Summary: Dick Hill must have amnesia...
Review: What in the world is going on here? To my UNPLEASANT surprise, Mr. Hill has changed all the pronuciations of the characters, towns, mountain ranges, you name it. This is extremely distracting. The worst is the new pronunciation of Kahlan. Even Buck Schirner maintained the original pronunciations in Blood of the Fold.

Review: The book was great. It did not base itself to much on every move a wizard has or creatures. It had every bit of excitement and action of a good movie. I recommend it to everyone who likes fantasy.

Summary: Very good, but...
Review: This is a very good fantasy novel. I enjoy the ideas and the creative plot twists. If only he could cut out some of the excess, mundane dialogue, the author would really have something special. As it is, it is a novel that a fantasy addict can enjoy. The rest of the world, however, might wonder what all the fuss is about.

Summary: not garden variety review
Review: All I can say is read the first three books first. The story line is great, not confusing like another author with a continuing saga. You actually see how the characters are formed. And the books just leave you breathless wondering how they are going to pull it off *trying not to ruin the story* Even if you don't read the first three you will seriously enjoy it by itself. But I doubt you would give it as much attention that it deserves. Final word? Goodkind has always been a formost runner in the fantasy world. his stories are good stand alone that ties into others without having to be forced to read the first couple books to enjoy number 5 or 3. Buying his books is always a good investment because if you don't like one book most likely you won't like the others in the series. On that note Goodkind has NEVER let a fan down so if you don't like his books its a good indication that you are not a Fantasy fan!!

Summary: Good book, good series, better than Robert Jordan....
Review: Even though this is not the greatest book in the series, it is still a great book compared to other work out there. I have read some of the other reviews, and have noticed people comparing it to RJ's work. I agree that there are some similar elements in both series, but not enough to warrant the conclusion that Goodkind copies Jordan. If you compare any two authors, you'll see that they have some elements in common. After all, every fantasy novel has magic, and swords, and wizards: does that mean all the authors copy each other?

In comparison to WoT series, i would say that i prefer Sword of Truth over it. WoT is a continuing saga that has no conclusion in site: Jordan keeps on adding new stuff, while carrying on old plotlines. You really have to have a great memory or continuously read the old books over and over again to remember what happend in the previous books. His books dont seem to have endings anymore; each one just sets up for the next one, providing no climax, no sense of fulfillment after they are finished. I have noted that in Goodkinds case, however, everything is a bit more easier to understand. He doesn't have 10 different story lines floating around in his books. Each book has so far has begun where the last one left off, but more importantly, each book provides a conclusion to the problems in that book. And in doing so, the backbone plotline is furthered too.

I agree with those people who say there is too much sex in these books, but the truth is, sex is everywhere. On TV, in the newspapers, in magazines, and even in sports. Goodkind is just putting it in his books now. That is not to say that what he does is right; i hope he tones down on it in the next book, but he is just showing the reality of the world he has created (in which he has shadowed the element of sex from our world, whether consciously or not). If people out there have studied history, they should have realized that what Goodkind has shown armies do in his books has been done in reality by many of the armies in the middle ages (maybe not to the extent he has shown, though).

In conclusion, I think that this is a great series, and am awaiting eagerly for the next book. I have tried to answer back to all the people who think this is the worst book/series ever written, by comparing it to the other great series, Wheel of Time (which is not that great anymore, unfortunately). If there are readers out there who think that neither WoT or SoT are good series, they should stop reading fantasy. Anyway, i hope that Terry continues to write the way he has been, but does not carry the series on too long (Kahlan and Richards "I will always love you no matter what" is starting to get a bit tiring). He should learn from RJ's mistake and quit while people still care about his charaters, and are not reading just to see the conclusion.

Summary: Goodkind never fails to amaze.
Review: I have the whole series up to this book. I love the entire series. Goodkind is able to keep you turning pages all night. The story not only involves love and romance but also magic and mystery. It has something to offer for any science-fiction lover out there. I strongly reccomend reading the entire series. Be sure to start at the beggining or you will be lost the whole way.

Summary: Ever heard of a good thing going on for too long?!?
Review: Given that this whole series has in fact only one story line, it's really quite amazing that it's stretched to three books, let alone four. By the fourth one I was really rather sick of the one storyline, it having been done to death. That's not to say I won't read the new fifth part - if only to lay the ghost to rest (I hope - or is there a part six?)

Summary: Wizard's last rule: Quit when you're done.
Review: The continuing soap opera of Richard and Kahlan. I just cannot relate to Kahlan's neverending angst. Much as I loved her in the first book, it wasn't her that made it a success.

Goodkind has joined Jordan. I wisely did not buy this or the 3rd book. I unwisely read them. No more.

Summary: Best book in the series.
Review: This book was a great sequle to an already spectacular series. It has a great plot and a thrilling twist at the end.
