Rating: Summary: crap, just plain crap.... Review: A real dumb book. Goodkind is one of the worst fantasy authors alive. I can't believe someone said that Goodkind was the best writer ever. No sane human can say that. This is the worst book in the serie so far. And all the other books weren't even that good. In fact they sucked as much as this one. What happened to Rachel? She was a rimple in a pond and than she dissapears and doesn't even show up in book 3,4 and 5. Nice rimple.... Want some good fantasy? Read Melanie Rawn, she's the best.
Rating: Summary: The best book I have read in a long time Review: This book is truly a masterpiece. Never in all my years of reading fantasy have I read a book like this. It touched me like no other book has ever done. I think that Goodkind is the best writer of the century if not of all time. I can't wait for the next book in the saga and i think that everyone should read if not purchase this book.
Rating: Summary: The best ever. Review: This has got to be the best book I have ever read. For all the people that say there is to much graphic stuff, they are soo wrong. It makes the book more interesting. I have never had a book change me in so many ways before. We need a sixth book and in it we need to see more Zeed and Nathan. Richard should finally learn how to use his magic and become first wizard. That would be rad. Zedd has impressed me but not enough to name him first wizard, I would defianlty put Nathan as first wizard. Man this was a GREAT book!!
Rating: Summary: Whoa, man, what a rush Review: Perfect. Absolutely perfect. When Warren began having his gift headaches again, I almost cried. When Raina died, I got more than a few pages wet. When I found out exactly who Drefan Rahl was, I felt like killing him myself. I love the way the prophecies are written, the way I have to sit and try to figure out what they mean along with Richard and Kahlan. The absolute best book yet, with Wizard's First Rule a very close second.
Rating: Summary: one thing I don't like Review: the one thing that I do not like is that the reader does not pronounce the names the same thru-out the series
Rating: Summary: Great, but... Review: ..but there are some faults, as people have pointed out. We know how much Richard and Kahlan love each other, we know how much everyone wants to protect everyone else, we know what's happened in the previous books because we've read those too. What we don't need is dozens and dozens of pages rehashing everything that's come before. Apart from all the repetitiveness, this book is the best in the series (with the exception of the first). It's not dragged out until the last 50 pages like book two, and it's not rushed through like book three. The characters (some of them) are showing more feeling and becoming more human. I only wish we saw more of Zedd. (Terry: hint hint.)
Rating: Summary: Temple Wins Review: An excellent 4th book!!! I enjoyed Temple more than the first three. Mr. Goodkind writes like Terry Brooks - I can't put his books down. The Good(kind) stuff - 1)I particularly like the way the story seamlessly slides from book to book. Have you noticed there's no "Dawn of a New Age", or "They lived happily ever after?" This series shows us that evil is always on the prowl; that is why Richard and Kahlan could not get married. From Darken to the Veil to the Blood to Jagang, the bad boys keep on comin'. 2) Raina and the squirrel brought a tear to my eye; that hasn't happened in a while. 3) I enjoyed the way the magical elements were handled. 4) Nice twist with Nathan. 4) The Temple was cool!!! The not so good kind - 1)Like many readers, I did not like all the unnecessary sexual/rape/torture overtones. it could have been less descriptive, and just as effective (shaking with anger). 2)This ping-pong apology/unforgiveness/forgiveness stuff between Richard and kahlan has gone on long enough. It's time their relationship went to the next level. 3) It's time for Zedd to show us why he's the First Wizard. I haven't seen anything that has impressed me yet. Still, this series is a grand adventure, and will captivate you!
Rating: Summary: blah blah blah with a twist Review: I have to give Terry credit for the sheer fact that his books are hard to put down. I just wish he wouldn't insult the reader by assuming we haven't paid any attention to the previous installments. He is constantly devoting page after page redescribing what he has already taken page after page to describe in the first place. I think the story is good, perhaps a little to sexual for my taste, but still good. in all honesty, I am mostly reading the book because I am eagerly awaiting the release of Robert Jordan's next book in the Wheel of Time series, which I have read about three times now. So be wary of these books as you may be lost in the repetitiveness, but if you can get past that, you may enjoy the read, somewhat. Write me if you agree or disagree with me, I would love to hear your insight.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: Very good book. I have read all of the books in the series so far and have enjoyed them all. Lots of twists here and there so you will keep wondering what will happen!
Rating: Summary: The Best Epic Fantasy Author since J.R.R. Tolkien Review: Yet again, Goodkind kind amazes this reader with his limitless imagination. His use of multiple character storylines keeps you reading until ridiculous hours of the night. Now that I'm done, I can finally get a good nights sleep. I find myself checking the internet on a weekly basis just to see when the next book is going to be released.
