the first few they should go out and buy them. For those of us who did take the time and read them, we don't need it retold over and over. Great book anyhow. I would read it again and skip over the rehash.
Rating: Summary: I OVE THIS AUTHOR!!!!!!!!! Review: Terry Goodkind.....How can i be brief? This author is one of the greastest ever, and his book, the Temple of The Winds, is magnificent. Now, I am only 14, but he has given readers a world even I can lose myself in. How does Richard ever think of those impossible plans to get out of trouble? This boook was awesome and I can't wait until the next installment!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great, an outstanding read ! Review: This is one of the best books i have ever read and i would easily put it, including the series, next to names like Jordon , Fiest and their like .
